General Discussion

Anyone else going to head outside in a bit and catch a glimpse of the total lunar eclipse? Apparently this event hasn't happened in around 400 years, coinciding with the Winter Solstice. Should be pretty fun to watch and should be able to be seen by everyone in North America. *thumbs up*

This video may upset some, so I've hidden it behind a spoiler button. It's a dad (also a judge) out of control whipping on his 16 year old daughter. Is it too far? Was there a time in the confrontation when it wasn't too far? How would you have punished your daughter for downloading games/music illegally? Should he still be a judge? Should his daughter have put this on the internet?

Topic title says it all. Have a great birthday bro.

Count the months on your knuckles and the grooves between your knuckles. Leave out your thumb knuckle. Every month that lands on a knuckle is 31 days, every month that lands on a groove between knuckles is 30 days (or 28 for February). http://lifehacker.com/232828/macgyver-tip-use-your-knuckles-to-remember-each-months-days

Posting this since a firestorm of activity has recently lit up social media. People in the game industry, big and small have been taking sides and weighing their opinions. I happen to think it's a discussion worth having.

Joystiq, a gaming site that has existed for a whole bunch of years now, was purchased by AOL back in 2005. It's being reported now, rumor or no, that AOL has plans to close down the website after traffic has declined 18% in the past year. Both Kotaku and Joystiq are reporting the story, but at this time AOL and Joystiq have no comment on speculation (although Joystiq seems aware that it's pretty much bound to happen). Kind of sad, I always enjoyed checking out Joystiq every couple days and also looking out for reviews on their site as well (since I appreciate differing viewpoints)

A new report at SOFREP, a website for U.S. special operations forces, claims to shed light on the issue of why photos of slain al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden's body were never released to the public. According to unnamed sources within the special ops community, the images would have been excessively gory, because contrary to reports from officials and those involved in the operation, U.S. troops fired countless rounds into bin Laden's body after killing him. In his book, "No Easy Day," Matt Bissonnette, a member of SEAL Team Six involved in the bin Laden raid, writes that he and another SEAL fired "several" rounds into bin Laden to make sure he was dead. But sources t…

Go go go, Gamercide. Please go show some support and lend some encouraging words. A 24 hour stream is bad, but our BE just upped the bar. Do your duty and make sure she doesn't pass out on webcam. Watch live video from MrsBadExample on www.twitch.tv

So the whole Osama is dead topic is quite frankly a downer for me So I said I'd start this one since I think it is more positive. So the thing I have always admired about America is NASA TBH. I watch pretty much any documentary to do with NASA I also love the research into new technologies the military does but not its ultimate use in combat. But so much good tech comes from that research that I love looking it up from time to time So whats your favorite thing about America?

The press conferences are over and now E3 has officially begun with the games being shown on the floor, so let's discuss the rest of it here. Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is being shown now!

In what could be one of the either worst or smartest moves in online video game history, all signs are pointing to the fact that within a few months Activision might be introducing a stand alone version of Call of Duty for pay to play online multiplayer use only. According to statements made by analysts Wedbush Securities, they expect this to occur in “first quarter of 2011″. “Activision remains a top pick, primarily due to the company’s potential to create and monetize a second tier of multiplayer online gaming for its Call of Duty franchise… We expect this to occur during the first quarter of 2011.” No official comment has come from Activision’s camp, but gamers have ex…

(when asked how she was doing and if our care package to her and Logan arrived) Hey PK! Yes it did and thank you so much and please pass the word around Gamercide that I said thank you as well. That bear is so adorable and what you had on the little note part made me tear up a bit. It was really sweet and we all loved it! Everyone is doing fine too. Logan is healthy and I'm doing good. It was an uncomplicated labor and delivery in fact it went quite fast. It's awesome to see his brother stepping into his big brother role too. He adores Logan so much! The beginning is a bit slow, but please stick with it. I can't express how important the message is. Get to know Joseph Kony. Make him famous enough to capture! **Update** Read these two links before you share the video with anyone, and before you drop a dime in contributions. http://thedailywh.at/2012/03/07/on-kony-2012-2/ http://facecrooks.com/Internet-Safety-Privacy/kony-2012-invisible-children-awareness-campaign-read-this-before-sharing-their-video.html Sorry for alerting you to something that may not be as helpful as it first sounded.

So how is everyone ? I tried coming on here a couple days ago but the site was down idk. But , I been good just maintaining . Still a gamer though. I'm looking into getting a PlayStation 4 at the moment. Gonna just stick with for the next 7 years lol. Kind of got into Uncharted Series . Nonetheless I'm still much into fighting games. This is really why I love sony because street fighter is only in PS now. Lucky me Alot of new games coming out but I know I can look to you guys for a good review. What games are you guys playing at the moment ?

If most of you are like me, you get a little riled up when it comes to purchasing something and then being told you have to pay AGAIN to "access" certain features that are already there. A great example of this is a lot of DLC currently, where the content is already on the disc you've purchased and you have to pay extra money to "unlock" the ability to play it. It drives me BONKERS. This however, is another example of what's going on, and it's extremely shady. Found at Best Buy, these $50 Intel "Upgrade" cards make your processor run faster. How? By enabling the 1MB of L3 cache and HyperThread support THAT ALREADY EXIST ON THE CHIP!!!!! http://translate.google.com/tra…

Sorry for the delay on this.....linkage.
