General Discussion

In a bipartisan effort, the House of Representatives and the United States Senate approved the Conference Committee report on spending bill H2112, which among other things, funds the United States Department of Agriculture. On November 18th, as the country was celebrating Thanksgiving, President Obama signed a law, allowing Americans to kill and eat horses. Essentially, one turkey was pardoned in the presence of worldwide media while in the shadows, buried under pages of fiscal regulation, millions of horses were sentenced to death. Horse slaughter has been prohibited in the United States as funding for inspections of horses in transit and at slaughter houses was non-exi…

The maker of Twinkies and Wonder Bread, is filing for Chapter 11 backruptcy protection for the second time in recent years, the Wall Street Journal reports. Those familiar with the company blamed the skyrocketing costs of flour, sugar and other key baking ingredients as well as snowballing debt. Now I have to go.

So, we bought a new car for my wife this past week. Of course, it wouldn't fit in the garage. Since she was eyeballing the Supra's spot I had to take quick action. I guess you would call it a subtraction instead of an addition. Took 12in off my garage step. The white mark on the ground is where it use to be.

Haven't been on here in a good while , almost forgot about this great forum . How is everyone ? Im really trying to get back into the whole gaming thing . I took a little break but I wanna give it another shot . What games are everyone playing ? I mainly play GTA , COD , & FIFA !

http://penny-arcade....evelopers-and-p I don't care for Kuchera at all, but I like this article. I love that Valve's sale basically saved the developers of Jamestown. I know I was one of the people that picked it up during the summer sale.

Just wondering how everyone's weekend went. I had a pretty good one myself. Even though I was called back into work Friday. Can't really complain because it netted me some extra money. Got up Saturday and went to Keeneland to watch the Derby. Ended up only spending around 40 bucks counting drinks and betting so a good day overall. Before the day was over I found my wife and I thoroughly trashed. We were home laughing at how early it was (9pm) and drunk out of our minds before I wake up at 2am thinking it was 2 in the afternoon the next day. Slept off and on (up and down drinking glass after glass of water) until noon Sunday. Meandered around the house until around 1.…

It's awesome.

So many of you know my 16 year old miniature dachshund, Madeline, passed away last month. It was super heartbreaking for me, as it is for anyone who loses a pet. My other dog I have (a 3 year old "Silkchon" (silky terrier/bichon mix) also has been taking it pretty hard without having her sister to play with. I looked for a few weeks around at local shelters and it's been difficult because all they have are HUGE dogs, or elderly dogs and tons of pit bulls. Not that I have anything against them, but I really wanted another smaller dog (under 20lbs preferably) and wanted something still young and less than a year old. I had been using Petfinder and came across a li…

It's huge. I'm exhautsed. Been working on this now for weeks. Place was a wreck when we first got here (not really a WRECK, but needed new blinds and definite steam cleaning of rugs and mopping, new bathroom stuff, etc), but it's all good so far. Everything is boxes. It's crazy, but it will work out. I had to hook up the PC to see what the speeds were and also hook up the 360 to keep my gaming streak going. (1097 days STRAIGHT. Damn, this was a feat to kep it going considering the move. LoL!) But yeah. It's going to be a lot of unboxing for awhile. Now I need to unhook the pc and move some stuff back so it's out of the way. On a side note, my download speed tripl…

Game developers should know this isn’t a yes or no question. Unlike old school bankers stuck in the vainglorious days of million-dollar pool parties, or alarmist CEOs who call for massive layoff’s at the first sign of trouble, most game developers have had the privilege of seeing things from the underdog perspective. By their nature underdogs tend to challenge the status quo and eschew the easy answers. Rather than sink or swim, we might make a sail, build a submarine, or find a hundred different ways to get out of the water. We’ve just never been as limited in our thinking as those other guys, right? Then why is it that game developers are beginning to drown in a culture…

http://instantsfun.es/ Leeroy Jenkins FTW. I've hit that button probably twenty times now. LoL

And NOOOOO one has a thread wishing Siren Happy Birthday, so here it is, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIREN. Have a great day.

Hey, Bethesda! Let’s settle this! I am back, and I am excited. Marriage has been wonderful so far, and nobody sabotaged my computer while I was gone. The only negative thing going on at this moment is the Scrolls trademark lawsuit nonsense, and I think I came up with the perfect solution: Remember that scene in Game of Thrones where Tyrion chose a trial by battle in the Eyrie? Well, let’s do that instead! I challenge Bethesda to a game of Quake 3. Three of our best warriors against three of your best warriors. We select one level, you select the other, we randomize the order. 20 minute matches, highest total frag count per team across both levels wins. If we win, you drop…

In my current college semester I am in an Introduction to Public Speaking class, and this was my first major speech. I think it went well enough for me to share. It is an informative speech about what video game live streaming/broadcasting is, its origins, and how it has influenced gamers and the gaming industry. Other than a couple verbal stumbles and note checks when I lost my place, I think it went quite well.
