Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Counter-Strike, Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Portal, and Team Fortress) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the addition of an Early Access section to Steam's library of over 2,000 titles. Steam Early Access titles allow the community to get involved early and play select titles during their development. The goal of Early Access is to provide gamers with the chance to "go behind the scenes" and experience the development cycle firsthand and, more importantly, have a chance to interact with the developers by providing them feedback while the title is still being created. …

So I'm generally pretty good with stuff, but I'm stumped. Here goes. I was downloading things, and like an idiot I gave myself a virus. Now AVG Free was able to detect the file and quarantine it, but the problem is I know it's still on my PC. 1) The windows security center alert is always on. Everytime I click the button it just errors and says The Windows Security Center service can't be started. 2) because of this also, I cannot download any Windows Updates. It says I have to turn the service on or restart my PC. Again, can't do anything. So yeah, that's where I'm at for the moment. Sy…

So after playing the gorgeous Trine 2 in 3D and taking some screenshots, I decided to make a thread where I can show off how awesome stereoscopic 3D gaming is. For now there are several from Trine 2 and its DLC, and one from Sleeping Dogs. I may put images from other games that look good in 3D in here later. All you have to do is cross your eyes until the two sides overlap, and you should get the effect of depth perception. Exactly the same method as viewing "magic eye" images.

Please tell me some of you are picking up the new SimCity on the 5th? The inter-city play looks super amazing and I want people to play with. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow night at the midnight release.

This showed up on Steam for a total of five minutes before it was hastily taken down

Graphics card maker nVidia has issued an apology to GeForce GPU users who have encountered "major performance and stability issues" with Tomb Raider in maximum settings. Tomb Raider (2013) Screenshot nVidia's Andrew Burnes placed the blame on Crystal Dynamics failing to provide a final build of the game with enough lead time ahead of its release, which introduced new issues that were not present in previously-provided builds. "We are aware of major performance and stability issues with GeForce GPUs running Tomb Raider with maximum settings," said Burnes. A Crytek-authorised TimeSplitters game is in development for PC, built using the publisher's sparkly CryEngine 3. TimeSplitters Rewind is being worked on by a team of fans - including members of the original TimeSplitters staff at Free Radical Design. Rewind will include multiplayer modes and challenges taken from the original three games, re-packaged in HD. Classic TimeSplitters character Duckman Drake. The team plan to include over 300 familiar faces. Online play for 8-16 players and bots are in, project manager Michael Hubicka told Cooking with Grenades. But split-screen is out - CryEngine 3 simply does not support it at the moment. A demo is planned for December.…

Ok All, The time has come. I should get a decent tax return this year and I want to build a new gaming computer with it. First off I run Mac right now but my biggest problem is not being able to run much of any games at all. It is disheartening! I have built a couple gaming PCs long long ago and know that it will be easy for me to do it again. Those Devry classes when I was really young were not a total waste after all With all that said I am trying to put together a component list that I will start buying over the next couple of months.
