Movies and TV

Anyone watch this show and/or like it? It's a mystery/comedy/drama/police series that's scheduled to start airing its 6th season on USA Network this fall. I have the season 5 DVD preordered lol (that's how much I like this show. It's more of a family show than anything, but very entertaining and funny. If you want to check it out, Seasons 1-4 are available on Netflix.

This is the trailer I saw when we went to see Insidious. It looks crazy creepy scary!! I wanna see this movie! (Stick with it in the beginning, the screen is black for a few seconds). Oh, and see if you can tell, the little girl looks like Suri Cruise. (Katie Holmes is in it, so its a possibilty).

O.M.G.!! I LOVED this movie!!!! It scared the poopie outta me multiple times. I definately recommend it!

Ok all I am fed up with my cable company. Too damn expensive and nothing is on! They just raised their rates again! I figure if I could save that money and buy or rent stuff through a combination of Zune for Xbox 360, Apple TV, or Netflix it would be cheaper and hell half the stuff I watch I would probably even own to watch again. No commericals!! So my question is has anyone used Zune on Xbox to buy or rent content? I was considering getting Apple TV since I have some stuff I have already purchased in itunes. Is there a big difference it the amount of content both of these are offering? Itunes seem to have quite a bit of stuff and I like the features of Apple TV. I am ge…

Anyone else watch this show at all? Just curious. How do you feel about the lead role (Spartacus) being recast? It's sad the main character had to leave due to cancer, but it will be interesting to see where they go with the show now. Won't return to TV until sometime in 2012 though at this rate.

Dunno how many fans of Mystery Science Theater 3000 are on here, but I love the show. Since its ended, three of the mainstays went on to form rifftrax.com, where they basically do the same thing they did on MST3K (add humorous and mocking commentary onto movies), but now have a way of doing it without having to license the films they mock: by providing the commentary, you can purchase and download it and play it while watching the movie (they offer ways of keeping the commentary track and movie in sync), or if you're REALLY tech savvy, you can over lay the commentary over the movie directly. A few years back, they opened up the opportunity to host anyone's rifftrax, cal…

pretty good flick. low budget and cheesey, but it's a comedy, so it works. 5 out of 5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtV3N9zRrJs not sure how to make vids pop up on here, so do it the old fashioned way...

Uh oh. This could be incredibly awesome or incredibly bad. I'm sketchy on this at best considering that Blade Runner is one of my favorite sci-fi movies of all time. Granted I enjoyed the novel it's based on much better, Philip. K. D.ick's "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", but the movie was still amazing. Everything from the scenery, the soundtrack (VANGELIS!!!!!!!!), to the implications of reality, the movie just sucked me in. So now they are announcing that the rights to the movie have been bought up. This scares me! What might NOT scare me is if they actually get Christopher Nolan to direct the movie (like they are wishing for). That "could" turn out well. …

So I'm watching the series with Karen on Netflix instant streaming and we're both now HUGE fans. Sanctuary, for the uninitiatiated, is a SciFi (I refuse to say SyFy) series where the main characters run and work for a refuge for "abnormals". Any type of person/animal/thing that's different from your ruyn of the mill human. (telepaths, elementals, werewolves, vampires, etc.) It's got some great spins on the classic Sci-Fi and fantasy tropes and there are TONS of nods and winks to audience that it's geared for. So, my question: Anyone else watching? Anyone else a fan?

I don't know if this is the cosmos making up for the fact they chose Ryan Reynolds to play GL in the live action flick.... but Nathan Fillion -will- be at least voicing the part of Hal Jordan in Green Lantern: Emerald Knights. Fillion will also be joined by Elizabeth Moss, Henry Rollins and Roddy Piper. My inner geek is jumping for joy.

As one of the trailer blurbs says, "An intellectual horror film". It's all the same stuff my own father has been telling me for the past 15 years. What's good about the film, is that he lays it all out so it's easy to understand. The one core component in the collapse, is oil. It's a finite resource and we depend on it for almost everything we use today. We're past the peak stage of oil production. From here on out, production will be smaller and smaller until it's totally gone. You wake up in the morning, and some of the first things you do, are directly related to oil. Your toothbrush and even the toothpaste, are made with oil. There is no other sustainable energy, tha…

Check that **** out.

Just wondering.

As some of you may know, or maybe not, they are making a live action Americanized version of Akira. Albert Hughes (The Book of Eli) is set to direct, but the big rumor is that James Franco would be playing Kaneda. Thoughts on this? Source

So this guy/director is completely clueless. I just read an interview with him and I'm appalled. Check out what he says about Drake. "...a crime family that metes out justice in the world of art and antiquities. If you're the head of a museum, or head of state, you've got to deal with them, and they're badass. They're like the Sopranos in some ways, but they have great taste, and they have a sense of justice." Really!? "A crime family that metes out justice"?!? Drake and family are somehow "like the Sopranos"? There is TRULY not enough facepalm in the universe to describe my feelings on this. This is going to fail on levels of fail not yet experienced in this lifet…

I know most everyone probably saw it during the semi super bowl. <object width="720" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.traileraddict.com/emd/34288"></param><param'>http://www.traileraddict.com/emd/34288"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.traileraddict.com/emd/34288" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" wmode="transparent" allowfullscreen="true" width="720" height="349"></embed></object>
