Valve announces a major update to the Steam gaming platform called Big Picture. Steam's new Big Picture mode lets gamers access all of their favorite Steam games on a television. With the press of a button, Steam displays a new full-screen user interface optimized for readability and interaction on TV. Big Picture has been designed to be used with a traditional game controller, while also fully supporting keyboard and mouse input. Steam gamers can experience Big Picture by connecting their PC or Mac to a TV, typically with a single HDMI cable. Access to the complete Steam store is included, as is the Steam Community. In addition to their complete library of Steam games, …

So, I preordered Natural Selection 2 a long time back to get access to the beta, and now it's finally available for everyone to preorder. Pretty good group of people. All 45,000+ people who preordered get a free upgrade to Deluxe edition and a free copy of the standard version to give to a friend. So, I will soon have a copy available to anyone interested. http://store.steampowered.com/app/4920 http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/news/2012/9/natural_selection_2_pre_orders_on_steam

So Nvidia is releasing their new "mid-range" card, the 660ti. $299, Keplar architecture and 2gb memory. Supposedly from some of the benchmarks I've seen it really is a damn good card for the ~$300 range. Currently I'm running a single GTX460 in my rig. It mostly gets the job done but I was thinking of upgrading. Plus there is a promotion right now if you buy one you get a free copy of Borderlands 2 on PC. Thoughts? Should I wait for price drops on other cards (Like AMD 7900 series ones or similar)?

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/6369407745 Snippet Players can now cancel their auctions at any point so long they do not have any active bids on them (it will still take five minutes for a listed auction to become searchable, however). Search Improvements: We're upping the allowed number of "Preferred Stats" per search from 3 to 6. We're upping the number of digits you can enter in the "Min Value" field for equipment searches from 3 to 5 (i.e. you can now search for values > 999).We've replaced “Minimum Damage” with “Average Damage” as a searchable stat, which can be calculated as follows: (Min Damage + Max Damage) / 2. So, for example, searching for an Averag…

Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today released a free update to Portal 2's in-game puzzle maker that lets users design and publish co-op test chambers. Since its release on the PC and Mac in May, 2012, community map makers have used the Steam Workshop and Portal 2's in-game editor - called the Perpetual Testing Initiative - to create and share more than 170,000 single-player test chambers. With this update, the community will for the first time be able to design puzzles that require two players working cooperatively to solve. This update also introduces a "Quick Pla…

Barbarian http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/6923460/ Snippet For 1.0.4, we're taking a good look at some of the most unpopular skills for each class, figuring out why they aren't being used in your builds, and then seeing how we can make them better -- either by redesigning how they work or just buffing the hell out of them. Barbarian is the first character they're talking about. Looking forward to what they have in store for Demon Hunters and Wizards.
