Seriously, I can't stand the direction game design is headed these days. It started with achievements and DLC, piecing out games and letting the consumers be public beta testers for patches and extra paid content, then kept getting worse with every game having you do dumb RPG nonsense like do X Y times to get Z. Experience points, unlocks, ranks, collectibles. In Assassin's Creed III they have bonus objectives for every mission that I stopped caring about (do all that nonsense just to unlock an Altair skin, nothing that special), but there was no way to stop the game telling me I failed the objective every two goddam seconds. I want to hear your vote for the greatest story ever told in a game. Please use examples and your reason for your choice. Maybe we can vote afterwords and proclaim the winner in a Gamercide article and post it on Gamercide.org?? I think we need stronger story lines and more character development in the games we play. The more invested I am in my character the more I'm impacted by the game play. I'll give my vote after a few posts. I want to think about this a little bit. RC cars, machine guns, and grenades, oh my! Call of Duty: Black Ops is about to get it’s first map pack called, “First Strike” on February 1, 2011. The map pack will only be available for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace upon release. No date for when the other platforms will receive it. The $15.00 First Strike map pack includes 4 multiplayer maps, “Discovery”, “Kowloon”, “Stadium”, and “Berlin Wall” while the zombie map is called “Ascension”. I just noticed something and it got me thinking. I really feel that we're going to see an increase in standard game pricing now. What brought this up? $69.99. Seventy friggin' dollars for a game. It's been pointed out that this is probably the "deluxe" version but I am going to wager that the "deluxe" version is actually the "full" game they created. The "standard" editions of games are going to now be stripped down, weapons removed, character skins not included, maps not included, and so on. We all hate Day 1 DLC.
