Any suggestions for free conversion software? I need something to change from MP4 to convert to WMA. The software I tried before messed up the audio and Movie Maker didn't work with it.

I noticed there is a spot where it says Reputation, I understand what the feature is for, has it even been implemented? I don't see anywhere to vote for someone's reputation.

Okay, so HDMI is supposedly the best picture you can get, correct? If so, how come when I hook my Xbox up via HDMI, I only get 720p, yet when I go Component, I'm able to get 1080p?

I have windows vista and windows 7 on the same computer but I never use vista anymore for obvious reasons. I have them set up as a dual boot and after a few google searches I have seen many ways of doing it with mixed success. My question is if there is a simple way of going about this without loosing any data on windows 7 and totally removing the vista partition so I can get all my hard drive space back.

Now to make this clear... this is not deciding what monitor windows starts on, but what monitor shows bios settings and all the other text that shows up before the operating system starts. The problem is I have a TV hooked up via VGA and a monitor hooked up via DVI. The computer always starts on the TV then switches over to the monitor. Is there any way that I can get the computer to start up on the monitor instead of the tv. My fear is nothing can be changed since the computer is just outputting to what display it detects first instead of my preference. I'm just afraid since the driver doesn't probably load until the OS starts. So is there anything I can do to change…

Is Alcohol 120%/52% the best game image creator/mount out there? Reason I am asking is because I am trying to install/play my games on my laptop which does not come with a disc drive

So I was messing around on my roommates make trying o play wow when I blew up his background. Initially it was attached to the mouse so wherever i drag my mouse the background followed, super weird. I fixed that but the background is still super huge, and I can't figure out how to max it back to normal. I've tried CTRL scroll but that doesn't seem to fix the problem. any ideas?

So I have an HP 9340f. It has an Nvidia 9500GS vid card (crap card, but it's a "media" card). On the front of my case it was inputs for composite video in (Yellow video, R/W audio). Can I plug my 360 into these ports and view it on my PC? What software would I need? I've tried googling but I'm stumped.

Anybody here ever have an luck with recovering files from an external harddrive? I have an older Lacie 500gb that I believe is hooched (turns on but doesn't load to the desktop, doesn't recognize it in the system preferences either). I know there are several levels and types of data recovery but I'm trying to avoid taking it into Tekserve in Manhattan and paying for them to do it, since that'll be expensive. So today when I got back from school my internet wasn't working. My desktop said it was connected to the network but not the internet. I tried powercycling the modem/router, running Windows troubleshooting, rebooting both PCs, and using the Shaw (My ISP) support download. None of them worked. So when I got back from work it still wasn't working and I decided to phone Shaw support. I have a 100$ gamstop giftcard and I am going to put it towards a new xbox 360 console. A couple of questions. Can my GT exist on both consoles as long as I am only signed in on one console at a time? I want to put one console in my bedroom to watch netflix but I dont want to buy another xboxlive subscription unless I have too. Does anybody know what the holiday bundles will be? I know kinect will be bundled this fall but I would rather get a couple of games or an extra controller. I want the new slim design with the 250 GB HD. Hey, so I've been having some issues with my laptop overheating and crashing, at times I'll have AIM, itunes, firefox, and word open so I've lost data in the past. So i brought it into Staples for a Free Pc tune up. After 1 and half hours of waiting, they said my software was fine, no viruses, and they dusted out my laptop fan. They said though that my laptop's fan doesn't shut off basically and to find out what was wrong would take a $70 diagnostic test. I'm a little tight on cash so I figured why not ask the computer experts here . Anyone have any ideas?

I have made up my mind. Within the next month or two I would like to build myself a new PC. While I have a pretty good knowledge about PCs, I am not 100% sure how to go about finding all the parts and not missing any. I want this PC to be a medium-high end gaming PC that will be able to run anything on at least medium and last for several years without major upgrades. I have a problem. Something came up on my screen a couple of days ago, saying there was a device found on my network called PC-LENNY, and asked if I wanted to share files with this device. I accidentally pressed yes, but didn't think anything of it. Turns out my upload speed has increased and it's kicking me off of Live every so often. How can I change stop this from happening? I think this "Lenny" guy is downloading files from my computer. Please help!
