So I've been trying to get a new external HDD for a while, but I never had any money. However, I just won a $50 gift card to Best Buy in a school drawing, and I'm going to start saving up the rest. Does anyone have any suggestion on which brand or anything? I'm looking to spend under $100 if possible. Also, it kinda has to be at Best Buy, because of my gift card. Haha

So I read the other day on my pulse app for android about IBM's new super computer. Apparently it's capable of 10 quadrillion calculations per second.. crazy big number. To bring that to perspective, the article said "If every single person in the united states made 1 calculations every second, it would take them almost a year to do what this computer can do in one second." absurd. But they said that it's going to be used to predict climate change, and calculate the expansion of the universe. haha idk i just thought i'd relay some information.

For what it’s worth, I strongly recommend that our readers look elsewhere when shopping for personal audio systems. Other major competitors offer similar solutions with large support teams who will actually troubleshoot a problem with customers. If you don’t care about support and if you want to roll the dice and hope you never have to contact them, by all means, purchase an Astro Gaming product. The technology, and the sound that their wireless mixamp produces, is fantastic. However, if you value quality technical support and anticipate needing help from the company somewhere down the line, look elsewhere. Save yourself the frustration. Whoa. Apple just won a big court victory against HTC that could force HTC to stop selling its Android phones in the United States. The United States International Trade Commission ruled that HTC was infringing on an Apple patent that effects HTC Android devices running Android 1.6 to 2.2. The devices that may be banned from being sold in the US is basically a who's who list of Android phones: Droid Incredible, Evo 4G, T-Mobile G2, Nexus One and a bunch of older Android devices. The patent that the courts ruled HTC was infringing on (#5,946,647) is potentially a big one. According to Fortune, who took a deep look at the specific patent, it works like this: When an iPhone …

I currently have an AMD HD 6870 from XFX (reference-style card) in my PC. I have a friend that is offering to trade me his EVGA GTX 580 for the trade plus I give him $50. Thoughts on this trade? Worth it? Am I going to see a performance increase at all? So, I'm tired of my A40s . They are a decent headset, but they seem to have developed a crackle. It's not really a blown speaker, but something I can't place. Plus they just aren't up to the sound quality that my HD595s were, and I miss them. So, before they disappear I went ahead and ordered the PC360 from Sennheiser to replace them. They are suppose to have the same cans as my 595s and a very similar fit. I am getting them Thursday, and I'll put them to the test then. Pricey, but so were the A40s and they never lived up to my expectations. The mixamp is fantastic, and I'll continue to use it with the PC360s. http://en-us.sennheiser.com/gamer-headset-hifi-soun…

If you are an owner of a new multicore Intel CPU for example Intel core I7 and Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 OS, you already might notice that some of the cores in your resource monitor are marked as parked. This is a new feature of windows 7/2008 operating system that is made to balance energy consumption by your CPU. So let’s say if you are performing some tasks that do not consume a lot of CPU power, all the cores that are parked will remain in that state. However, if you are running something that requires a lot of CPU power, all the cores, which were previously parked, will be placed in the active state (unparked) to perform the task. And after it’s done, they wil…

Apple attempts to patent kill switch that roots out unauthorized users, detects jailbreaks By Sean Hollister posted Aug 21st 2010 8:58PM "Just about every mobile operating system manufacturer can remotely delete apps from the smartphones they help provide, but if a recent patent application is any indication, Apple's looking to lock down the whole enchilada on future devices. The basic concept is as simple as the diagram above -- certain activities trigger the phone to think it's in the wrong hands -- but the particular activities and particular remedies Apple suggests extend to audiovisual spying (to detect if a user has a different face or voice than the owner), and com…
