  7. http://www.vcstar.co...g-homicides-at/ Mr. Barnes had his life taken from him apparently trying to come to the aid of someone during an argument between a man and a woman on the evening of January. A game artist, he has been active in the industry since 1996 and has worked with Activision, EA, Tiburon Studios and on properties such as Transformers and Kung Fu Panda. He is survived by a 17 year old daughter and 8 year old son. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.

  10. Scientists suspect the lake's depths will reveal new life forms, show how the planet was before the ice age and how life evolved. It could offer a glimpse at what conditions for life exist in the similar extremes of Mars and Jupiter's moon Europa. "It's like exploring an alien planet where no one has been before. We don't know what we'll find," said Valery Lukin of Russia's Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI) in St Petersburg, which oversees the expedition. 11. /facepalm So an 11yr old boy over in the UK spent over a thousand pounds ($1,743.90) over a period of 6 months by purchasing things on Xbox Live. His mother, who claims that "when I put my card details in 18 months ago I thought it was just for his membership to play online with his friends", has gone to great lengths to condemn Microsoft. "It is ridiculous to allow someone of his age to make payments without any checks being done," she says. "When he is in gaming mode he can't be thinking about the money. You can't put all that responsibility on a young boy." The mother has reportedly complained to Microsoft, but claims that the "computer giant is ignoring her". Mi…

In some unexciting news today, an official announcement was made by MTV that stated that MTV Games is done making video games after Harmonix was bought by Harmonix in December of 2010. A rep stated to GameSpot stated that “MTV Games has ceased its publishing operations but has not been completely dissolved,” and only a small crew remains in New York for the time being. With that earth shattering announcement, we can now all get back to work. via GameSpot View the full article

A video has been uploaded by Youtube user kick755 that shows him playing Dead Space 2 with Kinect and a Wii remote in his right hand. In the video, Isaac Clarke responds what seems to be perfectly to kick755′s movements, mirroring him exactly. If this video is legit, it does help to prove that games that are not sports or recreation types can respond well to Kinect. via KinectHacks View the full article

  15. Today’s Dumbass of the Day is brought to you by an unnamed male out of Spain. This dumbass thought he could blackmail Nintendo and get away with it. He is now sitting pretty in jail. On February 6th, the male approached Nintendo and said that he was going to post over 4,000 Nintendo users information online after hacking into the system and obtaining the personal information of the users who made purchases in the Wii and DSi stores. He attempted to blackmail Nintendo and when they didn’t pay him no mind, he posted close to 1,000 users information online on forums and websites. He threatened Nintendo again by claiming that he was going to post more of the individuals in…

Eurogamer.net called the article "Ghost Recon/A*s Creed Films". I'm dying of laughter right now, although I'm easily amused. http://www.eurogamer...ed-films-coming

  22. The Razer Onza is Razer’s first proper attempt at making a gamepad for consoles. Can this gamepad created by a company known for making some of the fanciest PC gaming peripherals around live up to the hype, or is it not the godly, k/d count enhancing, reaction boosting uber controller that everyone makes it out to be? The Razer Onza comes in two varieties. The first is the $50 Razer Onza Tournament Edition which has everything the standard Xbox 360 controller has (aside from chatpad compatibility), with added features including: two extra multi-function buttons on the shoulder that can be mapped to any other button on the controller (excluding the d-pad), adjustable re…

The rumor mill is running rampant today after an interview between Italy’s Xbox 360 Magazine and Silent Hill: Downpour developer Vatra Games’ Radek Marek over whether or not the survival horror game that is due to hit shelves sometime in Fall 2011 will have mulitplayer. During the interview that explores the environment and enemies within Silent Hill: Downpour, Italy’s Xbox 360 Magazine asked Marek about the possibility of mulitplayer being included in Downpour. The answer the magazine received is interesting, but also a little confusing. “At the moment there will be no multiplayer modes in Silent Hill: Downpour, but Konami are investigating a separate chapter devoted en…

Unfortunately for Basalt, David Gaider the Senior Writer for Bioware was around and turned his moment of dumbass-ness into one of the best pieces of verbal beatdown that one has every seen. Let’s take a look at what led to this moment when the a know it all gamer gets his diapers…
