September 21, 201115 yr comment_45579 A study of 42 gamers aged 15 to 21 who played for at least ten hours a week revealed that most have experienced ‘games transfer phenomena’ – doing or thinking things in real life as if they were still in a fantasy environment. The report said a few participants reported ‘criminal thoughts’ such as recreating Grand Theft Auto, which awards points for ‘wrecking things and killing people’ while they are driving.Read the rest of this nonsense belowhttp://www.metro.co.uk/tech/876093-gamers-cant-tell-real-world-from-fantasy-say-researchers Report
September 21, 201115 yr comment_45582 Is it wrong to say I'm a slightly bit more aware of my surroundings in real life, from video games? They give you an edge, most definitely. Report
September 21, 201115 yr comment_45591 Grand theft auto doesnt give you points for rynning people over or killing them. Actually you are penalized.because then you have cops after you. Report
September 21, 201115 yr Author comment_45592 Precisely. Which is why a journalist who knows nothing about games, shouldn't be writing an article about how bad they might be.Really makes you question journalism in general. If they don't fact check articles about games, what else are they writing about, but not checking? Report
September 21, 201115 yr comment_45593 So I've taken a handful of statistics classes and can say that gaining info from only 42 gamers who were prob not randomly chosen shows that this info is prob very skewed and inaccurate of the "average" gamer which the study should be targeting. The sample size is way too small to really gather any credible info. Report
September 21, 201115 yr Author comment_45594 The fact that they used 42 people in the study made me question the validity of it. 42 is a pretty famous number, so I thought it was a hoax article. Still hoping it is, actually. Report

September 21, 201115 yr Author comment_45601 That's really good to hear, actually. Strange that they also review videogames. lol Report
September 22, 201115 yr comment_45606 I'm sure gamers on Xbox live will really NEED this article to talk about online with each other. What a crock! If I made an effort to remember every conversation between some of my more stupid friends on Xbox Live, I could write an article just like this one. Report
September 22, 201115 yr comment_45609 while i'm not sure of the signifigance of 42, pk, i will say this....if it's a real article and a real study, 42 is an odd number to choose. 40, 50....even 45 would make sense. did people cancel at the last minute, get dq'ed....why 42? Report
September 22, 201115 yr comment_45622 I don't have anything useful to add. Which is fine because that article didn't either. Report

October 23, 201114 yr comment_47157 That video nailed it. Sensationalism sells. Though the middle class middle age not liking video games is a little off. Report
