http://feeds.wired.com/~r/wired/index/~3/P3hGcp3kM0E/ A new holographic display can transmit three-dimensional movies from one location to another almost in real time. If Princess Leia had to send her “Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope” message from Earth today, it would now be technologically possible.

My trustworthy, old laptop that has never given me any problems Up until; today. it loads up to a blue screen that reads the following A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. if this screen appears again follow these steps. Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed if this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need. Then you should buy Balloon Boy's dad's new product. http://www.bearscratch.com/ /facepalm Wow... Really? Wouldn't a back scratcher be easier and more portable? The video too is moronic. If Billy Mays (RIP) was selling it/promoting it then I MAY have a slight urge to buy it (dude could sell ANYTHING!!!), but this guy is no Billy Mays.

I never thought it would happen, but Brock got brutalized. Cain Velasquez managed to weather the storm as Brock came out strong and hard at the start of the first round. He then showed that technique triumphs over horsepower. Giving up a significant 20 pounds to the champ, he not only won, but won decisively as he beat Brock into a bloody pulp at about four minutes into the first round. Jake Shields made his UFC debut with a lackluster win over Martin Kampman. Though there are questions about whether the 20 pound drop in weight to make 170 was a decisive factor in his conditioning. He looked absolutely exhausted by the third round, but managed to pull off the W. Die…

engadget This just full on creeps me out. It looks like a real person and mimics facial expressions. It's being used in hospitals in Japan to gauge peoples facial expressions. Click on the link for the video of it in action.

I know all of us are a creative bunch. I'm wondering, are any of you exceptional artists? I'm looking for someone to draw me something (here be dragons) and wondered if maybe any of you were up to the task? And in case you're wondering what it's for, I plan on using it as the cover art for a novel I'm writing.

So I got some awesome news in the mail yesterday!!! I've finished paying off another student loan!! WOO HOO!! (you can skip this part) Okay here's a small back story .. Since I'm Canadian and wanted to go to school in the USA (New Jersey) my loan was split up over 3 different places. One was Royal Bank of Canada (RBC for my Canadian brethren), the other two were from the province of British Columbia, and one from the federal government. So I had 3 loan payments to make a month. It got kinda messy when I moved to the USA 7 or 8 years ago because we (me and the loan offices) had to figure out a way for me to make payments and have them accept it. Companies or government ar…

Just wondering how the people on gamercide start their day food wise, probably because I'm starving at the moment but i thought you guys would be up for the challenge of surprising me. As for myself, my favorite would have to be a big platter(small meals don't cut it in the morning for me) of french toast, waffles with strawberries loads of syrup, regular toast with an assortment of jellies and jams, eggs, mostly scrambled but some sunny-side up for spilling all over my place and swabbing up, BACON LOTS OF IT, and something i can slather in bbq sauce. *edit: Oh yeah and lots of seasoned hashbrowns and for everyday... well put simply I'm like an effing horse, get me a big…

A computer science student wrote a paper for one of his classes entitled, "Disadvantadges and advantadges of networks". Sounds pretty generic right? Nothing interesting to read there, huh? Well what if I told you he placed a hidden message of epic proportions within his college paper to test to see if his professor REALLY was reading it? After 8 hours of properly formatting his paper to include the acrostic message, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the most outstanding and creative RickRoll I have EVER SEEN. Video at the jump: http://gizmodo.com/5669317/student-hides-rick-astleys-song-in-college-paper

The doctors have said yesterday that theres nothing else they can do for my sister. They were trying to get her counts back down to try the bone marrow again, but it just wasn't happening. She has 80% blasts in her blood, and terrible sores on her body. Doctors said it could be 24 hours to 2 weeks. Please pray for my sister? I know prayer works and God can intervene.

http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,2845,2371219,00.asp?kc=ETRSS02129TX1K0000532 NASA Ames Director Simon "Pete" Worden announced that the organization has begun work on a joint project with DARPA to develop a "Hundred Year Starship" that could ferry humans to Mars—in one direction. Kind of hard to fathom we're getting to a point where this is a possibility and maybe even something that will happen in our lifetimes.

So Force Unleashed II and Fallout New Vegas both come out on Tuesday. I can't really afford one, but I'll cut my spending for a week so I need help in which I should get! I absolutely love TFU 1 and Fallout 3 so I'm in a pickle!

Don't try to get the 1 month for $1 deal. Apparently you can only have one auto renewal at a time, and it will override the previous one. After the single $1 month, it will autorenew for $10 a month ($120 a year). This pissed me off so I just spent 20 minutes trying to find where I can disable auto-renewal. At least I got it turned off and canceled all of those renewals without having to call Xbox Support. I don't even care if I get the Noble Six helmet anymore (Halo Reach unlockable ones and the EVA I'm using look cooler anyways), Microsoft is being a pain in the a ss and all of these deals suddenly popping up when the price is going to be raised seem to be putting …

NY Post Has Chelsea become so trendy even Martians are scouting for co-ops? A silvery vision of a dozen balloon-like dots hovering in yesterday's clear-blue sky over West 23rd Street had thousands speculating the mysterious objects might be UFOs. Callers began phoning the NYPD and Federal Aviation Administration at 1:30 p.m. with reports of the strange, silver objects high in the sky. "Some people saw something described as yellow with blue lights surrounding it," said FAA spokesman Jim Peters. He added that if the objects were weather balloons -- as some suggested -- his agency had no prior notification they'd be launched. Jason DiamondLOOK, UP IN THE SKY! A crowd …
