Several companies seem to be taking a chance at releasing smart watches within the next 2 years. Concept seems pretty cool. http://qz.com/101058/smart-watch-explosion/ Now I'm just sitting here waiting to see if when Google will move on this. I would love an android powered smartwatch. Could just go for a Pebble smart watch but may be fun to see how this "new market" may drive out in the near future. http://getpebble.com/

So I splurged and pulled the trigger. Couldn't resist, I've waited long enough. Going from an older MSI GTX 460 cyclone to a shiny new GTX760! Should be quite the bump!

So, this is the chip I've been waiting for to upgrade. I don't know that I will until I see the benchmarks, but it's getting close to time to move on from this i7 970. The prices are steep, but not out of the realm of reason if the performance proves to be what is expected. http://www.techspot.com/news/53447-enthusiast-class-ivy-bridge-e-cpus-get-priced-ahead-of-launch.html

Well, if you're looking for the best of the best in video cards, AMD just dropped the price of it's flagship by $300. This card is on par with the NVIDIA 690 and Titan, but is now $300 cheaper. Still expensive at $700, but newegg has a PowerColor Brand listed for 589.99 after rebate. Oh, and you get 8 free games with the purchase: Crysis 3/ Bioshock Infinite/ Tomb Raider/ FarCry3/ Deus Ex: Human Revolution/ Hitman: Absolution/ Sleeping Dogs/ FarCry3: Blood Dragon TechSpot Article

If you are an owner of a new multicore Intel CPU for example Intel core I7 and Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 OS, you already might notice that some of the cores in your resource monitor are marked as parked. This is a new feature of windows 7/2008 operating system that is made to balance energy consumption by your CPU. So let’s say if you are performing some tasks that do not consume a lot of CPU power, all the cores that are parked will remain in that state. However, if you are running something that requires a lot of CPU power, all the cores, which were previously parked, will be placed in the active state (unparked) to perform the task. And after it’s done, they wil…

I got a youtube channel, everyone has one in this day and age. I upload videos to my channel, ones I record offline and then the raw footage from live streams. Does anyone have a recommendation for video editing software or format converting? Since using video download from twitch turns all the videos in to .flv. I would love to fine tune the videos before being posted. Any and all help/advice is appreciated.

So, I think I've discussed it before, but here it is again. Nvidia G-Sync DIY kits are finally available. So you can buy an Asus VG248QE monitor, and install the kit yourself. Currently would make the total cost around $472. Overlord Computers is selling them for 489.99 plus shipping. So, not a whole lot of savings for DIY. Here's a summary of what it does: NVIDIA G-SYNC is groundbreaking new display technology that delivers the smoothest and fastest gaming experience ever. G-SYNC’s revolutionary performance is achieved by synchronizing display refresh rates to the GPU in your GeForce GTX-powered PC, eliminating screen tearing and minimizing display stutter and in…

  12. So I have some money together and am thinking of getting the first wave of parts for my PC rebuild. I already have a 1k watt modular PSU, GTX 680 GPU, good SB Recon sound card, and BlackMagic capture card to transfer over. I will decide on a mobo/cpu (probably a good mobo and an intel i7 hexacore) when I have the rest to comfortably buy it (within a month or so). But here's what I might order tonight: http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=32567288 I also have a second of that 8GB stick of RAM, so the other is for proper dual-channelling. The case that I already have is the NZXT Phantom 410 in white, that totally looks Portal-themed: …

  14. Not necessarily a product review from myself, but I wanted to say that this thing is seriously AWESOME. Very well made, looks pretty great and super sturdy with an absolute TON of space to put things in and hold stuff! http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/aaa5/ I picked one of these up because they were half off last week, and it is so worth it. Fits my laptop perfectly with plenty of space to spare. Even can lug around my PS4, two controllers, cables, and a bunch of games with extra room also. If you're looking for a pretty great messenger bag, even just something to pack stuff to travel with, I would recommend this highly. Two panda thumbs up.

So recently my mouse has been having some issues (mostly with left click holds and the middle mouse click), so I finally decided to get a new one. And I figured why not go all out if I'm going to get a new keyboard and mouse. I've never had a real gaming set before (I've been using a nice Logitech wireless combo for the past few years). The rest is copy/pasted from Facebook because I don't want to retype it all lol. The mouse is a Razer Naga wired/wireless rechargeable mouse with a 12 button thumb grid, which I've already mapped to do all kinds of things like copy, paste, back, forward, refresh, and whatnot. They can be remapped to whatever you want but are especial…

So, this is an interesting video to watch. Shows some real world load times between a high end SSD, a relatively cheap one, and a NAS Disk Drive. Pretty clear you don't want to use a mechanical drive anymore for loading windows or playing games from. http://www.techspot.com/news/67222-storage-real-world-performance-nvme-vs-sata-vs-hdd.html
