http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-09-23-rumour-project-milo-cancelled No surprise here since it's been rumored for a while now.. but it's clear that this entire project was vaporware from the get-go. Kind of sucks since I've never played Fable before. Was looking forward to an innovative new IP. Instead we get the same old crap.

Back in 2008, Microsoft was facing a public relations worse nightmare, “RROD”. “RROD” which stands for Red Ring of Death, was the name that was given to the Xbox 360 by it’s outraged buyers after the Xbox 360 would overheat and cause a failure requiring the system to be sent in for repairs or else the gamer spending more money on a brand new console. What does that have to do with Marines? In 2008, an angry group of Marines decided to take their frustration out on their Xbox 360 that “RROD’d” three times. PS3 fanboys prepare to wet your pants out of sheer enjoyment and Xbox 360 huggers grab some tissues and begin to prepare your rant. View the full article

When the trailer for the newest Elder Scrolls V was shown at the Spike Video Game Awards last Saturday there excitement, squealing, and then confusion amongst fans of the series who have waited years to hear anything regarding a new Elder Scrolls game. The confusion came from a tweet from Bethesda later that night in which Bethesda said, “Seeing lots of speculation about #tesv game engine. It’s brand new… and it’s spectacular!”. Well consider yourself confused no more, because Bethesda’s Community Manager, Nick Breckon has sorted the issue out. According to Breckon, Skyrim will feature a completely “brand new, internally created, gameplay and graphics engine”. The Elder…

Developed by: Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Annecy (multiplayer) Published by: Ubisoft Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3 Players: 1 offline, with 4-8 player multiplayer Rated M (Mature) by the ESRB Assassin’s Creed II was a great game and improved upon the already revolutionary first Assassin’s Creed in almost every conceivable way. With Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Ubisoft aims to improve even further upon an already great series, even adding a completely new multiplayer mode. But is it worth the full price, or is it little more than an expansion? You don’t need to read to the end of this review to know my personal impression of this game. The answer is yes, the game is abso…

Developed by: Arrowhead Game Studios Published by: Paradox Interactive Platforms: PC Players: 1-4 Rated T (Teen) by the ESRB What happens when you combine the style and humor of Castle Crashers with gameplay reminiscent of Diablo? Magic happens. Or rather Magicka happens, to be more precise. That’s not to say that Magicka is very much like either of those games, rather it has a very distinct style of its own. But like Castle Crashers it is a stylish, humorous, and fun experience that can be played and enjoyed with friends, and like Diablo the game has very smooth, isometric gameplay where you can run around slaughtering hordes of monsters and fiends to your hearts …

Developed by: Colossal Order Published by: Paradox Interactive Platforms: PC Players: 1 Rated E (Everyone) by the ESRB Throughout my many years playing games on the PC I’ve played quite a lot of titles. I love a game that makes you think and so much of my PC experience has leaned towards titles that fall within the strategy genre, which to me includes city-building, real time strategy, turn based war games and quite a few other “sims”. However let me be frank with you all. I’ve never in my life played a “transportation sim” so keep that in mind while you digest my take on Paradox & Colossal’s new title Cities in Motion. You won’t find any comparisons to Sid Mei…

The latest news in the rumor mill has Take Two Interactive registering what appears to be several different domain names for the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series. According to video game blog Ripten, Take Two has registered CashForDeadDreams.com, SixFigureTemps.com, StopPayingYourMortgage.net, HammersteinFaust.com, and LifeInvader.com between January 26th and January 7th showing signs that Rockstar and Take Two will be continuing the tradition of viral advertising like they did with GTA IV that included the “Wanted” posters that were put up in different cities in New York. That is if this rumor proves to be true. via Ripten Tweet This Post View the f…

Downloadable Content, otherwise known as DLC, in my opinion is a double-edged sword. It’s additional content that can elicit joyous responses from fanboys across the world who are eager to get their controller handling mitts on new maps for the latest Call of Duty title, while at the same time evoke furious feelings of rage regarding what many consider to be overpriced. This is all in reference however to post-launch content, which in many cases can be a great thing, but one thing in particular bothers me personally. The dreaded PRE-LAUNCH DLC! Pre-launch DLC is becoming more and more common these days, with many games such as Bioware’s Dragon Age 2 even offering DLC th…

Do you like to play open ended sandbox-styled games like [insert any open-ended game here]? According to DICE’s Patrick Bach who is serving as the Executive Producer to Battlefield 3, you are in the minority because sandbox games just plain suck. “In some cases they aren’t, but in most cases sandbox games are hardcore, boring, hard to get into and they are not very popular.” You hear that kiddos? If you play GTA, Saint’s Row, Red Dead Remption, or even Battlefield 2: Bad Company that DICE worked on that is considered “sandboxish” then you are playing a game that is at the bottom of every gaming barrel. via Edge Online Tweet This Post View the full article

Gears fans anxiously awaiting for the September 20 release of Gears of War 3 might find the following little nugget of information bitter sweet. Executive producer Rod Fergusson spoke to CVG and said that fans will finally get closure to the Marcus Fenix story, however the universe within Gears will go on. “We’re not blowing up the world so Sera and the Gears universe will live on, but for us we didn’t want to betray our customers and community by having a cliff-hanger ending where you’re like ‘argh I just got duped, now I’ve gotta wait until the next game. We wanted to have closure, we wanted people to have some satisfaction that they were along for this ride and they …
