  2. SEATTLE—August 25, 2014—Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) today announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Twitch Interactive, Inc., the leading live video platform for gamers. In July, more than 55 million unique visitors viewed more than 15 billion minutes of content on Twitch produced by more than 1 million broadcasters, including individual gamers, pro players, publishers, developers, media outlets, conventions and stadium-filling esports organizations. "Broadcasting and watching gameplay is a global phenomenon and Twitch has built a platform that brings together tens of millions of people who watch billions of minutes of games each month – from The Interna…

  3. Take, for example, Dr. Herbert Kleber of Columbia University. Kleber has impeccable academic credentials, and has been quoted in the press and in academic publications warning against the use of marijuana, which he stresses may cause wide-ranging addiction and public health issues. But when he's writing anti-pot opinion pieces for CBS News, or being quoted by NPR and CNBC, what's left unsaid is that Kleber has served as a paid consultant to leading prescription drug companies, including Purdue Pharma (the maker of OxyContin), Reckitt Benckiser (the producer of a painkiller called Nurofen), and Alkermes (the producer of a powerful new opioid called Zohydro). Kleber, who di…

I'd like to start things off by saying I AM OFFICIALLY BACK! No gruff this time, I actually own a computer, my life is back on track and everything is just so much better now. I missed being a regular joe on this site, and I decided to finally come back. So for those of you who remember me, and for those of you who don't, I hope you welcome me back with open arms. I have to go to work in an hour, and I'm going out with my girlfriend tonight, but when I get back home I have a couple posts in mind that I'm sure you will all enjoy. Thank you, and I'll see ya soon.

  5. Was reading Gizmodo this morning and came across some mighty interesting stuff. I'll try to summarize a bit, but you may want to check out the original article over here. Tracking cookies and URL requests are pretty common these days, but tracking an incredible amount of your personal medical history, status and other factors should be extremely concerning. It's come to light that embedded within Healthcare.gov are a large amount of tracking URLs and requests that are sending this information to sites like Doubleclick, Yahoo, Chartbeat, and even Twitter and Youtube!! (There is a chart in the original article showing a partial list of these external sites Health…

Article here http://www.pcworld.com/article/2893767/pc-gamers-wont-pay-to-play-xbox-live-games-online-and-console-owners-are-furious.html I don't know, maybe it's me, but isn't "free online multiplayer" one of the perks of gaming on a PC? It's an open platform free of any paywall restrictions *xbox live - PSN*.

Got a Visio 65 inch 4K tv watched a movie on netflix that was 4K and it was awesome, also picked up an Xbox one Master Chief collection and pre-ordered Star wars battle front, I mostly got the One because they are moving World Of Tanks to it this year, but now that Fallout 4 has been announced and Halo 5, I would have probably gotten one later this year anyway.

  10. You all know I'm a bit awkward. But since we all just talk online you may not have known that part of it was I don't like to actually touch people. Going to kung fu was part of me trying to get past that, but recently I had an awesome experience at a summer camp/workshop called IGNITE and had some emotional breakthroughs of sorts. It wasn't religious or anything (you know I'm not into that), the camp was motivational in nature ("inspiring today's youth"). I'm honestly really sorry I didn't share any of this sooner since I made some big write ups on Facebook and have been neglecting this place, but I really have been kind of busy lately with life too (work, kung fu, co…

My uncle sadly died this morning, as he was killed on site via an accident. He was backed up over by a bulldozer. He was an amazing man. He had beaten intestinal cancer, and had been in remission - as well as coming extremely close to beating another disease that had plagued him since cancer struck him. He was a kind, gentle person, and we were very close. Life is ridiculous. Enjoy the moments you have with those you love. You never know when bullshit is going to strike. Love you guys, don't ever die on me or I'll be hella pissed.

If you knew me from my early days on Gamercide I was always into Forza. Well , Forza Horizon 3 is dropping next week and i need ins. Lol , recently i been looking around for a ps4 but it just does not feel the same as before. I had fun on psn from 2010 until after the end of the MW2 era. I got hacked along with many others. Said goodbye to a clan i was apart of since Socom on the ps2 . Currently, i am shopping for a xbox one s and forza. If you have any reviews on the new slim let me know . Would also love to see some of you guys from the forum out on the race track. Could do with the company. Left a video below for entertainment purposes.

Well I'm not sure if there's even a point to post this. I don't think I saw any posts made in 2018 at all. But here goes.... HI!!! Ran across a VERY old email as I was cleaning out my inbox. Yes, I've got SEVERAL YEARS worth of old emails. And I can't just click 'delete all!' Anyway, it reminded me of my good 'ole GC family. Hows everyone been? The forum looks sweet! I've missed you all! My life has been pretty much the same as always. Same shit, different day lol. We had our 2nd annual Ugly Sweater Party tonight. It went great, but damn I'm exhausted. 30 or so ppl, and most of them drunk and/or high. Lol, good times. Getting ready to celebrate my 26t…

Well, you've heard of the recent disaster with the flooding and the death (well no death) and the no room. Well, I hooked up the gaming PC and I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is it works! The bad news is I'm in the middle of the living room on a poker table with a plant in front of me. Oh well. It works! =]

I have a TOTAL guilty pleasure that lately has found me wanting more... I love reading the XBOX Live forum especially the Account Suspension and Console Bans. I can not stand cheaters and people that think the Live community is their place to be vulgar, rude and disrespectful. I play for fun and recently put the privacy setting on my live so only FRIENDS can communicate with me. (other then Friend Requests) I let my son play with his friends and we share a live account. The last thing I want to hear myself is the current trend of being extremely rude, much alone my son being exposed to it. Is it wrong to be extremely happy when I see someone else whine about being ban…

How many of you use dropbox? For those who don't know, it's a place where you can upload any file. You have 2GB of space to start with but you can earn up to 10GB if you have people sign up and install the program. I've been using it recently to transfer letters that I've written in Microsoft Word to get them on my laptop so I could print them out. I love this service so much, also having an application for it on the iPhone is handy!!

  22. By Kris Graft - Gamasutra The International Game Developers Association on Friday condemned censorship of video games, as California's long-debated video game law heads to the Supreme Court. "Video games are at the heart of technical and artistic innovation," said IGDA Chair Gordon Bellamy. "Singling out games from other media is not only unconstitutional, according to courts throughout the country, but it also stigmatizes a leading industry in our economy that's embraced by millions in all walks of life." IGDA's condemnation of censorship comes as the U.S. Supreme Court decided to review California's video game bill, which seeks to put age restrictions on the sale of gam…

  23. That's right, HyperDuck performed magic once again. That's two years in a row, that our two friends won big at Dream. Build. Play. First place, two years running! That's $20,000 AND the game they did the music for, will be on an XBLA title! I'm especially proud of them and Extend Studios, since the field was ripe with talent. There was a nice group of contenders for sure. That's not a sleight on last years entries, either. They were good, too. Dean Dodrill, though, is a master craftsman. Dust: An Elysian Tale was an early favorite of mine, so maybe I'm a bit biased. Congratulations to our friends Chris and Dan, and also Extend Studios. Bravo, gentlemen. We all look forwar…
