"Deliverance promises no magic, high fantasy or mythical overtones - it draws its inspiration instead from historically authentic characters, themes, and warfare," claimed a press release that was sent to Eurogamer. In an effort to prove that GameStop is sorry for their recent tampering with new PC copies of Deus Ex: HR, the gaming retail giant is offering a $50 gift card and a “Buy Two Get 1 Free” used game offer. Keep in mind gamers that this tear jerker offer requires you to spend money for a 1 free used game and the paltry gift card is not enough to buy a new game at the usual $59.99 asking price. via Ars Technica Tweet This Post Post to Facebook View the full article

Boo Gamerciders! It is Halloween and we here at Gamercide are celebrating by sharing with you our top favorite scary games that we played since we could hold a controller in our tiny little bitty baby hands. Let the fright fest begin! spawn622 – Gamercide Writer/Reviewer and Gnome Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem “The overall story of the game doesn’t really scare all that much, but having to always keep a check on your “Sanity Meter” really does bring a sense of dread to the game. Once it gets low enough camera angles will change, the volume of the game goes up and down, and other random things start to happen that really do screw with your mind. Ghosts and demon …

EA has once again proven that being the bigger man is not in their vocabulary when it comes to dealing with their Origin’s competition, Steam. On a post in the Bioware forums for the upcoming Mass Effect 3, Bioware states that the RPG will only be available on Origin “initially” and not Steam. Why do you ask? According to Bioware’s Chris Priestly it’s because of Steam’s “restrictive terms of service”. “During initial release Mass Effect 3 will be available on Origin and a number of other 3rd party digital retailers, but not on Steam at this time. Steam has adopted a set of restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to deliver patches…

Are you groaning at the thought of what love dovey Nicholas Sparks movie your significant other is going to make you sit through this Valentine’s Day? Fear not, my anti Valentine’s Day gamers. I have compiled a list of video game love fests that ended so wrong and a tad bit bloody that it will no doubt put a smile on your face while your wife is sitting there sobbing over the latest letter in Dear John. Final Fantasy X – The Love That Could Never Be Cupid definitely had other plans for Final Fantasy X‘s pairing of pretty boy Tidus and mild mannered summoner Yuna. During Yuna’s pilgrimmage to defeat Sin and free Spira from evil, she fell in love with protagonist Tidus w…

You be the judge Crystal Dynamics recently revealed that along with the rips, tears, and bruises of a much younger and inexperienced Lara Croft in their upcoming reboot Tomb Raider, Ms. Croft will also face an attempted rape. This statement was later clarified by Crystal Dynamics where they claimed their words were twisted by online gaming website Kotaku during the interview that has seemed to outrage fans of the series and the gaming population in general. So what’s the big deal? Why can’t a video game explore a more mature and vulnerable storyline involving a female that is usually strong and very dependent? Movies, novels, etc…seem to be able to get away with telli…

Sure there were explosions and mass confusion, but one good look at certain things and you could tell that things with Halo 4 are going to be a bit different this time around. 343′s Frank O Conner explained why Halo’s green armored hero is a bit different to OXM without giving away too many juicy tidbits. “There’s some story behind his new look.
