Tiger Woods Has Been Dropped From The Cover Of His Own Video Game!

ROFL!

EA says to "not read into" it, but seriously I can't think of any other reason than the scandals. He's been on the cover of the video games for like, what, over ten years?

...I can't think of any other reason than the scandals...

Other than the fact that he has SUCKED since he returned. lol

He is literally a shadow of his former self and they need to drop his name completely and pick up one of the other top players. Maybe Lee Westwood, Martin Kaymer, or Phil Mickelson. Sure Tiger is still the #2 player in the world, but if he has another season like last year (After his return), I look for the game to get a new spokesman for the next one.

tiger.jpgIn a rather ballsy move, EA has decided to drop Tiger Woods as the cover boy from his own series of video games and has replaced the disgraced golfer’s face with a golf hole flag from Augusta National Golf Club.

According to Fox News, Tiger Woods not showing any signs of embarrassment of the removal said that he is excited for the game.

EA’s Peter Moore has also released a statement trying to stop rumors that they are beginning to slowly remove Tiger Woods from the brand, because the sales of Tiger Woods video games have dropped 60% since his cheating scandal broke out in 2009.

“f the insinuation is it’s a reflection of EA Sports backing away from its relationship that goes back literally 13 years with Tiger, that’s not the case whatsoever. You shouldn’t read into the fact that Tiger’s not featured on the box art of that particular edition,

"Tiger is right there on the PS3 version of the game with Move support, which was very good for us and Sony last year. We'll continue that."

The PS3 Collector's Edition will retail for $10 more when the game releases March 29, 2011. The Collector's Edition will be the only version to have Tiger Woods face on the cover.

In other news, if you pre-order his newest game from Amazon, you get a 'real' putter. Actually, it's just a putter head on top of a large dowel. lol

haha. That's just funny. Honestly I've always been amazed by the player promos. I mean, does it really get more people to buy it because his face is on it? I guess it does, but I'll never understand it.

That article that I found mentioned that it's not just the games, sales for Golf as a whole has dropped dramatically. Tiger was the face of Golf you might as well say and I think he is done.
