I re-posted this back on the ATC, but I feel it needs to be read again. http://bunnyears.net/dan/?p=1057 Seriously, ellipsis' are rude and very much annoying, when not used appropriately. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellipsis It's intended for a slight pause in speech. It's even fine for chat or IM's, when you want to indicate you're about to continue your discussion with another big block of text. It's not something you end each sentence with, or to leave as an insult. If you're annoyed with someone or something, say what it is. One period is the perfect number to end your sentence with. I put this in General Discussion, because I take this seriously. If you do, too, ple…

I downloaded Marathon a few months ago and loved it. So the achievements are odd numbers and totally have made my gamerscore funky. Unfortunately I can't play Marathon anymore and get the rest of the achievements, because it causes me to get motion sickness. Does anybody know of a game that has a random 4 point achievement or something like that so that I can get my gamerscore back to normal. It's irritating the fudge out of me!

I'm going to try and make this short, but I feel like ranting a little bit. I cannot understand why keyboards and mice aren't supported better on consoles. I found myself playing Halo Reach last night, and I love the game. Also, despite my horrific ability in FPS with a controller I was attempting Legendary. I'm only about 2 chapters into it and at the going rate I don't think I am going to be able to do it without becoming way too frustrated. I just don't have the coordination to keep up with some of the enemies with a controller. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I would be awesome with a mouse and keyboard, but I would at least have an enjoyable chance tryin…

While many websites who reported about this little gem of a quote from Treyarch’s Community Manager, Josh Olin, raved and agreed with him, there will be no brown stained lip action here. In fact I find the following quote down right sad. In an interview with NowGamer, Olin talks about Black Ops and the new map pack that released on February 1, First Strike. At the end of interview that was going rather well, NowGamer asks, “What, in your mind, is the biggest problem facing the games industry today, and if you had the power, how would you fix it?” Olin’s response, “Personally, as a community manager who lives in the media or social media world every day, I think the soc…

Hailing from the UK, we have Dawn Matthews and her 11 year old son Brendan Jordan. Brendan Jordan recently went on a spending spree and spent a total of $1,743.49 on XBL all while using his mother’s credit card. His mother, 37 year old Dawn Matthews is blaming Microsoft despite the little fact that she provided information to her son’s account. Matthews, who’s son claimed he did not know that the charges were going to his mother’s bank account had the following to say regarding her son’s expenses. “When I put my card details in 18 months ago I thought it was just for his membership to play online with his friends. I work two jobs just to look after my family and pay th…

True Crime is no longer. Forget about any sequels for that series. Guitar Hero will only be DLC now. They're also cutting some jobs. No mention of how many jobs, though.

Today’s Fail of the Day is being brought to you by previous Fail of the Week winner, Fox News. Every now and then Fox News decides to take step out of the daily national and worldwide news and try something different, like writing about video games that are considered “controversial”. Take Bulletstorm for example. Fox News claimed that playing Bulletstorm will make you rape women and that the “possibly worst video game ever” is a bad influence on today’s youthful fragile minds. What could be more fail-tacular than their ground breaking study on Bulletstorm? According Fox News, Duke Nukem is taking “sexism” to a whole new level in Duke Nukem Forever and that we should…

A study of 42 gamers aged 15 to 21 who played for at least ten hours a week revealed that most have experienced ‘games transfer phenomena’ – doing or thinking things in real life as if they were still in a fantasy environment. The report said a few participants reported ‘criminal thoughts’ such as recreating Grand Theft Auto, which awards points for ‘wrecking things and killing people’ while they are driving. Read the rest of this nonsense below http://www.metro.co.uk/tech/876093-gamers-cant-tell-real-world-from-fantasy-say-researchers

What is an Energy Vampire? Intruding on your life, ignoring boundaries and privacy (energy vampires don't think of you). Making big deals out of nothing. Energy vampires are often called "drama queens" because they can turn a broken nail into a Shakespearean tragedy. Complaining constantly about their partners, jobs, children, bad luck, and illnesses. Energy vampires like to vent. Criticizing your hair, appearance, job, children, partner, friends, and pets (energy vampires aren't positive). Not taking "no" for an answer. Energy vampires don't consider your needs. Being unrelentingly negative. Their negative energy is relentless, and energy vampires drain your positive ene…

An 18-year-old teenager, Ramarley Graham, was killed in his home in the Bronx last week by plainclothes cops. A member of the narcotics unit shot the unarmed teenager in his bathroom. While details of the tragedy are still unfolding, it appears that the teen had a small amount of marijuana on him, so walked home to get away from the cops because he didn't want to be arrested. The cops followed him, broke into his home and killed him in his bathroom while he was trying to flush a small amount of marijuana down the toilet. The police officer who shot Graham said he believed the young man had a gun. He did not -- no weapons were found. The bottom line is that an 18-year-old …

The beginning is a bit slow, but please stick with it. I can't express how important the message is. Get to know Joseph Kony. Make him famous enough to capture! **Update** Read these two links before you share the video with anyone, and before you drop a dime in contributions. http://thedailywh.at/2012/03/07/on-kony-2012-2/ http://facecrooks.com/Internet-Safety-Privacy/kony-2012-invisible-children-awareness-campaign-read-this-before-sharing-their-video.html Sorry for alerting you to something that may not be as helpful as it first sounded.

http://gamepolitics.com/2012/04/12/gog-steams-discounting-practices-hurt-gamers-devalue-games This interview kind of pisses me off. I've been fed up on paying full retail on games for a long time. I recently sold 123 games on craigslist for $600. Most of which were bought brand new at $60. Sure, I could have sold each individually, but by the time I was done, I would have gotten maybe a few hundred more and wasted way too much time with shipping and meeting people on craigslist. Not only that, only the good would sell first, leaving me stuck with the crappy ones that no one wants. So yeah, I know the value of my games very well. Less than 10% of what I originally paid for…

On Monday, the Miami Herald posted an article about rising support for legalized medical marijuana in the state of Florida. The article mentioned an pro-pot activist named Cathy Jordan, who uses the drug to mitigate the symptoms of Lou Gehrig's disease. The article mentioned Sen. Jeff Clemens (D-Lake worth), who is sponsoring a bill to legalize the drug. That bill is named after Jordan. The Bradeton Herald now reports that just hours after that article ran, a team of ski-mask-clad deputies from the Manatee County Sheriff's Department staged a guns-drawn raid on Robert and Cathy Jordan's home. According to Robert Jordan, the cops seized 23 marijuana plants, including th…
