General Discussion

I love Dark Souls, and now I love the game and it's director Hidetaka Miyazaki even more. I just read an article about something that definitely made me laugh. When the game was first coming out Miyazaki gave an interview to Famitsu magazine. In the article they were discussing some of the "starting items" you can select when you create a character. Most of these have clear descriptions of what they offer as a bonus, but one mysterious item listed was a subject of discussion for a long time now. The Pendant. Miyazaki in the interview commented that for him personally he'd take "the pendant or nothing at all". This sent the internet into a frenzy for quite a while. Wh…

Came across this on Twitter and the person who tweeted it, was proud his daughter had failed it. I know more than a few females who enjoy military FPS' and LEGO. Why are we limiting our children, or teaching them that they shouldn't be liking something? I like to cook. Guess that makes me a girl. Good job, American Education. P.S. Kudos to his daughter for making extras spaces to include both girls and boys for so many categories.

Bringing back an oldie

Star Wars Episode 7 targeted for release in 2015. Seriously. http://thewaltdisneycompany.com/disney-news/press-releases/2012/10/disney-acquire-lucasfilm-ltd

Also check out this collection of images from Sandy http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2012/10/hurricane-sandy-after-landfall/100396/ I hope everyone's staying safe on the East coast. Let us know you're doing okay, please.

Riots, fires, etc. I remember when I lived in the East Bay and the A's swept the SF Giants. There weren't any riots. Just parades with broomsticks (swept the series). Now we have dumbasses stacking recycling bins, couches, cars, etc and lighting them on fire in the streets. Retarded. Your team won, which is a good thing, and you go and show your support by doing terrible things. Makes so much sense.

G4's two longest-running and defining series, Attack of the Show! and X-Play, will be ending their run at the end of 2012. Both shows will include original episodes through the end of the year, and will look back at theirmost memorable moments as we lead up to their final episodes. A rotating lineup of guest co-hosts including John Barrowman, Michael Ian Black, Josh Myers, Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel and Horatio Sanz will join AOTS hosts Candace Bailey and Sara Underwood, and X-Play hosts Morgan Webb and Blair Herter as part of the farewell shows. With well over a thousand episodes each, Attack of the Show! and X-Play have defined gamer culture for a generation, serving as th…

Worth a read, even in its amended form. If anyone can find the original article, uncensored, please post it here. http://www.eurogamer...able-of-doritos *correction* Writer wasn't fired. He stepped down due to his writing being edited/censored.

Happy b-day man I will nuke something in your honor today. Have a great day!

Haven't seen you in a while but happy birthday nonetheless!

The new Resident Evil 6 is getting frigging SLAMMED in the reviews today. I don't mean "Oooo, it got an 8 so it must be bad" sort of slammed which is the norm for supposed AAA titles. I'm talking like ~69 average on Metacritic, with "popular" sites like Joystiq and such giving it a 50/100. Even Gamespot gave it a 4.5. Yeah, the game sucks, and I knew it was going to happen. Call me a purist for the series if you want, but back when I was "reviewing" games I absolutely destroyed Resident Evil 5 when I wrote it up. I hated almost everything about it, I loathed the direction the series was taking, and I gave it an equally shitty score to reflect that sentiment. For a gen…

It recently came to my attention that Sony recently shut down Psygnosis studios (which was currently known as Sony Liverpool). This REALLY gives me a huge case of teh sads. So many games from my past (many of which a bunch of you young-ins have probably never even heard of) came out of this place. They had been making games for almost thirty years now. They were also responsible for creating one of the HARDEST games I've ever played. Shadow of the Beast. More specifically the NA Genesis version. (due to some sort of issues with the normal refresh rates of televisions between Europe and NA, the NA version ran almost 17% FASTER than normal. Combine that with NO cont…

WOW! If this turns out to be true, I think some heads will be rolling at Acti/Blizz. That is just uncalled for. [source - DiabloIncGamers]

I haven't seen you in FOREVER but

Sorry if I missed a post about it. I tried to do a forum search and couldn't find anything. Anyone going to PAX Prime 2012 this year?

This is really awesome. It's a slingshot controller used to play Angry Birds. http://www.soundplusdesign.com/?p=5428 Would this renew your interest in the game? I think it would for me, if only for a little while.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1523379957/oculus-rift-step-into-the-game God I'd use this all the time! I heard about Carmack's plan for something like this and it looks even cooler than I envisioned. Thoughts?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEALTHY

It's an older game, but it's so good. I don't know about you guys but when I look at a sequel to a game series I've never touched, I get frightened by how much I've missed and whether I will understand what's going on, but with DE:HR, after hearing that it's the prequel to the earlier games, I jumped at the opportunity to pick this up. Knowing how much I love RPG's and how I can spend hours in one room just snooping around, indulging was necessary here. The game's beginning cinematics are conspiracy based, which would make any such theorists' mouth water. There are a few people discussing a prototype which has not been released, but one they are definitely interested in.…
