The latest Xbox Live Newsbeat update included release dates for two pieces of downloadable content that we didn't even know existed. We typically don't care for surprises, but we're willing to make an exception if it means we get more maps for the multiplayer component of BioShock 2 and more things to explode in Just Cause 2. On April 29, six new multiplayer maps will be added to BioShock 2 as part of the "Rapture Metro Map Pack." Starting July 29th you can purchase 2 avatar shirts on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace and decide if Carmine should die or live in Gears of War 3. All profits from the avatar outfits will be going to Child's Play Charity. One shirt reads “Save Carmine,” and the other reads “Carmine Must Die.” By purchasing the “Save Carmine” shirt, you’re casting your vote to let Carmine live in Gears of War 3. Conversely, purchasing the “Carmine Must Die” shirt means you want to see Clayton follow the fate of his brothers. Anyone else pick this up today? I gotta say I am really enjoying this game. They finally rebooted and did Lara Croft some justice. The graphics, voice acting, set pieces are all top notch so far. It's like living a movie. All the game mechanics so far feel very familiar from other games but in a good way. Combat is fun and I can't wait to see what happens next. There is sections that feel like puzzles but nothing overly tough yet. Will keep you updated. Vec

A bug affecting some players of Borderlands 2 is apparently wiping unlocked progress on all platforms. As noted in a 33-page thread on the official Gearbox forums, some players are starting up the game to find Badass Ranks, golden keys, heads, skins and achievement progress reset to zero. Worse still, menus displaying the content or challenges don’t actually reset, meaning the game thinks the content is unlocked even if you don’t have access to it, so you can’t re-earn skins or replay challenges in order to get them back. For those of you who have played it, whats your thoughts on the Beta? I think it tries too hard to be an exact clone (or close to) Battlefield Bad Company 1 and 2. Its somewhat fun, and I prefer it over Modern Warfare 2 (which doesn't mean much), but I feel its a little bland, it got boring pretty fast. Bogey and I have came to the conclusion that it sucks ***.

Gearbox Software has confirmed that the name of the next major Borderlands 2 DLC expansion is Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt. No release date for the DLC is currently available, but it will be free to Borderlands 2 Season Pass holders and retail for $10 (800 MSP) standalone. Whatcha think? I think it looks really good, and interesting. Treyarch hasn't had a nice track record with fans though. Since Infinity Ward has pretty much disbanded. It's up to them to make a decent Call Of Duty.
