Fisher Price Recalls 11 Million Toys

Featured Replies

These toys can cause some serious injuries including genital bleeding in young girls...so please if you or a friend or family member have bought Fisher Price products since the 90's (yeah the recalls are on some products that were made in the 90's) please pass this along. Thankfully known of my sons have any of these toys.

I know that's a serious injury for little girls/children probably, but recalling toys for the past thirteen years over a small handful of injuries seems a little excessive.

Out of 7+ million trikes there were 10 injuries? That's less than 0.000001% chance of injury. *shrugs*

It is something to be aware of but I do have to agree with Chris .. seems a bit excessive.

Listen to the insurance guy. He knows odds.

The more serious recall on the same page was the nature valley granola thin bars. It may not seem like it to some, but that can actually kill someone. I know because my nephew is one of the unlucky few with the highest level of allergic reactions to peanut products. Even the leftover peanut oil from an improperly washed knife after using it with peanut butter is enough to kill him. If he doesn't get an epinephrine shot within five minutes of allergic reaction his airways completely close.

I agree. It only takes one thing to happen. That's why a couple years ago when they had that massive recall for lead found in an Elmo toy, Granite had the same one and we got rid of it, b/c he was at the stage where everything went in his mouth. Then when we had Logan we bought one of those cribs that do not have any dropdown sides...it was a bit expensive, but I would rather be cautious than take a chance with either of my boys lives.

Yeah, look at McDonalds. When that new Shrek movie came out they had these collectors glasses you could buy.

Guess what? MADE IN CHINA ---> LEAD PAINT. The lead rubs off on your hands. You're generally eating food when you're drinking out of the cup, so the lead gets on your hands, then on your food, then in your mouth. :(

that's what outsourcing does .. there's no law in China that says you CAN'T put lead into paint
