Summary: Microsoft can only hope that it's re-invention of Windows 8, Windows 8.1 aka Blue, works because Windows 8 continues to fall behind even Vista's dismal desktop operating system market acceptance numbers. As for the mobile operating system space, Microsoft needs a miracle. The real take-away from Net Applications' May 2013 release of NetMarketShare monthly operating system statistics is that, as PC sales continue to collapse, Microsoft's Windows 8 sales are helping them to plunge to the bottom. While Microsoft apologists focus on Windows continuing to be the dominant desktop operating system, they keep missing the two elephants in the room: Windows 8 conti…

  2. A new lawsuit in Manhattan pitting the U.S. Department of Justice against Google offers a rare glimpse of how determined prosecutors are to defend a process that allows federal agents to gain warrantless access to user records, and how committed the Mountain View, Calif., company is to defending its customers' privacy rights against what it views as illegal requests. The Justice Department's lawsuit, filed April 22 and not disclosed until this article, was sparked by Google's decision to rebuff the FBI's legal demands for confidential user data. It centers on the bureau's controversial use of so-called National Security Letters (NSL), a secret electronic data-gathering …

So. My internet's been acting up lately (Comcast sucks) and I did a speedtest which showed about 3Mbps down, 10Mbps up (I usually only get 4-6 up, too). Annoying when I usually get about 25-35 down/4-6 up. However, a few minutes ago I restarted the router and got THIS result. Wow lol. Now if it would stay like this that would be amazing, but über fast speeds don't matter when the connection isn't reliable. Here's hoping that things clear up.

  5. SANDY, OR (KPTV) - A thief broke into multiple cars in the Bluff neighborhood of Sandy and stole some items rarely seen in police reports: sex toys. Sandy police said there are at least five victims, but one woman had the most embarrassing police report. "I can't believe it," said Chelsey Coutts, about her sedan trunk being broken into. "I'm still in shock." And beyond the shock of a rare theft on her quiet street Monday, Coutts said she couldn't believe she had to tell police what someone stole. "It was horrible. (The officer) kind of started laughing, but he felt bad so he asked me to describe everything in detail, and it was just horrible," Coutts said. Coutts had …

  7. http://rt.com/usa/us-police-harrassment-crime-308/ Let the horrible interpretations of physical contact and annoyance begin. While I'm all for people being detained or penalized for trying to harm an officer (sorry, but I am) the language for this is SO VAGUE that it's going to be so horribly abused, and people are going to wind up with felonies for no reason other than maybe swinging their arms around in the air like they just don't care.

  8. Check it out! The song is awful! That's him @1:15, and again at @1:43 (he's the one with the sad panda helmet that dies randomly) YEEEEEEEEEEAH! disclaimer: He had no creative input with this video. He just showed up, wore armour, and swung a sword.

Alright Gamercide, I like to write things and I finished this short story July 28th, 2011. I've always been kind of scared of my ability to write, but I want your honest opinions. Hold nothing back in your criticisms. Here it goes. Cold Blood By: Morrslieb The blood in Michael de Fourniret ran cold as the lifeblood of his enemy splashed on his hands. Geoffrey Jégado, the son of the well-known hero Gareth Jégado, had just fallen onto his blade. As the terror struck home inside of him he grew sick and became violently ill on the cobblestone, his last meal lost to the rats that plagued this city. It had been a simple matter of honor; Geoffrey had insulted a young woman…

Okay, this is officially my new favorite type of bird. Meet the Secretary Bird. A bird that doesn't give a damn. It has wings. It could use them. But why bother when it can just strut around stepping on things until they become food? Plus, it just looks awesome in a dorky way.

Granite's 7th birthday was on June 12th and with everything going on, Jason and I wanted his day to be really special so I baked him a Minecraft cake to go with the bday theme. He loves Minecraft. (If anybody is ever online and sees my gamertag playing Minecraft, it's not me, it's him, lol.) The white and red parts are fondant. I used chocolate icing on the bottom half and the cake itself is one layer milk chocolate and another layer of vanilla. Sorry the photo is a bit blurry, I had to take it with my tablet because my camera was charging.

  15. See topic title. http://store.steampowered.com/app/2400/ A friend of mine was playing it at his house, so I watched him with about 6 friends - all drunk as hell - playing it... oh my god it was so fucking funny. It's basically like Trouble in Terrorist Town but classy and the 1920's. Then I just imagined the Gamercide crew playing this, and mental chaos ensued.

  18. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/06/23/twinkies-return/2450233/ NEW YORK (AP) — Hostess is betting on a sweet comeback for Twinkies when they return to shelves next month. The company that went bankrupt after an acrimonious fight with its unionized workers last year is back up and running under new owners and a leaner structure. It says it plans to have Twinkies and other snack cakes back on shelves starting July 15. Go ahead and read the rest if you want, but all that matters is JULY 15TH!!! TWINKIES!!! WOOOO!!!!!
