General Discussion

Play.com is reporting on the specifications of the Kinect, and that "this information is based on specifications supplied by manufacturers...". So yeah, it's probably real. Here is the kicker though. In the specifications is says that the Kinect can recognize and track up to 6 people, including 2 active players. WHAAA!?!? Really? So all those videos of families dancing around stupidly in front of their television are bogus because ALL of them aren't playing the games? Only two of them at a time? And the Kinect also only has the ability to map those two active players to Live Avatars? Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaame! http://www.gamespot.com/news/6267556.html?tag=latestheadlines…

So after I finally completely beat Castlevania SOTN I'm curious as to what everybody thinks. Which franchise does it better....Castlevania or Metroid?

Ugh, this is just patent trolling again at its finest. Super frustrating. http://www.trademarkia.com/candy-85842584.html Apparently they flat out trademarked the word Candy, specifically pertaining to all Computer & Software Products & Electrical & Scientific Products , Clothing Products , Education and Entertainment Services. The filing was done last year but was recently approved for publication as of last week. I imagine their lawyers are going to start sending out a gratuitous amount of court notices.

Now I have to go.

So, I decided spending a lot of money would be a good idea... (regardless of what my wife really wanted) Anyhow! I want it. I haven't upgraded video cards in about 3 years and finally decided it was time again. AND, I managed to find one in stock on NewEgg yesterday and ordered it right up! I should have that bad boy by Thursday. I'm excited

Fans of Master Chief prepare to get your pants wet with sheer excitement. A remake of the game that put Halo on the path to taking over the world is officially being remade for the Xbox 360 and will be releasing on November 15, 2011 which happens to be exactly ten years since the release of the original. Don't want this glossed over, so I'm not going to put a small snippet form the article in this post. Read the whole thing here http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2013/10/shutdown-salmonella/

Have a great day, spend some quality time and eat some delicious food. Then take a nap and enjoy it all

What's wrong with my gamertag it just says the site is down, it has been that way the past 3 days. I figured it would go back to normal but when I went to the site and typed in my name it says it's a new name and I have to wait.

Well I just aquired a pair of Altec Lansing 508s. Altec Lansing 508s Long story short ... my wife temped there for a bit .. got to know people .. we're still good friends with one them .. everyone got new/different jobs .. helped said friend movie stuff from storage to NYC .. was going to drop speakers off at Salvation Army . .. I said I would take them. I remember these speakers from when Tam worked there and they were being discontinued but the company had a few pairs left around there warehouse they were selling for cheap. Our friend said they would give us their company discount (51% .. I think) and we could pick up our own pair for a few hundred bucks. I couldn't aff…

I haven't played either of the games, but what I want to ask is if I should play through the first one before I play the second? I'm thinking about buying one of them today but didn't know if I should just skip the first one and buy the second which I heard was a little better than the first. I'm also going to maybe pick up Singularity at Kmart today for $34.99, and also a copy of the new Dragon Quest for the Nintendo DS which just came out.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Dragon of Fates!!!!!!!!! Hope ya have a good one!

I read this article in GI this month, and I have to say it really hit home. This sums up exactly how I feel about gamerscore and achievements in general. I've been known to go out of my way for the occasional pick up and cheevo, but in general I tend to let them go. I play through and pick up those sparkly whatevers if I see them, but I don't look for them outright. The only achievements I'm concerned with are story related. I really don't care if it gives me points or even avatar items. I'd rather get something out of the game for it. I've always felt this way, and, though I know some people do like achievements, achievements seem like a waste of development resou…
