I am planning on doing two contests this summer. Both have a unique way of deciding the winner and I am deciding if I should post what I am planning... What do ya think?

Faliszek revealed a new downloadable content pack, dubbed "The Sacrifice," is coming to both the original Left 4 Dead and its sequel, Left 4 Dead 2. A precursor to the previous DLC "The Passing," the upcoming pack will tell the story of how the original Left 4 Dead team lost one of its team members to the zombie outbreak. Since Valve was already busy bringing the original team to Left 4 Dead 2 in order to tell the story in "Sacrifice," Faliszek said the team decided to bring a fan favorite campaign from the original game into its sequel. "No Mercy" will be included in the upcoming DLC for Left 4 Dead 2 players, adding the sequel's game mechanics to the popular or…

No this is not replacing the Fail Award, which I plan to start up again here soon in October. This is something completely different. I think the name of the award says it all. If you guys like it, I'll keep doing it. The First Dumbass Award

  6. EA is no stranger to controversy. Their push of making gamers pay for every little thing that they have to offer is just one example of the type of controversy that EA has been dealing with, but what about the heated controversy surrounding the upcoming Medal of Honor’s playable Taliban characters? Is EA in the wrong with this one especially when they almost lost support from the US Army? View the full article

  8. Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition Developed by: ACE Team Published by: Atlus Players: 1 offline, 2 player online co-op Rated T (Teen) by the ESRB In an age where there is a clear division between first person shooters and brawlers, Zeno Clash blurs the line in one of the strangest and most unique games that has come out in a long time. The setting and characters are some of the strangest you’ll see in a video game. But is it too strange? Is the game a brilliant combination of disparate elements, or just a patchwork of failure? The growing list of expensive games that are being added to the XBLA are lacking creativity and not worth the amount of points that they are releasing for. Sure there are some downloadable worthy titles that will keep you busy for hours like Braid, Kingdom for Keflings, Limbo, and Shadow Complex, but what happens when you grow tired of repeatedly playing the same games over and over and want a new arcade game? You are faced with 1200 MS point buys that are not worth even a discounted price of 400 MS points. Here are a list of games that could revamp and save the XBLA from disappearing into the ugly dark hole that it is slowly digging for itself with out of control pri…

Developed by: Klei Entertainment Published by: Electronic Arts Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC Players: 1, with 2 player local co-op Rated M (Mature) by the ESRB We gamers love violence. It’s a well known fact. So a game about a dude running around shanking fools and cutting them up with a chainsaw already has enough to appeal to the average hardcore gamer. But is it just an overindulgent cash in, or is it a finely crafted outlet for your murderous rage? As it turns out, it’s both. It’s a delightfully overindulgent outlet for your murderous rage. And it has a fairly good story as well. Sure it was published by EA and released for the usual $15, but the design behi…

I found this article and found it a very interesting read. To summarize, 200 students in a Strategic management class at the University of Central Florida were accused of cheating by their professor since they used online materials (a test bank) provided by the publisher to study and/or cheat on the exam. It is unknown to me if this was publicly available on the website (article seems to claim it was), but reguardless of that, would you consider this a form of cheating? Is the professor right in the action that he is taking? If you have time, be sure and take a look at the article, it explains it much better along with the videos than I do. http://www.techdirt.com/arti…

  15. February 1st will see the new DLC for CoD: Black Ops. Contents? Four "new" maps (I say "new" because they're based on locations in the singleplayer campaign) One new zombie map. Cost? $15 FML. I'm getting so sick fo $15 DLC. We paid SIXTY dollars for the game already, and got FOURTEEN multiplayer maps. This will be an exclusive download for Xbox 360 users for a little while before it migrates around to other consoles.

  16. RC cars, machine guns, and grenades, oh my! Call of Duty: Black Ops is about to get it’s first map pack called, “First Strike” on February 1, 2011. The map pack will only be available for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace upon release. No date for when the other platforms will receive it. The $15.00 First Strike map pack includes 4 multiplayer maps, “Discovery”, “Kowloon”, “Stadium”, and “Berlin Wall” while the zombie map is called “Ascension”. Most interestingly out of all of those maps should be Stadium which is an ice hockey stadium in the US. via IGN View the full article

  18. Occasionally we read something that is so far out there in the world of all things gaming that we have to take a moment and acknowledge those dumbasses with “The Dumbass Award”. Have you ever found yourself playing a game Frogger and thinking, “Gee, I want to play a real life version of Frogger.”. If you answered “yes” to that question, then you are just as insane as this guy who failed at playing a real life version of Frogger yesterday. A 23 year old dumbass from South Carolina was struck by a 2010 Lexus after attempting to navigate a four lane highway like the video game Frogger. He stood beside the highway and when traffic was coming he yelled, “Go!” and jumped in f…

  21. GameStop who is in the middle of pulling a Pinky and the Brain operation, wants access to your Xbox Live Account in the future through a GameStop ID allowing digital purchases of points and DLC to go directly to your console before you leave the store. Speaking to Ars Technica, GameStop’s SVP/GM of Digital, Shawn Freeman spoke about these plans and why they believe it is a good idea. “We… have been a huge seller of those points in the marketplace, “As I understand it, we’re neck and neck, or we sell even more, than they sell directly through Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network. Which speaks to our access to gamers who care about playing those games.” Freeman further stat…

Gath who has to play Dead Space 2 using a mouse with his chin is upset that he cannot assign the “walk forward” command to a mouse button. After his story made it through the internet, Dead Space 2 players started a petition to get his request heard and Visceral Games has indeed heard the request and are actively working on a patch to add customizable controls to the game. Rumors have been swirling since the findmakarov.com countdown appeared. Fans of the shooter wondered if this was sign that their beloved franchise was going to be announcing Modern Warfare 3. Those rumors can be put to rest now, because the countdown is over and the reveal is a live action film made by a viral advertising company out of Canada who wanted to show Activision that their profitable series could be made into a movie.
