So on a night nearly 43 years ago, while Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier bludgeoned each other over 15 rounds in a televised title bout viewed by millions around the world, burglars took a lock pick and a crowbar and broke into a Federal Bureau of Investigation office in a suburb of Philadelphia, making off with nearly every document inside. They were never caught, and the stolen documents that they mailed anonymously to newspaper reporters were the first trickle of what would become a flood of revelations about extensive spying and dirty-tricks operations by the F.B.I. against dissident groups. The burglary in Media, Pa., on March 8, 1971, is a historical echo today, as…

The U.S. National Security Agency has the ability to snoop on nearly every communication sent from an Apple iPhone, according to leaked documents shared by security researcher Jacob Appelbaum and German news magazine Der Spiegel. An NSA program called DROPOUTJEEP allows the agency to intercept SMS messages, access contact lists, locate a phone using cell tower data, and even activate the device’s microphone and camera. The company confirmed a New York Times report that it has acquired Boston Dynamics, the Massachusetts-based maker of such noted mechanical beasts as BigDog, Atlas, Petman, Cheetah, and Wildcat. The company’s robots are among the world’s most advanced two- and four-legged machines. Some are humanoid, while others resemble predatory animals. Most have been developed under contract with military agencies, including the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA. Wasn't sure where this topic might fit best so I apologize if this is in the wrong place. I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread to notify Gamercide crew of awesome gaming deals going on that they may not be aware of via Steam, Humble Bundle, GoG.com, etc etc. I got this idea today when I was looking through the Steam Sales and saw Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition on sale for $7.49 (originally $29.99). This pack includes: Dragon Age: Origins ($19.99)Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Expansion Pack ($19.99)All Nine Content Packs (Prices Vary) That's at least a $40 value for $7.49 and a very awesome game definitely worth a look. The only thing making me…

Okay, a few new things. 1. F*** WalMart. I will never work at one again. 2. I am now unemployed. 3. I got my paperwork for unemployment and can make about $147 a week for a year or until I find employment, which is nearly as much as I made at WalMart (about 400 every two weeks). 4. I've turned in applications to a few places and already heard back from a guy I know that owns the theater in the next town over (a 15 minute drive versus my former 30 minute commute). He says starting in a couple weeks he can put me on for a couple days a week, and give me more hours as they become available (some other workers are starting schooling soon and such). That's abou…

I'm sure there is more to the story, but this is still terrifying in so many ways. I'll keep it short, but you can check out the full story at the link below. Italian woman travels to the UK. Has a "panic attack" while there and is institutionalized for her bi-polar disorder. While institutionalized she is drugged up by the government severely and kept sedated for over a month in a psych ward. Government hears appeal case from social workers and then even more nightmares happen. They whisk her away to a hospital, forcibly give the woman a C section, then send her back to the psych ward for another five weeks under heavy sedation. When she finally comes to and l…

Did anyone else read the story about the former Marine turned waitress who claimed "discrimination" by a couple she was serving due to her "lifestyle"? Here is a link to one of the original stories. Dayna Morales, pictured just above, claimed that she was not only treated harshly by customers of hers and subjected to ridicule (being called "Dan" for example) but also that upon her customers leaving she suddenly discovered they had left a note that they could not tip her because she was gay. A line was crossed through the tip box with the note, "Sorry, I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle and the way you live your life." Dayna proceeded to u…

Steubenville City Schools Supt. Michael McVey faces the most serious charges, including felony counts of obstructing justice, DeWine said. Telephone calls to the school official’s office and home were not immediately returned. All the others face misdemeanor charges. Also charged were an elementary school principal and a coach who face misdemeanor charges of failing to report possible child abuse. A former volunteer coach faces several misdemeanor charges, including making false statements and contributing to a child's delinquency. All four are to appear in court next month. So much recycled content, so little time. Don't get me wrong, I've had a lot of fun playing Call of Duty games in the past, but lately I've lost a lot of interest in them to be honest. They weren't kidding with the whole "war never changes" bit. Did anyone else pick it up? I may check it out when I get a PS4 but definitely not on current gen consoles.

Evidence that would have exonerated a husband of murder charges over his wife. He spent a quarter of a decade in prison because some asshole DA wanted to further his career. He also has to pay out a whopping $500 and can never practice law again. Please read this. This is what's up with our criminal courts in America right now. The so called defenders of law get away with slaps on the wrists while everyday citizens get the full force of the law. http://www.statesman.com/news/news/ken-anderson-to-serve-10-days-in-jail/nbmsH/

The mayor said he didn’t admit to smoking crack cocaine earlier as the media only questioned him about alcohol. “I wasn't lying. You didn't ask the correct questions,” he explained. Sounds like a good mayor. http://rt.com/news/ford-toronto-admits-cocaine-273/

What an awesome message we're being given. If you're law enforcement, act any way you want. If it's perceived as bad by the media and masses, we'll suspend you with pay. Later down the road, you can then sue the place that was paying you to do nothing saying you suffered depression and anxiety. Oh, you received death threats? That is indeed terrible, however, none of that would have happened if you didn't coat the faces of non-violent protestors. The other video I posted of the cop in the videos section, just wait a year from now. I bet anything he receives a similar outcome. Paid leave and eventually a settlement from the sports bar where it happened.
