Music

So, with recent discussion about it, I figure it'd be cool to start up another music buddy thread. The last time we tried this it started out strong, but slowly people started losing interest. Let's try to get this one more active. If you don't know what "Music Buddy" is, it's a "program" of sorts, where you are partnered up with someone and you recommend one album with them and vice versa. The ultimate goal of this thread is to help broaden the music tastes of people, and possibly make them realize a new genre of music that they like. The way you would get partnered up is whoever posts after you post. For example: I would sign up, and then Peeknuckle would post next so…

surprised this thread hasn't already been made... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJPDIfpTm-E

Since I'm a minority in liking Hip-Hop/Rap music here even after trying to get Pogre to like it after countless IM conversations, who else likes this genre of music? If so, who's your favorite artist and song?

Rolling Stone announced the details of the stacked 70-song, three-disc deluxe edition, which will be released on Sept. 24. The album consists of the original tunes, rare demos, live cuts, B-sides and rehearsals all previously unreleased and digitally remastered. The three discs (either on a CD or LP platform depending on your purchasing preference) will feature In Utero in its entirety, an album mix of live demos from a 1992 session and audio of a live concert from 1993. CD ONE – Original album remastered plus all B-sides & bonus tracks recorded at Pachyderm 1. “Serve The Servants” (Albini mix/original release) – 3:39 2. “Scentless Apprentice” (Albini mix/original…

The music industry and the general quality of music has been going down the tubes for awhile now, but in 2011 I believe we've hit an all time low.

Who are your favorite music bands?? Mines are Megadeth, Metallica , Judas Priest , Black Sabbath , And Pantera

Mine are Kid CuDi and KoRn. I love both of them, grew up listening to KoRn and just last march started listening to CuDi. 128 KoRn songs, and 42 Kid CuDi songs so far on my zune. What are your favorite artist's or bands?

I have a tie. 1. Pink Floyd's The Wall : When we shouted along with the audience to TEAR DOWN THE WALL! And then the rest of the wall came down!(You could have heard a pin drop during Mother...It was surreal to have an entire crowd be absolutely quiet). 2. Kiss' Love Gun Tour: When Peter Criss came out to the front of the stage and sang "Beth". I knew I'd love Rock and Roll forever in that moment. How about you guys???

Alright so I'm having a rave, well technically it's considered a techno party considering there will be no drugs or alcohol. Ok so anyways, this is like my third time having one and I'm running out of songs to play and it's really hard to find techno songs. Does anyone know of any good techno songs or songs to rave to? Thanks

Okay guys, it's simple, just name off some bands you like. Try to keep them fairly main stream, not some local, or unheard of indie band. I know it's strange but I just need an idea of what people like to listen to.

Check out his Kickstarter, too, if you can. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dillonhodges/dillon-hodges-debut-album?ref=live His Twitter https://twitter.com/#!/dillonhodges His website http://www.dillonhodges.com/ This guy not only is going places, but he's also one hell of a nice guy.

The only concert I have really been to is Ozzie, and that was at Blizzcon a couple years back, so it doesn't really count. Tonight I'm going to see Lindsey Stirling. I.can't. wait

Starting tonight, I'll be hosting a 2 hour radio show on "The Metal Machine" segment of my college radio station, the Lion 90.7. My show airs from 1-3 am Eastern Time every Tuesday (Really Wed.) and I have a co-host Mike. Just thought I'd let you guys know and would love if people tuned in and asked for some requests maybe. You can listen here... or at this link... http://thelion.fm/listen/

Wondering if any of you guys had heard of Periphery. They're a Djent band (Spinoff of Prog Metal, think Meshuggah) who I've just started listening to. This album is the better of the two that they have released in my opinion. Regardless, give it a listen and tell me what you think!

Rapper Chris Kelly, the "Mac Daddy" to to Chris Smith's "Daddy Mac", was pronounced dead yesterday evening from an apparent drug overdose. He was 34 years old. Kriss Kross was a early 90's duo famous for wearing the clothes backwards. They reunited earlier this year to perform and it's kind of sad because when I was younger (I was like 12 when "Jump" came out) I totally remember jamming out to their music. My brothers and sisters even used to tease me by singing "Warm it up" and I would just respond "I'm about to!" Sad that drugs takes another young life. Tribute:

Hey guys,

Well I really am excited about this new project I am doing with my friend Kevin Carville, who helped me design nearly all of the ARES sound effects, not to mention a bit on Zero Gear too (he was one of the radio host voices on the Garage radio in that game, ANYWAY). He's also written music for BiteJacker, Jables Adventure, and a lot of little indie games are better off because of him I reckon.

So we've written a lot of incredible stuff together over the last 3 years, and I've known him since I was 4, so that's basically 20 years we've been best mates. Finally we are taking the plunge and beginning acoustic recordings …
