Call Of Duty Black Ops Debut Trailer

Featured Replies

Whatcha think? I think it looks really good, and interesting. Treyarch hasn't had a nice track record with fans though. Since Infinity Ward has pretty much disbanded. It's up to them to make a decent Call Of Duty.

From what I can take from this teaser, it's a Spec Ops guy that for some reason is having flashbacks to missions from Vietnam to the present day?

A lot of bits and pieces of cut scene that show a lot of nothing. I'm not gonna hold my breath over this release. W@W was terrible online with so many glitches, despite being pretty much a reskinned CoD4. The campaign wasn't anything special either unless you count the blood pressure raising grenade spam of Veteran.

Beyond the initial out of maps glitches, which didn't take that long to get fixed if I remember right, wasn't really much wrong with WaWs multiplayer, besides the unbalanced MP40 in the console versions, which really wasn't nearly as bad it was made out to be. It never got near akimbo 1887 levels of unbalanced or MW2 levels of glitches.

Campaign was just decent, not bad, but certainly didn't live up to the other CoD games.

I couldn't have said it any better myself. WAW was awful, I'm hoping Black Ops is a lot better.

MW2's worst glitch was the Javelin glitch. The rest were the rest of modders rather than bad coding. W@W had a ton of out of map glitches, terrain that could be glitched into, elevator glitches etc. and some still weren't patched by the time I traded my copy in. Yes the 1887's were overpowered but they were patched, I watched snipers being out ranged with the MP40.

Even the campaign in W@W had plenty of glitches, you could walk through friendly tanks and use them as moving cover ffs!

I still feel that W@W was a reskin of CoD4, in some cases even down to the weapons; STG44=G36C, M1=M14, M1 Carbine = G3, MP40 & extended mags = P90.

Yeah, definitely was a re-skin of CoD4, but from what I heard Treyarch WAS working on their own engine, but after the sales of 4 Activision forced them to just reuse everything they could from 4. No proper source that I know of so it could be complete bull, but knowing Activision it isn't to far fetched.

Never had any glitches I can recall in the campaign, it was just kinda boring and nothing to original, lol

I think the carepackage glitch is still going around on MW2, in another way to do it then however it was originally done.

Treyarch blows almost as much as MW2. Cod4 was way better. But back on subject anything vietnam is a purchase for me and also, was that a bomb squad guy that I saw?

When I heard that the next CoD game was meant to be based in the Vietnam era I was genuinely excited. The last good game on the Vietnam War I played was Shellshock on the original Xbox (the sequel was terrible).

Maybe if the trailer had shown a little more, not simply hinting at Assassins Creed type recollection and lots of explosions I might have been interested.

I wonder when Mario will wake up in a hospital room and have Drs. in the background saying "We have to bring him back"...? I mean really? Cliche much?dry.gif

That will probably happen when Nintendo places Mario in an open world action game, or an FPS. I can see it now, "Mario's Forgotten Adventure" or "Aliens vs. Mario." That said, I don't know about this game. I refuse to support Activision, but I can at least appreciate Treyarch attempting another game. I personally did not enjoy CoD 3 or W@W, but who knows, maybe this game will be different enough to warrant a look. Psh, who am I kidding, it's Activision after all, they wouldn't know creativity if someone threw a Picasso painting at them. I'll keep my doubts for now, unless they do something really awesome with this game. I guess we'll see at E3.
