Post your favorite thing about America

So the whole Osama is dead topic is quite frankly a downer for me :P

So I said I'd start this one since I think it is more positive.

So the thing I have always admired about America is NASA TBH. I watch pretty much any documentary to do with NASA :)

I also love the research into new technologies the military does but not its ultimate use in combat.

But so much good tech comes from that research that I love looking it up from time to time :)

So whats your favorite thing about America?

i love independance day. i love the flag. i love the soil. i love the people. i love the opportunity. i love the constitution of the united ******* states of america. i love that we aren't in the e.u. i love everything you hate. i love that in america, i don't have to love anything. i love that we invented the whole 20th century. i love al gore, the father of the infranet. i love capitalism. i love american microbrew. i love microsoft....and apple. i love the dollar. i love not using the metric system. i love our soldiers. i love being an inalienable citizen of the greatest country that has ever existed in the entire history of civilization.....

It was a little tough.  I had to type the image tags to make that image work since I asked that my account be deleted...

Looks like it was half-way done.

I've been a member of this community for a few years now, some of the folks I've invited over those years are still here, and half of them are staff.  I was slapped down for no apparent reason.  It kinda pissed me off...if anyone was wondering.

I posted in this thread because it was pointed out to me, and I didn't particularly like what was insinuated in the op.  Why do you want to know what we, or anyone else thinks is great about my country?  Is there some justification necessary?

Brim, wtf are you on about with this thread?

I tried to post something in response but I don't know what happened and my responses seemed lacking. I'll just say I miss you posting here and leave it at that.

So the whole Osama is dead topic is quite frankly a downer for me :P

Oh, and sorry for bumming you out. We Americans aren't very big osama fans.

*Just an FYI* ;)

Brim, wtf are you on about with this thread?

I mays have been mildly intoxicated at the time :P

General idea of the thread was to post something better about America than the killing of another human being even if he was a **** :P

there are many things about america to love and admire.

...killing of another human being...

What human being are you talking about. That "man" was not human. He was a festering abscess on the a**hole of the world. He hung around spewing his bile to rile up the world and turn them against the greatest nation on this planet.

As for what I love about America, I love that I can say the above and not worry about offending anyone because I am F-R-E-E! Our men and women fight every single day for us to have freedom and anyone that tries to take that away from anyone deserves to die a horrid horrid death. Whether it takes 2 minutes or 10 years for us to find the person that tries to take that away doesn't mean a damn thing. What matters is we will not back down and give up our freedoms without the damndest fight anyone has ever seen.

i'm reminded of something i heard once, and i'd even take it a step further...

how many people have been stranded and helpless. broken, no hope...and looked up and saw our flag, and knew, KNEW they were saved?

also, how many have committed untold evils and atrocities, secure in the knowledge they COULD NOT BE TOUCHED...how many have seen the faces of our soldiers, the flag emblazoned on their uniform...the great flag of the united states of america...and cowered?

I love America. I love how we as a country can bicker and argue about little things, but when we need to hold hands and stand together we do. I love our soldiers and that as an American I was able to have a right to be a part of our wonderful military. I love this country, even the most worst armpit places in America. I love that we put out cheesy country songs about kicking other countries ***'s after they try to take us down, I love that I have the freedom to walk down the street at 3 am if I wanted to, and I love knowing that my boys are going to grow up in a country where they have the right to a great education and are protected by the best military around. I admire, respect, and have so much love for everything about this country.

Oh and hi POGRE!!!

Freedom of choice, thats what I love, what other country in history has had the freedoms that we have? You can be anything you want just by making the choice and going after it. Thats what I love.... oh and boobs are good too.
