  3. Wow. This is freaking crazy and disgusting all at the same time. It's about Orcs that have a "gronch based currency". What is "gronch based currency? I'll let this screengrab explain it. Wow. Just, wow. There is an interview with the comic's creator over on an unmentionable site who's name is not to be mentioned here and is censored for life yo.

Just recently picked one up and I have about 30 of the free classics downloaded that I am reading, just wondering who else has one and what they recommend.

  9. Apparently they're going to officially kill off one of the Fantastic 4 for good in an upcoming comic. Who do you think it will be? I hope it's the Torch.

I took a bunch of boxes of my friends comic collection he was going to throw out, (the nerd in me couldn't let all of them go to the dump), and I was finally digging through them to see what was there and I found Amazing Spider-Man #2 (I don't think it's a reprint since it's Vol.1 Issue 2, but I need to double check that). The quality is pretty bad, but it still has the cover and no water damage so I might be able to $100-$200 (at most) for it. Maybe even a little less but that's okay for simply finding it. Of course the comic geek in me wants to keep it .. I mean COME ON!! .. it's Spider-man #2!! LEE!! DITKO!!! I'm geekin' out over here! ah screw it.. I'll get it graded …

This is the beginning for a short novel I'm hoping to write. It's been plauging me in my sleep so I finally sat down tongiht and started to put to words waht my dreams have been playing out in my head. I plan on posting bits and pieces of it here for you all to read/comment/etc and hopefully if all goes well, I can maybe get a publish out of the final product. Obv, this is a rough draft ( I wrote it last night, and it's 7 am now) Chapter 1 Celebrations Realm Of Souls. Harvest Moon “Celebrate love. It is the breath of your existence and the best of all reasons for living.” -???? Daylight flirted with the oncoming night. The tendrils of light intertwining with the dar…

Well, I finally got word that after much deliberation my short story Daemon didn't make the final cut. (huge sad face)... o well. As promised back in August, i am now posting it here for reading pleasure and if you feel like commenting or offering criticism, please DO. I can't grow as a writer without knowing what i might be doing wrong. Now, i will try to get this all nice and neat, but remember it was originally posted in double spacing in a word document so it might have a few glitches. And now, without further ado, I give you ... Charlie Frazier sat hunched over in his little cubicle. He sat with his legs drawn up to his chest which gave him about two inches grace from the width of his shoulders. With his back to the wall behind him, Charlie could just reach out to the wall in front and place his palm on the surface. The steel-like material should be cold to the touch, yet it seemed to emit warmth as if to say this is a metal your planet has never encountered. Which only made sense, as Charlie knew he was no longer on the planet of his birth. It’s a strange feeling knowing you’ve been taken and may never see your home again. Charlie had cried with fear and despair…

Keeping up with the Scifi slant of our Literary thread, i have a book series to recommend. I just started to read the Entire and the Rose series from Kay Kenyon, and I must say she's the best breakout novel artist I've read since Terry Goodkind came on the stage with the Sword of Truth books. Kay Kenyon's first book in the series is Bright of the Sky..... consequently you can get it for free right now from Amazon as a Kindle Book download, which makes checking out this talented author a no-brainer. P.S. why is it that whether they're male or female they're still called Authors?

So I recently finished the first book in this series and just purchased the second book in the series this past weekend. Wow, what a great and awesome story so far. I'm totally hooked into the tale this author is spinning right now. It's part science fiction, part fantasy and part cyberpunk. It's hard to explain since there is so much going on, but here's the Wiki page to give you an idea of what it's about. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otherland VERY good reading! Highly recommended!

I recently got this in the mail...... winners haven't been announced just yet, but either way it's cool. I got invited to attend the winners award ceremony, and it's close enough to be doable. Got the day off from work, and even if i don't win, i'll get to schmooze with some pretty prominent authors, including Kevin J. Anderson and Larry Niven.

  20. JB included this book into my awesome Secret Santa package last Christmas. I'm really glad he did. It is a fascinating history lesson. My son is now reading it, and he's already hooked. I didn't like the format of the book at first. It'd state facts and stories, and intermingled direct quotes from the people behind the games/companies. I soon loved the format, though, since it gave time capsule-esque rantings and sour grape quotes (Trip Hawkins, I look at you). The video game world is CUT THROAT. The people can be vicious and especially, underhanded. It starts at the coin op era, before they released Pong. Many of the big names in gaming today, had their fingers in gaming…

This is a short story i wrote last year, i recently re-wrote it in 3rd person for a new contest. Let me know what you think, i know this type of viewpoint is usually reserved for comics, but i felt like it might work here too. Daemon by LGWyant Fall has truly come to Carlton Park as the cool November breeze sends leaves flittering around the browning grass. Oak and Elm trees that once were proud stood leafless, like penitent worshippers raising their hands to the sky praying for help. The Pines and Cedars contrastingly seemed to have a heavy coat of needles. They stood over the pathetically bare limbed deciduous like predators grinning at the thought of an easy m…

Wrote this the other night at work. May revise, add or scrap it all together. Figured I'd share it either way. Room Number 8 The smoke dispersed from the barrel like a man's last dying breath in a frigid winter's night. His last breath was not as beautiful. It was only spent uttering a final plea, a whisper of her name, too late. It was only a few moments ago he was telling her that he loved her, oh, how he had loved her. But, he couldn't see. No, he couldn't see the cold steel held behind her back in knuckles turned white with her grip. His gaze was focused on her instead, scantily clad in white lingerie. He could not peel his eyes away from her body. The pale yellow lig…

So I stumbled across this recently while reading something Stephen Hawking recently said. Hawking was talking about how we should all just STFU and not try to contact alien life because there is a possibility that it would be like Columbus stumbling upon the Natives. "We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn't want to meet. I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they can reach." He concludes that trying to make contact with alien races is "a little to…

So, my friend recently introduced me to this Manga called Liar Game. "Nao Kanzaki, an honest and naive college student, receives 100 million yen (about $1,000,000) and an invitation to participate in the "Liar Game Tournament". The aim of the game is to trick the other players out of their hundred million yen. At the end, the winner gets the hundred million and the loser is a hundred million yen in debt. She discovered her opponent was her elementary school teacher, Mr. Fujisawa. When Nao was easily tricked into giving her opponent the 100 million yen, she asks Shinichi Akiyama, an ex-convict and genius who recently got out of jail, for help. Though Akiyama was reluctant …
