My headset arrived today in Astro headquarters. I get an email telling me 10 days until I'll hear something back, cool. 30 minutes later: You're item has been replaced and shipped back. Holy hell.

So, this is a pretty cool read. It's detailed instructions on how to gut your Xbox 360 and PS3 and combine both of them into one PC tower case. Pretty damn cool consolidation of space. Incredibly long and not for the faint of heart, but if I was less lazy I'd try it. http://timofiend.blogspot.com/2011/09/hi-there-my-names-timofiend-or-tim-as.html

I've been reading some articles about fangames which have been shut down by game companies such as Nintendo, Square-Enix, Sega, etc. From what I've heard, Streets of Rage remake was shutdown by Sega, Super Mario Bros. X was shutdown by Nintendo, and more. They say it's because of copyright infringement, but they are just being mean I think. Fangames never hurt anyone. If I were the president of Sega or Nintendo or Capcom or Segtendcom or whatever, I wouldn't mind having people make fangames like those. I'd even urge them to go on, like maybe, Capcom, who was more than friendly and allowed Megaman 2.5D to be continuously worked on. In fact, when people create fangames, the…

  9. In a paper published July 27 in the journal PLoS One, the researchers tested their drug against 15 viruses, and found it was effective against all of them — including rhinoviruses that cause the common cold, H1N1 influenza, a stomach virus, a polio virus, dengue fever and several other types of hemorrhagic fever. The drug works by targeting a type of RNA produced only in cells that have been infected by viruses. “In theory, it should work against all viruses,” says Todd Rider, a senior staff scientist in Lincoln Laboratory’s Chemical, Biological, and Nanoscale Technologies Group who invented the new technology. Because the technology is so broad-spectrum, it could potenti…

A major development out of Cupertino: Apple CEO Steve Jobs has stepped down, the board naming Tim Cook as his replacement. The company said "Steve's extraordinary vision and leadership saved Apple and guided it to its position as the world's most innovative and valuable technology company." Steve himself published the following letter: I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come. I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee. As far as my successo…

SURPRISE! You're now the proud owner of a limited edition shiny 360 s console! Microsoft said all Xbox 360 consoles will soon ship with a matte finish, ditching the gloss finish first used for the slim models introduced last June. The 4GB unit currently uses a matte finish. "We are actively transitioning all our Xbox 360 S consoles to a matte finish," said Xbox Live's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb. "The consoles will start to arrive in stores over the coming weeks, so if you really love the idea of a glossy console don't wait much longer." Astronomers have spotted an exotic planet that seems to be made of diamond racing around a tiny star in our galactic backyard. The new planet is far denser than any other known so far and consists largely of carbon. Because it is so dense, scientists calculate the carbon must be crystalline, so a large part of this strange world will effectively be diamond. "The evolutionary history and amazing density of the planet all suggest it is comprised of carbon -- i.e. a massive diamond orbiting a neutron star every two hours in an orbit so tight it would fit inside our own Sun," said Matthew Bailes of Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne. Lying 4,000 light years away,…

  16. I'm posting from my laptop. I had another BSoD that, when viewed with a program called BlueScreenView, seemed to be related to the GPU, as tech support informed me. I had it before when I first got my system and it was buggy, but I reformatted it and haven't had any problems since. A couple hours ago I just got that BSoD again, called tech support, got the info, and just shipped out the GPU. It was under suspicion of being faulty since I got it, so now I'm getting it RMA'd. Only cost to me was $7.50 shipping. The system was still fully usable, but I wanted to get the GPU replaced ASAP if it's not working completely right and will have the occasional error. Not reall…

Hey, Bethesda! Let’s settle this! I am back, and I am excited. Marriage has been wonderful so far, and nobody sabotaged my computer while I was gone. The only negative thing going on at this moment is the Scrolls trademark lawsuit nonsense, and I think I came up with the perfect solution: Remember that scene in Game of Thrones where Tyrion chose a trial by battle in the Eyrie? Well, let’s do that instead! I challenge Bethesda to a game of Quake 3. Three of our best warriors against three of your best warriors. We select one level, you select the other, we randomize the order. 20 minute matches, highest total frag count per team across both levels wins. If we win, you drop…

FXCK YOU. You make crappy unreliable consoles that a Russian manufacturer would be ashamed to make. I am not going to pay more money to transfer my saves. You greedy money grubbing a holes. Of course my xbox didn't come with the transfer cable. I thought it was in there but it was the ac cables and they aren't even for HD tv's why waste money putting those in there when most people have HD tv's now. Microsoft can blow me.

  20. The Chinese media has reported on an extraordinary account of a mother bear saving her cub from a life of torture by strangling it and then killing itself. The bears were kept in a farm located in a remote area in the North-West of China. The bears on the farm had their gall bladders milked daily for 'bear bile,' which is used as a remedy in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It was reported that the bears are kept in tiny cages known as 'crush cages', as the bears have no room to manoeuvre and are literally crushed. I suppose mine is kicking the bucket. It all started with that mess of a game Lgay noire. It constantly freezes on games, no rings or anything and everything else runs just fine. I even took out the hard drive to see if it was some sort of corrupt save. Anyways instead of being pissed for weeks I just need to get a new box. Any Suggestions? Something that comes with a good sized harddrive i have the min one that came out release which is like 20 or 16 or something small.

Click here to see some of the devastation http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/8691651/London-riots-before-and-after-the-destruction-in-Croydon-Hackney-and-Enfield.html Looks like this was well planned out, too. Why? Because an officer shot a civilian? Boo at you, sheep. You're doing exactly what these planners wanted you to do. They'll be miles away when the police arrive and start to arrest you. You, the local idiots, scarring your own hometowns and neighbors. This sickens me as well. How could you mug a little kid who is injured!? You despicable animals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Gex_ya4-Oo
