I took a bunch of boxes of my friends comic collection he was going to throw out, (the nerd in me couldn't let all of them go to the dump), and I was finally digging through them to see what was there and I found Amazing Spider-Man #2 (I don't think it's a reprint since it's Vol.1 Issue 2, but I need to double check that). The quality is pretty bad, but it still has the cover and no water damage so I might be able to $100-$200 (at most) for it. Maybe even a little less but that's okay for simply finding it. Of course the comic geek in me wants to keep it .. I mean COME ON!! .. it's Spider-man #2!! LEE!! DITKO!!! I'm geekin' out over here! ah screw it.. I'll get it graded …

Anyone read this series of books? I'm incredibly late, but I just started on them. A lot of people I know kept telling me to pick these up, and I never got around to it. I saw the trailer for the movie adaptation and thought it was interesting, so I went and bought all 3. I'm a few chapters in the first one at the moment, but I absolutely love it.

So I finally just ordered the 4 Volume boxed set of Journey to the West, originally supposedly written by Wu Cheng'En in the 1600s. It's a classical Chinese novel. The version I'm getting is translated by W. J. F. Jenner. http://www.amazon.com/Journey-West-4--Boxed-Set/dp/7119016636/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1297125580&sr=1-1 For those of you who don't know about it, it's the story that inspired Dragonball, and more recently, loosely inspired the game Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. I've wanted to read it for a while now. I had a PDF of it, but I could only read it on PC or PSP, so a physical copy will be much nicer. The story is just insane and right…

I decided to throw this down on the table for fans of the elder scrolls universe. I am a huge fan and have played all the games from start to finish, and with Skyrim just around the corner I wanted the community to know what happened in Morrowind and Cyrodill after the Oblivion crisis ended. With Lord Vivecs absence came tragedy, the giant rock floating above the city of Vivec on the province of Vvardenfell in Morrowind fell onto the land with the same force as if it had just entered the atmosphere, causing the volcano in red mountain to erupt completely leveling Vvardenfell. So all the countless hours us fans have spent in Vvardenfell are now in vein, because the land is…

Well, I finally got word that after much deliberation my short story Daemon didn't make the final cut. (huge sad face)... o well. As promised back in August, i am now posting it here for reading pleasure and if you feel like commenting or offering criticism, please DO. I can't grow as a writer without knowing what i might be doing wrong. Now, i will try to get this all nice and neat, but remember it was originally posted in double spacing in a word document so it might have a few glitches. And now, without further ado, I give you ... A mysterious stranger appears in Corpus Christi, Texas as a Category-5 hurricane rolls in off the coast. As families make an attempt to prepare for the worst, they have no idea that they have front-row seats to the beginning of the Apocalypse. The Four Horsemen have come down to end it all. The stranger is looking for a young-boy named Caleb Hodes, a boy that might be the key to stopping the world from ending. But how do you save the world when God is the one trying to destroy it? The Ending by Mikey Neumann (The Returners, Borderlands) is an epic for a new generation of readers. It raises questions of faith, creation and existence against an action-packed coming-of-a…

As the title implies, this is something that I wanted to share. I had a creative paper project that was due for my Arts and Humanities course on Sunday. I was supposed to come up with a monument that I would have erected in my honor and describe why, who I am, and include what I learned from the course this semester. This was a unique project for me, because this is also child abuse awareness month. I found this in a way therapeutic that I could tie my childhood past into this project. This is what I wrote. I cut it off where it starts to turn into boring class crap. As a child, I did not feel much love if any love from my mother and as a young girl who dreams wer…

Not everyone can be a hero. This phrase, and ones similar to it, have been spoken throughout generations. Teachers, parents, leaders, they have all said it, and everyone has heard it. Not once or twice but a hundred thousand times. If everyone had a super power then what would the world even be? Just a bunch of beefed up super dudes bro fisting each other so hard that they collapse a nearby building. I get it, not everybody is special, but that doesn’t stop us from dreaming. Nobody knows how the heroes came to be, there are the rumors and tinfoil hat theories. Most people? They just don’t care. They go about their normal lives, with some minor hero inconveniences. D…

This is another young adult series by Rick Riordan that makes me wet my pants. I'm not sure how many of us read young adult books, but I love them, It has 3 books in total: The Throne Of Fire, The Red Pyramid and The Serpent's Shadow. The books follow the adventures of Sadie and Carter Kane as they learn they are Egyptian magicians and well, they have to save the world..no pressure. If you enjoy YA books, they're def worth reading. I find Riordan to be an incredible author, and dare on the same level, if not better than Rowlings. He just doesn't have the same fame, which is unfortunate because his book are really good.

May as well post about another graphic novel series that was pretty great. Scott Pilgrim is at times down to earth and fairly serious, while at other times over the top and stylized like a video game. Tons of awesome references in it. I read this series back around the time the movie was coming out, and the movie is yet another great adaptation. The books are even being rereleased in colorized versions. Anyone else ever check these out?

For those of you who dare follow my ranting on twitter I mention my novel, Ricochet a lot. Spawn recently asked if there was a preview up anywhere, and while I thought I had posted one, I hadn't. This is it. This isn't the beginning, it's taken from the middle of the novel where the story takes a turn. I snipped a little bit of it to spare you all some spoilers. Anyhow, grammar is probably atrocious, but it's in it's roughest state. It was an accident. You were driving way to fast on an icy road. Blinded by your anger you never saw the turn coming, although in hindsight you should have known better. After all, you drove this road every day. But everything is different whe…

I recently got this in the mail...... winners haven't been announced just yet, but either way it's cool. I got invited to attend the winners award ceremony, and it's close enough to be doable. Got the day off from work, and even if i don't win, i'll get to schmooze with some pretty prominent authors, including Kevin J. Anderson and Larry Niven.
