In a rather ballsy and “superior” word filled message, EA CEO John Riccitiello told investors that Battlefield 3 will dominate Call of Duty when the game releases later this year.

“We know we have a big competitor but head-to-head with Call of Duty in Q3, we have the superior game engine, a superior development studio, and a flat out superior game. Our goal is to significantly gain share in the huge FPS category and to put the other team on defense” – John Riccitiello, EA CEO

EA/Dice's feeling of needing BF3 to be a better CoD than CoD is will just make the game worse. Make your own damn game and don't worry about CoD, people already like BF.

Yeah, at the end of the day this is a CEO talking out of his *** to grab attention (which this article proves) which is all part of their marketing strategy. Getting the attention of hard core gamers is one thing, having your product being purchased by the overwhelming majority of "herd" users is another thing entirely. At the end of the day, selling copies is what matters and emulating a competitor seems like the easiest way to spike sales (look at Treyarch for literal proof).

best soundwave voice....

"battlefield superior, call of duty inferior."

I don't even know why he is trying to make these comparisons between the two. Battlefield is more slower paced in my opinon than Call of Duty and each game appeals to different FPS gamers.

It could be a great time for EA to release something different. A lot of people are getting sick of COD. You just have to look at JTV and see the lack of people streaming COD compared to how it used to be. Everyone I talk to in the chatrooms say that they are super excited for battlefield 3, and just tired of call of duty.

Guess it all depends on what Activision shows at this years E3 though. They show one good trailer all the COD fans are gonna forget all about battlefield. That is unless Battlefield releases a better trailer. Going to be an interesting E3.
