October 4, 201016 yr comment_20688 EA is no stranger to controversy. Their push of making gamers pay for every little thing that they have to offer is just one example of the type of controversy that EA has been dealing with, but what about the heated controversy surrounding the upcoming Medal of Honor’s playable Taliban characters? Is EA in the wrong with this one especially when they almost lost support from the US Army?View the full article Report
October 4, 201016 yr comment_20689 Seems to me neither side makes sense in this. Does changing the name actually make people happier about it? Everyone will know what they were suppose to be, regardless. However, I don't support any sort of outcry about it either. From the gaming side of things, who cares what terrorist name it is? Oh well, far be it from me to understand peoples need to over exaggerate mundane things. Report
October 5, 201016 yr comment_20694 this still makes me lol. i was talking to some soldiers the night that reach launched, and they told me that they were told not to but the game (not that they werent allowed to, but that they shouldnt), and the gamestops on military bases were not allowed to sell it. not to sound rude to anyone but if you know your going to have some huge reaction to the game because of something you experienced over there or because of somethign that happened to a family member over there you shouldnt even buy the game, just forget about it and move on. this is just like when the resident evil game came out and a bunch of black people called it racists because in africa you killed black zombies instead of white ones.and no a simple name change wont solve anything. the things you will do and see in game will not change and everyone will know who it is they are fighting. October 5, 201016 yr comment_20751 If you watch the lady did with Fox News in the link, you can tell she really had no clue what she was talking about when it came to past games. It's like she just googled the topic.I see both sides of the argument, but at the same time....someone has to be the bad guy and if the bad guy is the Taliban, why should they have to change that? October 5, 201016 yr comment_20778 I think it's all silly to be honest. I can understand where they are coming from, but then again what about the countless games with Middle-eastern people as the enemies which these people didn't complain about. It's a game. A game with commentary on relevant, current issues. Why should it be censored? Report
