So, I know you all are a smart bunch. I want to get the boy a nice sound system for his computer for xmas. (he has none atm) but being that I don't know shit about crap like this I am looking to you,my fellower pc gamers for some suggestions. Right now money isn't an issue, but let's keep it under 1k.

So I caved yesterday and pre-ordered the game (official release is today, so I still got the pre-order goodies). I played the beta for a few months and really enjoyed it. The setting, the classless/level-less character progression, the fact that I actually have to THINK to complete a fair amount of quests, etc. Anyone else play the beta and have any thoughts on the game? I needed a new game since I'm getting pretty bored of Diablo on Hell mode.

So I finally finished Borderlands 2 (which I'll still undoubtedly play more of later) and started up Torchlight II. It's pretty neat so far, though I haven't played much. I made an Engineer (tank with summons and some other tricks), but it was a tough choice between him, the Embermage (mage), and the Outlander (guns/ranged). Berserker looks dumb to me. One thing I do hate already, and hated in the first and with most games like this, is the lack of respeccing. It was absent entirely from the first game, and with so many skills with so many ranks to invest in, that's a real pain. So Nvidia is releasing their new "mid-range" card, the 660ti. $299, Keplar architecture and 2gb memory. Supposedly from some of the benchmarks I've seen it really is a damn good card for the ~$300 range. Currently I'm running a single GTX460 in my rig. It mostly gets the job done but I was thinking of upgrading. Plus there is a promotion right now if you buy one you get a free copy of Borderlands 2 on PC. Thoughts? Should I wait for price drops on other cards (Like AMD 7900 series ones or similar)?
