"As the search for cheap, safe and non-carbon emitting sources of energy continues, a band of scientists say the answer may be nuclear reactors fueled by thorium. Others caution that thorium reactors pose waste and proliferation risks. Ira Flatow and guests discuss the pros and cons of thorium reactors." NPR Is Thorium A Magic Bullet For Our Energy Problems?

I just knew that was going to happen. Every time I go outside with my dog I always think there is going to be some dog on the loose roaming around is going to attack my dog. I usually carry a knife around with me, I would carry a bat but I don't want to get in trouble. I might do it now since the cops were called and I can just explain to the cops why I have a bat. Her dog survived barely, he kind of looks like the dog on Something About Mary with the cast on his body lol. I just hate ignorant dog owners. Nobody even knew the people who owned the pit bulls had them, if they'd take them walking every now and then and socialize they probably wouldn't have attacked anyone. I…

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask - Ben The story of Ben is a classic creepypasta, begun in a dark corner of the internet and propagated widely due to its sheer sinister appeal. The story involves a second-hand copy of Majora's Mask, its origin unknown. This particular cartridge had a save file named simply "BEN." The unfortunate player who spread the original story erased the file and started his own, but something was off. The NPCs in Clock Town still referred to him as BEN; music played backward; Link would spontaneously erupt in flames; and he was hounded by a strange statue—the same one that appears when you play the incredibly creepy "Elegy of Emptiness" on your oc…

Fox News "Navarro, the cat found marinating in the trunk of a car, gets to use another of its nine lives. And he gets a new owner -- and a new name, too. Vickie Dankowski, of Cheektowaga in upstate New York, read about the cat in the newspaper and says she immediately wanted to adopt him -- and call him Oliver. “My sister and I went over to the SPCA and interacted and played with Oliver for a few hours and then started the adoption process,” she said. The 4-year-old feline was rescued Sunday from 51-year-old Gary Korkuc, who was preparing the cat as a meal by “marinating” him in oil and peppers in the trunk of his car. Police officers made the discovery during a traffic…

http://tinyurl.com/bskhyxp These are old, but employees going through the used game section of the store noticed something fishy.... and then another thing, and another, and another.... Someone had cut out pictures and literally glued them on top of other box art. The result are occasionally hilarious. ^^^^^^^^ Definitely my favorite. lol

This is just fascinating to me. Scientists believe they may have found a 13.2 billion year old galaxy. I'd post the photos, but there are a few. Click the link to visit the Huffington Post and check them out. via HuffPo

I don't usually watch a ton of videos, but I must say this video caught my attention, enough for me to check out the series. I love how he uses gaming lingo throughout his daily activities. One video shows him standing in line to go to the restroom and he pounds on the bathroom door and says, "c'mon! stop camping in there!" or something to that effect. I love it!! Anyway here is my favorite video that I have seen so far (I hope this isn't already posted, if so, I'm sorry). I laughed my head off and thought I'd share this with everyone. It's also for CoD fans or just shooter fans in general. Hope you enjoy! Warning: Not for the easily offended since harsh & crude langu…

The spacecraft was a long way from home.

I thought it would be a good idea, just after Saturn, to have them take one last glance homeward. From Saturn, the Earth would appear too small for Voyager to make out any detail. Our planet would be just a point of light, a lonely pixel hardly distinguishable from the other points of light Voyager would see: nearby planets, far off suns. But precisely because of the obscurity of our world thus revealed, such a picture might be worth having.

It had been well understood by the scientists and philosophers of classical antiquity that the Earth was a mere poin…

This thread was pointed out to some of us on the Xbox forums. It's about The Pro, who is part of Xbox LIVE's policy enforcement team (the folks who ban you from LIVE for being naughty). Click Some of my faves: The Pro can eat a hard shell taco without cracking the shell. He once taught a German Shepard to bark…..in Spanish.

So, I'm bored and feel like something fun would be to troll the Internet for different scary stories you may or may not have heard before and post them, one a week. _____ Three days ago, my last living grandparent, my mother's father passed away at the age of 89. He was a WWII vet, and my mom tells me that after returning home from the Navy, he was never quite the same. In factm he was pretty paranoid about nearly everything. I was never really allowed to stay at his house. In 1965, his wife died suddenly, with no real explanation. My mother tells me that my grandfather became extremely fearful of a nuclear was with the communists, and that he started to dig a bomb shelte…

See topic title. http://store.steampowered.com/app/2400/ A friend of mine was playing it at his house, so I watched him with about 6 friends - all drunk as hell - playing it... oh my god it was so fucking funny. It's basically like Trouble in Terrorist Town but classy and the 1920's. Then I just imagined the Gamercide crew playing this, and mental chaos ensued.
