In the year 2148, explorers on Mars discovered the remains of an ancient spacefaring civilization. In the decades that followed, these mysterious artifacts revealed startling new technologies, enabling travel to the furthest stars. The basis for this incredible technology was a force that controlled the very fabric of space and time. They called it the greatest discovery in Human history. I already thought the movie that came out a few years back was awesome, but I just got done reading the first part (8 issues) of the original comic of Kick-Ass and it is pretty great too. I'm definitely going to read Hit Girl and second series before watching the movie of Kick-Ass 2. Has anyone else read these?

This is a short story i wrote last year, i recently re-wrote it in 3rd person for a new contest. Let me know what you think, i know this type of viewpoint is usually reserved for comics, but i felt like it might work here too. Daemon by LGWyant Fall has truly come to Carlton Park as the cool November breeze sends leaves flittering around the browning grass. Oak and Elm trees that once were proud stood leafless, like penitent worshippers raising their hands to the sky praying for help. The Pines and Cedars contrastingly seemed to have a heavy coat of needles. They stood over the pathetically bare limbed deciduous like predators grinning at the thought of an easy m…

JB included this book into my awesome Secret Santa package last Christmas. I'm really glad he did. It is a fascinating history lesson. My son is now reading it, and he's already hooked. I didn't like the format of the book at first. It'd state facts and stories, and intermingled direct quotes from the people behind the games/companies. I soon loved the format, though, since it gave time capsule-esque rantings and sour grape quotes (Trip Hawkins, I look at you). The video game world is CUT THROAT. The people can be vicious and especially, underhanded. It starts at the coin op era, before they released Pong. Many of the big names in gaming today, had their fingers in gaming…

Wrote this the other night at work. May revise, add or scrap it all together. Figured I'd share it either way. Room Number 8 The smoke dispersed from the barrel like a man's last dying breath in a frigid winter's night. His last breath was not as beautiful. It was only spent uttering a final plea, a whisper of her name, too late. It was only a few moments ago he was telling her that he loved her, oh, how he had loved her. But, he couldn't see. No, he couldn't see the cold steel held behind her back in knuckles turned white with her grip. His gaze was focused on her instead, scantily clad in white lingerie. He could not peel his eyes away from her body. The pale yellow lig…

Keeping up with the Scifi slant of our Literary thread, i have a book series to recommend. I just started to read the Entire and the Rose series from Kay Kenyon, and I must say she's the best breakout novel artist I've read since Terry Goodkind came on the stage with the Sword of Truth books. Kay Kenyon's first book in the series is Bright of the Sky..... consequently you can get it for free right now from Amazon as a Kindle Book download, which makes checking out this talented author a no-brainer. P.S. why is it that whether they're male or female they're still called Authors?

You never know who you’ll meet on the internet. Maybe it’s the Craigslist killer, or maybe it’s the author of a book you need to read for your summer school assignment. For Yahoo! user ♥ Idiot America ~ ϟƘƦІןן∑x ♥, the latter held true. He (lazily) took to Yahoo! Answers to have someone else review his summer reading book for him, The Boy Who Couldn’t Sleep And Never Had To by DC Pierson. Surprisingly enough, Pierson himself responded to the post. So, my friend recently introduced me to this Manga called Liar Game. "Nao Kanzaki, an honest and naive college student, receives 100 million yen (about $1,000,000) and an invitation to participate in the "Liar Game Tournament". The aim of the game is to trick the other players out of their hundred million yen. At the end, the winner gets the hundred million and the loser is a hundred million yen in debt. She discovered her opponent was her elementary school teacher, Mr. Fujisawa. When Nao was easily tricked into giving her opponent the 100 million yen, she asks Shinichi Akiyama, an ex-convict and genius who recently got out of jail, for help. Though Akiyama was reluctant …

Long ago, in the magical land of Skyrim. There was a man who embarked on an incredible journey, a journey that made him legend. This man, well, his name was Spaghetti. He was a Dark Elf, Dunmer if you will, with a very strange look about him. He was average height, slender, and everything else seemed normal about him, except for his face. When I first encountered this man, Spaghetti, at the Winking Skeever, I swear to Akatosh I thought that n'wah was going to snap my arm right off my shoulder, and use the bones to smoke his steamed "skooma" or whatever the kids are calling it now-a-days. Anyway, so Spaghetti sat down next to me and ordered a drink. I could see him lookin…

Wow. This is freaking crazy and disgusting all at the same time. It's about Orcs that have a "gronch based currency". What is "gronch based currency? I'll let this screengrab explain it. Wow. Just, wow. There is an interview with the comic's creator over on an unmentionable site who's name is not to be mentioned here and is censored for life yo.

Just finished reading All In by, Paula Broadwell. Though, sometime a bit of a love affair with David Petraeus, I doubt it will change anyones already negative opinion on the man. It's still a fantastic read, giving some great insight into the single most influential figured in the modern American military. With alot of very compelling and heartbreaking stories from central figures in his battalion and other who'd worked closely with General Petraeus over the years. And it also touches on his views about support for the war dwindling over the years. The author really got a chance to pick the brain of General Petraeus and found a very dynamic and convicted man. Agree or di…
