John McAfee, the man behind the anti-virus name, says he's being bugged by Belize's Gang Suppression Unit. His home was raided by four different arms of armed Belize official organizations, including the GSU and the police. At least that is what is being reported by Channel 5 in Belize. When I say "his home," this appears to consist of nine houses and is the site of the Belize Ecological Foundation. The Belize Gang Suppression Unit's press release declares that McAfee, 66, was there with his 17-year-old girlfriend (referred to as a minor) and five security guards. The GSU reportedly says it discovered 10 firearms and 5 air rifles, all allegedly unlicensed. It also claims …

from the not-quite-as-impressive dept Over the last few years, we've noticed that nearly every victory the FBI celebrates against terrorism is actually about stopping its own terrorist plots that it feeds to hapless individuals, often nudging them and pushing them down the road to "become" terrorists, despite commonly displaying little to no aptitude for actual terrorism. Add the NY Times to the newspapers who are beginning to question the FBI's penchant for setting up its own plots for the sake of a high profile arrest of some clueless individuals. The United States has been narrowly saved from lethal terrorist plots in recent years - or so it has seemed. A would-be suic…

“I don’t suppose it would ease your wrath if I told you we’re announcing all your favorite things at E3 2012?” “I can see how the wording caused some confusion there. Yes, we are announcing something with a three in it.” Let the speculation begin. Also, http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=168350

Tim Schafer is no longer the king of Kickstarter, he handed over his crown to a company called Pebble Technology. They're making an E-Ink display, fully customizable watch called Pebble. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/597507018/pebble-e-paper-watch-for-iphone-and-android?ref=category The watch is fully customizable and works with both Android and iOS. You can do everything from change your watch display to check your text messages, track your distance, control your music and much more. What's crazy about this is, they're almost to $4 million and still have 31 days left to go. This could easily jump to $5 or even $10 million. Check it out.

http://penny-arcade....evelopers-and-p I don't care for Kuchera at all, but I like this article. I love that Valve's sale basically saved the developers of Jamestown. I know I was one of the people that picked it up during the summer sale.

It looks like some specs from both new consoles from Sony and Microsoft are hitting the net. Xbox State of the art 16-core IBM Power PC CPU with a graphics processor on par with AMD's Radeon HD 7000-series graphics cards Playstation Custom chips based on AMD's A8-3850 APU and Radeon HD 7670 GPU With those in mind, what exactly are your thoughts on a new console? Are you ready to jump right in, or have you contemplated switching to PC gaming? Do you think this current cycle is ready to be over? Do you think the games for these new consoles will go up in price? [Source of specs - CVG]

What a scam. I've never tried it myself, but my brother in law likes to tell me how good it is. I'm wondering if I should share this link with him now. See how you've been fooled into paying exorbitant prices for something that is not Kobe beef http://www.forbes.com/sites/larryolmsted/2012/04/12/foods-biggest-scam-the-great-kobe-beef-lie/

http://gamepolitics.com/2012/04/12/gog-steams-discounting-practices-hurt-gamers-devalue-games This interview kind of pisses me off. I've been fed up on paying full retail on games for a long time. I recently sold 123 games on craigslist for $600. Most of which were bought brand new at $60. Sure, I could have sold each individually, but by the time I was done, I would have gotten maybe a few hundred more and wasted way too much time with shipping and meeting people on craigslist. Not only that, only the good would sell first, leaving me stuck with the crappy ones that no one wants. So yeah, I know the value of my games very well. Less than 10% of what I originally paid for…

It has emerged that Michigan State Police have been using a high-tech mobile forensics device that can extract information from over 3,000 models of mobile phone, potentially grabbing all media content from your iPhone in under two minutes. The CelleBrite UFED is a handheld device that Michigan officers have been using since August 2008 to copy information from mobile phones belonging to motorists stopped for minor traffic violations. The device can circumvent password restrictions and extract existing, hidden, and deleted phone data, including call history, text messages, contacts, images, and geotags. In short, it can copy everything on your smartphone in a matter of mi…

A Minnesota waitress and mom of five couldn't believe it when a stranger left a $12,000 tip in a to-go box on her table. Now she's in an equally unbelievable legal battle with the Moorhead Police, who seized the money, citing its "strong odor of marijuana." The officers say the cash is part of a drug investigation; the waitress' lawyer counters that the police have stolen an anonymous Samaritan's gift to a woman with well-known financial problems. The police won't release the cash for an independent drug test, although a pair of restaurant employees who are "familiar with [marijuana]" said it definitely wasn't weed-scented. "It smells of unfairness," Ritchie says. http://…

By almost double the votes, EA Games has beat Bank of America in the Consumerist's annual Golden Poo Award for the worst company of 2012. Made me smile a little bit that this publisher who buys out wonderful game companies *cough* Bioware *cough* and turns them into crap with short deadlines and nickle and dime marketing is finally getting the press they deserve. Full article below: Whether it's on a console, a PC, a smartphone or tablet, hundreds of millions of people play video games every day. Yet most mainstream media covers the industry the same way it treats adult dodge ball leagues and cat fashion shows (both noble ventures, but neither of them multi-billion do…
