General Discussion

Well, you've heard of the recent disaster with the flooding and the death (well no death) and the no room. Well, I hooked up the gaming PC and I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is it works! The bad news is I'm in the middle of the living room on a poker table with a plant in front of me. Oh well. It works! =]

I was an iPad hater for awhile but now I sort of want one. Not to feed into the Apple hype or to look like a trendy D-bag on the train .. but after reading most of Stephen Fry's review and seeing that Marvel Comics demo I think I could get a lot of use out of this thing. I already subscribe to Marvel's Digital comic library, and I think I heard that Hulu will be available on this thing eventually .. so yeah .. I'll likely invest in either the 2nd or 3rd gen of this thing. Any one else?

http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/03/ipad-os-digging-reveals-hints-of-future-iphone-ipod-touch-ipad/ If we're seeing this right, we're looking at not one, but two new mentions of future iPhones (iPhone 3,2 and iPhone 3,3), alongside a new iPod touch (iPod 4,1) and... a future iPad (iProd 4,1). 'Course, none of this gives us any indication of the all-important whos or whens, but at least this confirms that mythical creatures still exist in the hearts of those who believe.

Oh man I've got such a bonner for MGS 4 right now I've completely ignored all other games. Yes even Fallout 3, Shadow Complex, and Borderlands. If any of you sent me game invites .. (actually only PK does) and I ignore them it's cause Tam and I are watching The Office on Netflix or she's working out with Wii Fit and watching Netflix. I can't stop playing this game .. and holy crap does it deliver!!! Now I know this game isn't for everyone and honestly if you didn't play the series since the beginning of Metal Gear Solid on the PS1 (**** it even makes references to the first game on the NES) you'll be totally lost and likely rather bored with it. This game took me about 2 …

I have a question, what websites do you guys frequent for your dosage of anime? I've been thinking of websites to visit, but I'm hesitant to click on any google links due to fear of malware and such. I'm not looking for places that show stuff illegally, just a legit website to look for news, and if it's possible, streaming of shows with subtitles or something. Basically anything that's safe to browse. I've been deprived of my anime for a while, so I would like to have a few places to visit.

Way back in the day I posted I was going to get my first tattoo which ended up being this: Got my 2nd one 2 days ago for my birthday which is today!!

Cliff Bleszinski will be appearing on the Jimmy Fallon show Thursday, April 8th. "Epic Games is collaborating with People Can Fly on an unnamed shooter for Electronic Arts releasing in early 2011 and it's widely rumored the studio is working on Gears of War 3, too. It's unclear if either of these projects will be revealed when Late Night With Jimmy Fallon airs next Thursday." HOT ****!! My hopes are definitely high.

So my neighbor's house got broken into and they have a boy who's 9 years old and who has issues. The thiefs took his DS and all of his games and he's been really upset since they've been stolen. He played his DS so much and it meant a lot to him. Part of the problem is solved, I gave him my DS but I only had one game because I never really played it that much. So, if any one has any extra DS games, that they were possibly thinking of trading in or something like that, that would be appropriate for a 9 year old boy, would you please be willing to donate them to this kid. Sorry I don't have anything to offer you in return but if I get something I'll be sure to send it your …

So a lot of people have been finding that d amn and h ell are filtered, and they aren't even really swear words unless you are under the age of 10 lol. Would it be possible to unfilter them? I can understand the major ones, like the s, f, c, and b words, but others like a ss aren't too bad and we would use anyways with dollar signs, or a bold 'a' back at the ATC lol, so maybe just unfilter most of the minor stuff? I'd go through a test to see what's filtered or not but it would end up looking like I've typed morse code. So instead, I'll just make the profanity list IN morse code. lol ... .... .. - ..-. ..- -.-. -.- -.-. ..- -. - .- ... ... -... .. - -.-. ....

Please give Isabel a giant hug and kiss from all of us here and tell her Happy Birthday!!!!! Much love to you and all your family bro. *thumbs up*

For my final project in English class, I'm doing research into videogame violence, and its effect on people. I need to find two "voices" on the subject. One that is against violence in games, and one that is for (or at least not against it). I was thinking about using Jack Thompson as my anti-violence voice, but he seems a bit too crazy/extreme, and I can't think of any great voices for games with violence off the top of my head. Does anyone have any suggestions that I could use for either? It'd be a great help.

Need a new sig? >)>

What's wrong with my gamertag it just says the site is down, it has been that way the past 3 days. I figured it would go back to normal but when I went to the site and typed in my name it says it's a new name and I have to wait.

2K Marin, developers of Bioshock 2, are helming a "re-imagining" of the famed X-Com series..... ...... as a First Person Shooter. /facepalm Needless to say, I am less than impressed. http://www.gamespot....nes%3Btitle%3B1

President Obama's administration has asked Microsoft's CEO Steve Ballmer to create a game about reducing the U.S. deficit. Erskine Bowles, co-chair of Obama's fiscal commission, wants the game to be made so the general public can have a go to balancing the budget, reports USA Today. Read more at [source] Edge-Online If successful, could this paint gaming in a better light? Or is it a crack, as if to say, "if you can do better, than take a shot at it"? I'm going to hold my opinion to myself for awhile. I'd like to hear your reactions, though. Let's keep it respectful and as non political as we can. We're not attacking a party or anything. We're discussing a potential game.
