So I started reading the seven comic series, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac a few days ago. I just finished reading the fifth one, though there are a couple spin offs featuring different characters. It was created by Jhonen Vasquez, the creator of Invader Zim (which I've never seen much of but would like to check out, also due to it's titular character voicing a character in the Destroy All Humans games). I'd describe it as darkly humorous. It gets kind of messed up at some points but there's always an underlying irony of sorts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_the_Homicidal_Maniac Has anyone else ever read this series?

This is a good read by the writer of the first Borderlands game. http://www.amazon.com/The-Returners-Season-Omnibus-ebook/dp/B00AUA9QV4/ref=pd_sim_kstore_3 Alex Heton is living a second life and so is his soon-to-be ex-girlfriend, Chloe. After a man tries to kill both of them in a restaurant, they reveal to each other that they are the reincarnated bodies and minds of Alexander the Great and Joan of Arc. Before long, they find out that there are many out there like themselves, from Eliot Ness to a thirteen-year-old Albert Einstein. As the group tries to band together and figure out how they have returned, they are hunted by a crazed killer who is just like them: a retu…

A mysterious stranger appears in Corpus Christi, Texas as a Category-5 hurricane rolls in off the coast. As families make an attempt to prepare for the worst, they have no idea that they have front-row seats to the beginning of the Apocalypse. The Four Horsemen have come down to end it all. The stranger is looking for a young-boy named Caleb Hodes, a boy that might be the key to stopping the world from ending. But how do you save the world when God is the one trying to destroy it? The Ending by Mikey Neumann (The Returners, Borderlands) is an epic for a new generation of readers. It raises questions of faith, creation and existence against an action-packed coming-of-a…

I'm not exactly sure how to start this topic off, so i'll just type it all in one go and not edit myself, NO REGRETS, NO WEAKNESS, ONWARD FROTH!!!(its really whipped cream, silly ;D) So. John Dies at the End, NOT a spoiler... or at least i cant verify if it's a spoiler or not, cause that in of itself would be a spoiler, it IS however the name of the book by David Wong. Much like most people with Marble Mocha Macchiatos in hand (upside-down tuxedo, M&M-&M) I will assume you've never heard of him, which is probably for the best, otherwise this post would be pointless and my many hours without sleep unrelated to this post at all would have been wasted in order to get…

You never know who you’ll meet on the internet. Maybe it’s the Craigslist killer, or maybe it’s the author of a book you need to read for your summer school assignment. For Yahoo! user ♥ Idiot America ~ ϟƘƦІןן∑x ♥, the latter held true. He (lazily) took to Yahoo! Answers to have someone else review his summer reading book for him, The Boy Who Couldn’t Sleep And Never Had To by DC Pierson. Surprisingly enough, Pierson himself responded to the post. This kinda spawned from Av's thread, but I was curious. Who are your favorite authors? Personally, my top three are J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter is my favorite series of all time), Cormac McCarthy, and Ayn Rand.

http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/340987215 Wow. This woman rips the book apart in quite a hilarious fashion, animated GIFs included. I love this line. "Christian's supposed sexual prowess makes a bit more sense now, as does Ana's assertion that he has a giant bologna wand. She has absolutely zero experience, and she's never once had anything "in there". Thing could be the size of a baby carrot and she'd still be like, "Oh, my glob! How is it ever going to fit?!"

Long ago, in the magical land of Skyrim. There was a man who embarked on an incredible journey, a journey that made him legend. This man, well, his name was Spaghetti. He was a Dark Elf, Dunmer if you will, with a very strange look about him. He was average height, slender, and everything else seemed normal about him, except for his face. When I first encountered this man, Spaghetti, at the Winking Skeever, I swear to Akatosh I thought that n'wah was going to snap my arm right off my shoulder, and use the bones to smoke his steamed "skooma" or whatever the kids are calling it now-a-days. Anyway, so Spaghetti sat down next to me and ordered a drink. I could see him lookin…

This is another young adult series by Rick Riordan that makes me wet my pants. I'm not sure how many of us read young adult books, but I love them, It has 3 books in total: The Throne Of Fire, The Red Pyramid and The Serpent's Shadow. The books follow the adventures of Sadie and Carter Kane as they learn they are Egyptian magicians and well, they have to save the world..no pressure. If you enjoy YA books, they're def worth reading. I find Riordan to be an incredible author, and dare on the same level, if not better than Rowlings. He just doesn't have the same fame, which is unfortunate because his book are really good.

What happens when the haggling is done and the shops are closed? When the quest has been given, the steeds saddled, and the adventurers are off to their next encounter? They keep the world running, the food cooked, and the horses shoed, yet what adventurer has ever spared a thought or concern for the Non-Player Characters? In the town of Maplebark, four such NPCs settle in for a night of actively ignoring the adventurers drinking in the tavern when things go quickly and fatally awry. Once the dust settles, these four find themselves faced with an impossible choice: pretend to be adventurers undertaking a task of near-certain death or see their town and loved ones destroy…

Not everyone can be a hero. This phrase, and ones similar to it, have been spoken throughout generations. Teachers, parents, leaders, they have all said it, and everyone has heard it. Not once or twice but a hundred thousand times. If everyone had a super power then what would the world even be? Just a bunch of beefed up super dudes bro fisting each other so hard that they collapse a nearby building. I get it, not everybody is special, but that doesn’t stop us from dreaming. Nobody knows how the heroes came to be, there are the rumors and tinfoil hat theories. Most people? They just don’t care. They go about their normal lives, with some minor hero inconveniences. D…

As the title implies, this is something that I wanted to share. I had a creative paper project that was due for my Arts and Humanities course on Sunday. I was supposed to come up with a monument that I would have erected in my honor and describe why, who I am, and include what I learned from the course this semester. This was a unique project for me, because this is also child abuse awareness month. I found this in a way therapeutic that I could tie my childhood past into this project. This is what I wrote. I cut it off where it starts to turn into boring class crap. As a child, I did not feel much love if any love from my mother and as a young girl who dreams wer…

http://www.amazon.com/Conquered-Clippy-Erotic-Digital-Desires-ebook/dp/B00UJ01WBW/ Yes, someone seriously wrote an erotic fan-fiction digital novella..... about a paperclip. Christie Aackerlund doesn't need help with anything. So when the world's biggest technology company offers to fly her to a remote location and investigate an alien artifact, all by herself, she's all like "I'll do it! But the artifact isn't what it seems, and soon an overly helpful giant living paperclip is getting her all bent out of shape. I'm afraid, very afraid, but I can't wait to check out the user reviews of this in a few weeks once word starts getting around the internet.
