Steam is now offering a refund option for most games and DLC within 14 days of purchase, and with less than 2 hours played on the game (though you can still request a refund if you've played more, depending on your situation). http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds?snr=1_41_4__42 After reading through the details, what I thought was really cool was one of the last lines. "We do not consider it abuse to request a refund on a title that was purchased just before a sale and then immediately rebuying that title for the sale price." I'm sure it's happened to a lot of people, where you buy a game then it's suddenly on sale at a heavy discount. This seems like a pret…

An attack on Sony’s PSN has not only angered Playstation owners at the thought of their credit card information being comprimised, but also Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal who sent a letter to Sony’s CEO, Jack Tretton demanding to know why Sony failed to report to users on April 20 when the attack happened instead of waiting for a week to pass by before users were notified of the data privacy breach. “April 26, 2011 Mr. Jack Tretton President and CEO Sony Computer Entertainment America 919 East Hillsdale Boulevard Foster City, CA USA 94404 Dear Mr. Tretton: I am writing regarding a recent data breach of Sony’s PlayStation Network service. Red Dead Redemption Developed by: Rockstar San Diego, Rockstar North Published by: Rockstar Games Players: 1 offline, 2-16 player online multiplayer Rated M (Mature) by the ESRB The Breakdown Rockstar is known for making massive, open, driving and shooting games. But what happens when they turn back the clock and make a game set in the early 1900s, when the West was still untamed, and the automobile had barely been invented? Was this bold move a good idea, or should Rockstar stick to making games set in the modern era? Find out in the rest of this review. View the full review

I decided to check that everything on Lamar's official campaign website was copyright-cleared and on the level. Lamar is using several stock images on his site, two of which I tracked back to the same photographic agency. I contacted the agency to make sure he was paying to use them, but was told that it's very difficult for them to actually check to see if someone has permission to use their images. (Great news, copyright violators!) However, seeing as they're both from the same agency and are unwatermarked, it seems fairly likely that he is the only person on the entire internet who is actually paying to use a stock image (and he'd be an idiot not to). So I took a look …

“I usually don’t think about it. I know I probably play a few games that people like my parents may find offensive, but it really doesn’t bother me. I just play them for what they are meant for… entertainment. Now while I can see many games that are debated by people as being offensive, media and other really don’t mention the fact that these things deemed “offensive” can be avoided. In Mass Effect, you can avoid the sex scene, and in Modern Warfare 2, opt out of playing the airport mission, or just do what I did and not have the heart to shoot anyone. Honestly, in these days, almost anything can be deemed “offensive,” but does that mean it really is?” -Skylark95 Of-fen-s…

.. well it's not that bad. I've been easing up on the internet lately since I really should be more productive in my life, but after my birthday-anniversary-Canada Day experience my memory of those 3 weeks is cloudy at best and I'm pretty sure my liver and kidneys aren't too happy with all the overtime they've had to do. So what do I do once I start feeling better .. we completely tear apart and rearrange all the furniture in our apartment of course. I started this on Tuesday and am only have done. Tam and I are planning on adopting two kittins at the begining of August and I wanted to make our place more cat friendly (and safer for them) by opening more window for them …

The U.S. National Security Agency has the ability to snoop on nearly every communication sent from an Apple iPhone, according to leaked documents shared by security researcher Jacob Appelbaum and German news magazine Der Spiegel. An NSA program called DROPOUTJEEP allows the agency to intercept SMS messages, access contact lists, locate a phone using cell tower data, and even activate the device’s microphone and camera. i dunno....i guess i'm on board with it. it's nice to see someone have the balls to connect culture and actions, but it's a slippery slope. what say you folks? http://www.10tv.com/...ci.html?sid=102 UPPEUPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio — City Council members voted on Monday night to stop a plan to strip a nightclub of its liquor permit as long as it changes its name and plays pop music. The Columbus Dispatch reported Tuesday that the club, formerly known as Onyx, would change its name to Posh. Noise complaints, arrests and two shootings have occurred at the nightclub in the past year at the nightclub, located in a shopping center off Henderson Road, 10TV News reported. According …

Read an article over at CVG this morning. If you got a couple minutes, read it and maybe some of the comments. I was pretty surprised not only at the article, but also the comments. Not sure if they moderated out any comments, but it looks like a well behaved discussion about console exclusives. Nary a fanboy in sight. Take a gander and discuss what you feel, here. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=276561
