  5. EA and DICE were ***** slapped by a person claiming to be a 15 year retired SWAT team member in an open letter that was posted on the Battlefield 3 forums. The unnamed individual compares the supposed realistic upcoming shooter Battlefield 3 to what he calls “fake” games like Halo all because of the lights and lasers that are on the weapons that you use in the game. I’M RETIRED AFTER 15 YEARS SWAT AND CAN TELL YOU THE TAC LIGHTS AND LASERS ARE BEING IMPROPERLY USED AND MAKE WHAT HAS BEEN A FAIRLY REALISTIC EXPERIENCE SEEM LIKE HALO OR SOME FAKE GAME. I WAS ISSUED AN MP5 AND MADE HUNDREDS OF ENTRIES USING THAT WEAPON AS MY PRIMARY AND HAD MY KIMBER TLE 1911 .45 WITH TAC…

Finally the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto V has arrived. Fans of GTA: San Andreas will be excited to hear that the fifth numbered installment of the series is returning to Los Santos. It is unclear whether San Fierro and Las Venturas are in the game as well, but some of the countryside appears to be there, with mountains to climb and do crazy things off of. If you look closely you can spot several things added since GTA IV: Sea-doos, semi trucks with trailers, blimps, and even airplanes and fighter jets. That’s right, airplanes appear to be returning. Fans will still undoubtedly have many questions such as: whether the planes will be flyable, how much of the San…

  10. Sony CEO Jack Tretton made his Sony fanbase a huge promise that turns out might just be a big pile of poo. Tretton made the announcement at this year’s E3, regarding exclusive Saint’s Row: The Third multiplayer content that only the PS3 was getting. He promised users that they would be receiving an “over the top exclusive mulitplayer game mode.”. According to the fine fellows over at Joystiq both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions are the same and that there are no differences in either version. Joystiq did reach out to THQ and received a big fat, “no comment.”. Many websites are speculating that Tretton was speaking about Whored Mode, however the PC, Xbox 360, an…

Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m insanely jealous of this little boy’s room. Why do you ask? His bedroom is decked out in everything Portal including the artwork on his walls, bedding, lamps, and Glados. Yes, he even has his own Glados. But wait, it gets even better. The boy whose name happens to be as badass as his room, Vector, also has a Portal themed bathroom. Yeah, I know your jaw just dropped. via Joystiq Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article

Fusible did a tiny bit of detective work regarding Activision’s record breaking Call of Duty: Black Ops and discovered that not only was blackops2.com switched over recently to MarkMonitor which happens to be the privacy service that Activision is a client to, but also that in August Activision bought the domains blackops3.com, blackops4.com, blackops5.com, and blackops6.com making it appear that not only is Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is on the horizon but that there will be a total of 6 in the Black Ops series. This should not come as a surprise to anybody with the never ending supply of games that share the name Call of Duty, but Black Ops 6? Really Activision? via Fusib…

  16. Sega games on a Nintendo console here in America? That is correct. The ESRB has rated two Sega Game Gear games for Nintendo’s 3DS. The Game Gear games are Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble which happens to be a favorite of mine and Shinobi. Both have received an “E” for “everyone” rating. For those of you that are not up on your handheld knowledge, the Sega Game Gear was Sega’s take on the handheld craze that released here in the states in 1991. Sega officially dropped support of their handheld in 1997 after an unsuccessful shelf life in Japan and issues with the handheld’s battery life became more prominent. The original model would only last for about 4 hours. Seg…

  20. Matt Firor, Game Director of the Elder Scrolls Online has told Game Informer that the Elder Scroll’s newly announced MMO main story will be single player only. Their reasoning behind the decision is to have your individual character feel like the only hero in the game and also to avoid the awkardness that is seeing other gamers waiting to beat the boss you are currently fighting. Not sure how fans will react to that considering that they have been beating down Bethesda’s door for years requesting an Elder Scrolls MMO that can play with their fellow gamers including co-op main story play. via Game Informer (Video Interview) Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the…

Speaking to Famitsu, Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura told the Japanese magazine that a FFVII remake is not a priority at this time. “There are a lot of people who want a remake of Final Fantasy VII. However, new titles take precedence. We work our hardest to make something that might be even better than Final Fantasy VII. The new Final Fantasy must overcome the Final Fantasy of the past.” While Square is focusing on their current release, FFXIII-2 with followup DLC and a possible rumored FFXIII-3, they are also working on Final Fantasy X HD re…

Game Politics is reporting that video games sales saw a decent sales decrease of 20% during the month of July. This has been the eighth consecutive drop since November 2011. One console did manage to make a buck during the month of July. The Xbox 360 remained on top of the console market for the 19th consecutive month moving 230,000 units. Both Nintendo and Sony did not release figures for the month of July. Is this decrease in sales another sign of economic times taking a toll on the gaming industry or just the long summer video game drought that gamers face in the rather boring summer months?
