Wondercon 2011: http://www.comic-con.org/wc/ The Bonnie to my Clyde, the wonderfully talented Karen Krajenbrink is going back to Wondercon this year in San Francisco. Last year I had the awesome ability to go with her to this "little brother" of the larger San Diego Comic-Con. It was a blast. This year she's going to have a table again (look for the Small Press area, SP-17) and I'll be walking the floor, checking out the publishers both large and small, as well as sitting in on (hopefully) some very anticipated panels. These panels include looks at Warner Bros.: Green Lantern with Ryan Reynolds and other guests, a screening of the animated Green Lantern: Emerald Knights A…

Scientists believe it may be possible to clone a woolly mammoth within five years after finding well-preserved bone marrow in a thigh bone recovered from permafrost soil in Siberia. Teams from Russia's Sakha Republic's mammoth museum and Japan's Kinki University will launch fully-fledged joint research next year aiming to recreate the giant mammal, Japan's Kyodo News reported from Yakutsk, Russia. By replacing the nuclei of egg cells from an elephant with those taken from the mammoth's marrow cells, embryos with mammoth DNA can be produced, Kyodo said, citing the researchers. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2069541/Woolly-mammoth-brought-life-cloned-bone-ma…

First the bad news: After having a tooth problem I went to the dentist Wednesday and was told I need a root canal. ****.... The Good News: After 4 years, switched majors and too many struggles/problems to list, I interviewed for a job today and I'm 99.99% sure I'll be getting a big boy job this summer! Time to celebrate! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlLp2hsZdW4

I have TWO guest codes for Starcraft 2. These will allow you to download the game and trial it for SEVEN HOURS. These SEVEN (7) hours must be played within FOURTEEN (14) days of activation of the codes. Please PM me directly if you would like to try Starcraft 2. (This means you Nomadik Kitty. It is discussion time! Remember all opinions will be tied with your gamertag Is the XBL Marketplace overpriced as a whole or is it just certain content? Think about themes, gamer pics, avatar items, Zune Marketplace, and DLC....all of it. Where do you stand when it comes to the pricing? Feel free to make comparisons to PSN and the Wii store too! Thanks everyone

So, this is a pretty cool read. It's detailed instructions on how to gut your Xbox 360 and PS3 and combine both of them into one PC tower case. Pretty damn cool consolidation of space. Incredibly long and not for the faint of heart, but if I was less lazy I'd try it. http://timofiend.blogspot.com/2011/09/hi-there-my-names-timofiend-or-tim-as.html

Back in 2008, Microsoft was facing a public relations worse nightmare, “RROD”. “RROD” which stands for Red Ring of Death, was the name that was given to the Xbox 360 by it’s outraged buyers after the Xbox 360 would overheat and cause a failure requiring the system to be sent in for repairs or else the gamer spending more money on a brand new console. What does that have to do with Marines? In 2008, an angry group of Marines decided to take their frustration out on their Xbox 360 that “RROD’d” three times. PS3 fanboys prepare to wet your pants out of sheer enjoyment and Xbox 360 huggers grab some tissues and begin to prepare your rant. View the full article
