  1. Started by green grenades,

Look at my new puppy. He is a 5 week old border collie and I still don't have a name for him.

These toys can cause some serious injuries including genital bleeding in young girls...so please if you or a friend or family member have bought Fisher Price products since the 90's (yeah the recalls are on some products that were made in the 90's) please pass this along. Thankfully known of my sons have any of these toys. Recalled Items Article

This is pretty nifty. Scientists believe that the chance of this planet containing some kind of life is nearly 100%. Linky "The discovery of a 'Goldilocks' planet--it's not too hot, not too cold--is thrilling scientists who think the planet may have the right conditions to sustain life. Located in the 'Goldilocks' zone, the planet is about 120 trillion miles (20 light years) from Earth. That sounds far but scientists say that's actually 'right next door' considering the size of the universe. This discovery, the first of its kind, excites some researches who believe the chances of life on the 'Goldilocks' planet are nearly 100 percent. Find out more about this new disco…

  4. Don't try to get the 1 month for $1 deal. Apparently you can only have one auto renewal at a time, and it will override the previous one. After the single $1 month, it will autorenew for $10 a month ($120 a year). This pissed me off so I just spent 20 minutes trying to find where I can disable auto-renewal. At least I got it turned off and canceled all of those renewals without having to call Xbox Support. I don't even care if I get the Noble Six helmet anymore (Halo Reach unlockable ones and the EVA I'm using look cooler anyways), Microsoft is being a pain in the a ss and all of these deals suddenly popping up when the price is going to be raised seem to be putting …

I know this should be in the topic in the TV forum I've already created, by I'm afraid if I post in it people will just see it in the new posts list and glaze over it because they don't watch the show so don't have an interest in discussing it, but this is a request which can be moved back to that thread in a few hours if possible. Just want people to see it here first! There's a big push by fans of Stargate Universe to get others to start watching this as it's teetering on the edge of cancellation because since it's main audience is technologically literate people, a lot of them torrent it. If you haven't watched it, give tonight a try. It's meant to be a great episode,…

  8. AOL News "(Oct. 6) -- A small rural community in western Tennessee is outraged and the fire chief is nursing a black eye after firefighters stood by and watched a mobile home burn to the ground because the homeowner hadn't paid a $75 municipal fee. South Fulton city firefighters -- equipped with trucks, hoses and other firefighting equipment -- didn't intervene to save Gene Cranick's doublewide trailer home when it caught fire last week. But they did arrive on the scene to protect the house of a neighbor, who had paid his fire subscription fee. "I just forgot to pay my $75," Cranick told ABC News. "I did it last year, the year before. ... It slipped my mind." Later tha…

Hey Siren (and all others) do you remember when I asked if I could pick your brain about photograph? Well if you have the time could you give me some advice and idiot proof settings? I'm not much of a photographer and I really don't have too much of a background in it or patients for it. I know a lot of it is I need to read the manual better and I just need to take my camera out and learn to use the damn thing. That being said I'm not interested in taking photos of anything, but using it for stop motion projects at home. Since stop motion is just animating frame by frame a lot of the things you do for photography will be able to help me out. The problem I'm running into …

YAY! Technician is finally coming out today to fix my giant Sony TV! No more using my 32" LCD as the main TV in the home, so I can slap that puppy back over onto the computer desk to have a giant computer monitor again. SUPER YAY! :binago:

NY Post Has Chelsea become so trendy even Martians are scouting for co-ops? A silvery vision of a dozen balloon-like dots hovering in yesterday's clear-blue sky over West 23rd Street had thousands speculating the mysterious objects might be UFOs. Callers began phoning the NYPD and Federal Aviation Administration at 1:30 p.m. with reports of the strange, silver objects high in the sky. "Some people saw something described as yellow with blue lights surrounding it," said FAA spokesman Jim Peters. He added that if the objects were weather balloons -- as some suggested -- his agency had no prior notification they'd be launched. Jason DiamondLOOK, UP IN THE SKY! A crowd …

  16. Just wondering how the people on gamercide start their day food wise, probably because I'm starving at the moment but i thought you guys would be up for the challenge of surprising me. As for myself, my favorite would have to be a big platter(small meals don't cut it in the morning for me) of french toast, waffles with strawberries loads of syrup, regular toast with an assortment of jellies and jams, eggs, mostly scrambled but some sunny-side up for spilling all over my place and swabbing up, BACON LOTS OF IT, and something i can slather in bbq sauce. *edit: Oh yeah and lots of seasoned hashbrowns and for everyday... well put simply I'm like an effing horse, get me a big…

  19. A computer science student wrote a paper for one of his classes entitled, "Disadvantadges and advantadges of networks". Sounds pretty generic right? Nothing interesting to read there, huh? Well what if I told you he placed a hidden message of epic proportions within his college paper to test to see if his professor REALLY was reading it? After 8 hours of properly formatting his paper to include the acrostic message, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the most outstanding and creative RickRoll I have EVER SEEN. 20. http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,2845,2371219,00.asp?kc=ETRSS02129TX1K0000532 NASA Ames Director Simon "Pete" Worden announced that the organization has begun work on a joint project with DARPA to develop a "Hundred Year Starship" that could ferry humans to Mars—in one direction. Kind of hard to fathom we're getting to a point where this is a possibility and maybe even something that will happen in our lifetimes.

So I got some awesome news in the mail yesterday!!! I've finished paying off another student loan!! WOO HOO!! (you can skip this part) Okay here's a small back story .. Since I'm Canadian and wanted to go to school in the USA (New Jersey) my loan was split up over 3 different places. One was Royal Bank of Canada (RBC for my Canadian brethren), the other two were from the province of British Columbia, and one from the federal government. So I had 3 loan payments to make a month. It got kinda messy when I moved to the USA 7 or 8 years ago because we (me and the loan offices) had to figure out a way for me to make payments and have them accept it. Companies or government ar…

I know all of us are a creative bunch. I'm wondering, are any of you exceptional artists? I'm looking for someone to draw me something (here be dragons) and wondered if maybe any of you were up to the task? And in case you're wondering what it's for, I plan on using it as the cover art for a novel I'm writing.

I never thought it would happen, but Brock got brutalized. Cain Velasquez managed to weather the storm as Brock came out strong and hard at the start of the first round. He then showed that technique triumphs over horsepower. Giving up a significant 20 pounds to the champ, he not only won, but won decisively as he beat Brock into a bloody pulp at about four minutes into the first round. Jake Shields made his UFC debut with a lackluster win over Martin Kampman. Though there are questions about whether the 20 pound drop in weight to make 170 was a decisive factor in his conditioning. He looked absolutely exhausted by the third round, but managed to pull off the W. Die…
