It seems that a new You Don't Know Jack game is going to be coming out as a downloadable release (XBLA, PSN, Wii) later this year. I am very excited to hear this, and the game may be one of the few 1200 MS point purchases I make (I can almost guarantee it will be $15). I loved the old YDKJ games, they were funny as hell. Especially the wacky commercials, which will also return in the new game.

As ghouls, ghosts, and goblins are preparing for their adventures on everyone’s favorite undead holiday Halloween, I am counting down my list for bone chilling games that terrified me so bad, I had to keep glancing over my shoulder everytime I heard the wind blow. Alan Wake In May 2010, Remedy and Microsoft finally released long awaited and very overdue survival horror title, Alan Wake. You take control of Alan Wake who is a best selling author. Unfortunately he has been suffering from writer’s block and has been unsuccessful in writing another novel. Alan and his wife, Alice travel to the small, but beautfiul town of Bright Falls to help him reopen his mind and let …

  6.

It appears that the story of the characters from Final Fantasy XIII may not be over. Spotted by superannuation was the registration of domain name for a new website that is being called at the moment, “whois.domaintools.com/finalfantasy13-2game.com“. The domain name was registered on January 11 under the alias “Coporation Service Company” which Square Enix has used in the past for websites for other Square Enix titles. Final Fantasy X, the story of Tidus and Yuna was the last Final Fantasy game to get a direct sequel and many fans were hoping that it would remain that way considering that FFX-2 was almost a complete disaster. Here’s to hoping that …

I'm not going to be getting my prizes out very soon. I'm having money constraints right now, and I have no idea how much it is going to cost me to ship the stuff. Also, if anyone wants to trade their game because they've already got it, I'm also thinking of getting rid of MW2 and Borderlands (sorry pk!), I'm not thinking of playing either of those games ever again, so if someone wants to trade with one of those games, go ahead.

During the Conan O ‘Brien fiasco, Microsoft made an attempt to get the late night comedian to do shows for Xbox Live, however Executive Producer Jeff Ross revealed that Microsoft really did not show any plans for what they planned to do with Conan and instead signed with TBS. “A lot of the conversations were ‘well, it’s a show, but it’s not a show and there are no breaks, but maybe there are breaks and it’s not 60 minutes, it’s this’ and nobody really knew what it was,” Ross told Morris. “So it was really going to be a leap of faith to jump in with these guys and figure something out which we didn’t know. Plus there were 100 people of jobs and that didn’t bode well f…

Can you imagine a world where video games series like Grand Theft Auto, BioShock, Call of Duty, and World of Warcraft are all owned by the same juggernaut publisher? If the recent rumors about Activision's plans to acquire Take-Two are true, then this could happen. "There are very strong rumors amongst people at a very senior level within the global business," an anonymous senior executive told MCV regarding the supposed deal. "But they're not much more than that at the moment – they are just rumors," the executive continued. "And, of course, given Activision's news this week, everyone is now looking to see what their next move is. But you can definitely put two and two t…

  12. This is incredibly sad. Be warned, if you don't like stories about violence you may not want to read any further. http://www.philly.com/philly/news/breaking/116241209.html?c=r Confession: Boy bludgeoned sleeping mom over PlayStation By Joseph A. Slobodzian INQUIRER STAFF WRITER When her 16-year-old son got into trouble last November, Rashida Anderson responded with punishment - she took away Kendall's PlayStation. That proved fatal. Following a 90-minute argument the day after Thanksgiving, police allege, Kendall went into his sleeping mother's bedroom, hit her 20 times with a claw hammer and ultimately killed her. The story of Rashida Anderson's bloody end - as t…

  13. Today’s Dumbass of the Day or the Dumbass Move of the Day is courtesy of Games on Demand, Xbox Live’s digital download service. You can pick this up on the Genesis, Dreamcast Virtual Console or the (recommended) Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection 360/PS3 for around $20.00. So, here’s a sleeper many of you may have never played, created by Hiroyuki Takahasi who went on to design such games as Golden sun and 3 other titles in the Shining series, the second in the Shining series and my personal favorite, Shining Force released for the Genesis/Mega Drive in 1992 in Japan and 1993 state side. And while yes there have been several other games in the Shining series spanning many different consoles, Shining Force was at the time only the second game I had played in the franchise. And it soon and forever…

  17. Late February Australia struck down another video game from being sold in their country due to the violence in the game. This time it was NetherRealm’s and Warner Bros’s bloody good fighting game, Mortal Kombat. The reason for the ban involved a series staple, the fatalities. The Australian Classification Board which refused to rate the game said, “……The game includes over 60 fatalities (some of which are noted above) which contain explicit depictions of dismemberment, decapitation, disembowelment and other brutal forms of slaughter. Despite the exaggerated conceptual nature of the fatalities and their context within a fighting game set in a fantasy realm,…

Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance which has seen three different designs since it’s release in 2001 is officially on it’s way out as Gamestop announces that they will no longer be accepting Game Boy Advance handheld devices or games. 21. In a rather ballsy and “superior” word filled message, EA CEO John Riccitiello told investors that Battlefield 3 will dominate Call of Duty when the game releases later this year. “We know we have a big competitor but head-to-head with Call of Duty in Q3, we have the superior game engine, a superior development studio, and a flat out superior game. Our goal is to significantly gain share in the huge FPS category and to put the other team on defense” – John Riccitiello, EA CEO via Eurogamer Tweet This Post View the full article

  22. Microsoft released a statement earlier about how they plan on making sure that Xbox 360 users who have been affected by the new dashboard update still get to play the games that they love and it involves a new console. The new mandatory update has not been compatible with some older models of the Xbox 360 when it comes to the new disc format and Microsoft has announced that they will be replacing those consoles for free with a new Xbox 360 Model S and a 250 GB hard drive. If you are finding yourself having an issue with reading retail copies of your games after applying the update, Microsoft has said to get in contact with support immediately.
