Got a phonecall from that number today. The 555 immediately threw up a flag for me (movies, etc). So, I Googled the number and found lots of information. Read the link below to see what it's all about, and be informed in case they call you. http://800notes.com/.../1-222-555-7777

  2. Comcast, Time Warner and Verizon are among the ISPs preparing to implement a graduated response to piracy by July, says the music industry's chief lobbyist. The country's largest Internet service providers haven't given up on the idea of becoming copyright cops. Last July, Comcast, Cablevision, Verizon, and Time Warner Cable and other bandwidth providers announced that they had agreed to adopt policies designed to discourage customers from pirating music, movies and software over the Web. Since then, the ISPs have been very quiet about their antipiracy measures. But during a panel discussion here at a gathering of U.S. publishers, Cary Sherman, CEO of the Recording Indust…

  3. In what could be the world's first climate-induced migration of modern times, Anote Tong, the Kiribati president, said he was in talks with Fiji's military government to buy up to 5,000 acres of freehold land on which his countrymen could be housed. Some of Kiribati's 32 pancake-flat coral atolls, which straddle the equator over 1,350,000 square miles of ocean, are already disappearing beneath the waves. Most of its 113,000 people are crammed on to Tarawa, the administrative centre, a chain of islets which curve in a horseshoe shape around a lagoon. "This is the last resort, there's no way out of this one," Mr Tong said. "Our people will have to move as the tides have rea…

Hello Everyone! This is just an update on the fan fiction Ive been talking about. Ive posted a lot of topics saying that I would be posting a new fan fiction soon, and I promise all of you there will be one soon. I haven't been slacking though, I have been working hard on a few fan fictions that I know you will enjoy. There are three games so far that I am writing fan fictions for: 1. Fallout: New Vegas 2. Mass Effect 3. Skyrim (or the Elder Scrolls in general) I want my fan fictions to stand of from the rest, so Ive been spending a lot of time on them. It isnt something you can do overnight, Ive spent so much time coming up with a story, characters, and a bunch of other…

According to the Playstation Blog, Asura’s Wrath, Capcom’s upcoming game that puts hack and slash gameplay in an Asian mythological settings, is planned for a 2012 release on both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. It’s not your typical action game where you start out with a small sword and work up to a huge weapon; it doesn’t have that style of progression. However there are various stages where Asura can power up – you have already seen here that he started out with two arms and then he has six, and there will be quite a few transformations along those lines. The character you see here is not all there is. You can see the epic reveal trailer here, via IGN’s Youtube channel:…

  8. OVER $850!!!! Of course this includes things like keyboards, headphones and other random ****. The problem I see is how EA is bundling DLC with literally everything out there which in my opinion leads to watered down games in the long run. I know it's a "business model" and "businesses make money" so we don't need to necessarily go down that road within this thread. How do you feel about the obscene amount of DLC? Discuss.

  10. Arizona is considering legislation that would let parents see the text messages on the phones of their children, if they're under the age of 18. The bill is proposed by a state senator who has six daughters -- with understandable concerns for their safety and the safety of other minors who might be victims of harassment or bullying. The Article Personally, I don't think kids under the age of 18 need cell phones. The only exception would be a night out with their friends. When I was growing up I was given 3 quarters and told to call home when I needed picking up. Should parents have the right to go through their kids cellphone text messages?

Whitney Houston, who reigned as pop music's queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died. She was 48. Publicist Kristen Foster said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unknown. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/46355454#.TzcRvtU8Z8F

  18. An 18-year-old teenager, Ramarley Graham, was killed in his home in the Bronx last week by plainclothes cops. A member of the narcotics unit shot the unarmed teenager in his bathroom. While details of the tragedy are still unfolding, it appears that the teen had a small amount of marijuana on him, so walked home to get away from the cops because he didn't want to be arrested. The cops followed him, broke into his home and killed him in his bathroom while he was trying to flush a small amount of marijuana down the toilet. The police officer who shot Graham said he believed the young man had a gun. He did not -- no weapons were found. The bottom line is that an 18-year-old …

Just got this email. Dear Steam Users and Steam Forum Users, Our Steam forums were defaced on the evening of Sunday, November 6. We began investigating and found that the intrusion goes beyond the Steam forums. We learned that intruders obtained access to a Steam database in addition to the forums. This database contained information including user names, hashed and salted passwords, game purchases, email addresses, billing addresses and encrypted credit card information. We do not have evidence that encrypted credit card numbers or personally identifying information were taken by the intruders, or that the protection on credit card numbers or passwords was…
