So, I'm gonna pop in my Halo 2 disc and play through the singleplayer a bit tonight. But, that's not what I'm here to discuss. What I am going to comment on, however, is the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack disc that I bought (I saw it when I was looking fr my Halo 2 disc and it got me thinking). I just checked dates on wikipedia and the disc was released on July 5th, 2005 (the full length game was released on November 9th of the previous year, so this was a rather lengthy and well thought out addition). What I also remember was the price of the disc. My brother bought it for $15. The disc came with 9 multiplayer maps as well as some documentary footage. And they were all kick…

Time for another article. Obviously you can tell from the title what it is about. With Halo Reach releasing on Sept. 14 I am going to look back at the series and all things Halo. For your comments, I am looking for memories...hence "Remember Halo". It could be something stupid that happened during the campaign or something hilarious that occured during the multiplayer. You can even include your first memories of playing Halo...whatever just nothing negative, because I'm not looking for "this game sucks" or "Master Chief can go suck a peen". (Bogey, feel free to explain your first orgasm that Master Chief gave you ) *Edit....I decided to send this to Bungie and 343 when…

I'm posting from my laptop. I had another BSoD that, when viewed with a program called BlueScreenView, seemed to be related to the GPU, as tech support informed me. I had it before when I first got my system and it was buggy, but I reformatted it and haven't had any problems since. A couple hours ago I just got that BSoD again, called tech support, got the info, and just shipped out the GPU. It was under suspicion of being faulty since I got it, so now I'm getting it RMA'd. Only cost to me was $7.50 shipping. The system was still fully usable, but I wanted to get the GPU replaced ASAP if it's not working completely right and will have the occasional error. Not reall…

http://feeds.wired.com/~r/wired/index/~3/t306LSERD-w/ A federal appeals court said Friday that software makers can use shrink-wrap and click-wrap licenses to forbid the transfer or resale of their wares, an apparent gutting of the so-called first-sale doctrine. Basically, if it's a license then they can forbid you from reselling it. Could really suck for the end users.

While the hardcore fans of the long time running survival horror series might not be happy with recent announcements regarding Slant Six’s take on the Resident Evil world in their entry into the series, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, a new trailer has surfaced showcasing the return and possible demise of Leon Kennedy. Confused? Don’t worry. Slant Six claims in the latest edition of OXM that depending on how you play the game you can kill fan favorite characters changing Resident Evil history and this in no way is a “numbered” Resident Evil game. via Examiner Tweet This Post View the full article

I figured this was the most appropriate place to post an older game review, depanding on the reception I'll probably write some more. Either way, enjoy my review of Need for Speed: Most Wanted, for the Gamecube For years I had played the Need for Speed series, waiting for the day that the good ol’ people at EA would create (in my opinion) a better Need for Speed than the 2nd on the original Playstation. Well that day almost came in the form of Need for Speed: Most Wanted. While I’m sure many will say my view of Most Wanted is jaded by the graphical short coming on the cube, I really couldn't have cared much about how the game looked compared to other systems of it's time…

Comcast, Time Warner and Verizon are among the ISPs preparing to implement a graduated response to piracy by July, says the music industry's chief lobbyist. The country's largest Internet service providers haven't given up on the idea of becoming copyright cops. Last July, Comcast, Cablevision, Verizon, and Time Warner Cable and other bandwidth providers announced that they had agreed to adopt policies designed to discourage customers from pirating music, movies and software over the Web. Since then, the ISPs have been very quiet about their antipiracy measures. But during a panel discussion here at a gathering of U.S. publishers, Cary Sherman, CEO of the Recording Indust…

Last week, RIAA CEO Cary Sherman confirmed that the country's largest ISPs will voluntarily roll out by July 1 a "graduated response" program aimed at discouraging unauthorized downloading. A Memorandum of Understanding published last summer outlines the program, which was developed without user feedback. Under the new system, a rightsholder accusing an ISP subscriber of infringment will trigger a series of ever-increasing consequences. The responses are graduated in the sense that they escalate after each accusation, beginning with steps aimed at educating users about copyright and culminating in the Orwellian-sounding "mitigation measures" -- bandwidth throttling or acc…

Harold Ramis has sadly passed away at the young age of 69 after complications from an autoimmune disorder. Sad news indeed. The director/actor was attached to such movies as Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, National Lampoons Vacation, Stripes, Groundhog Day, and many, many others.

Australian scientists have invented a new breed of robots called Lingodroids, programmed to make, use, and share language. The bots can coin words to describe places they have been, places they want to go, and plans for getting there. “When they need a new word, they invent one,” says Janet Wiles, a cognitive scientist at the University of Queensland who leads an interdisciplinary team on the project. The rolling chatterboxes “see” using 360-degree cameras, laser range finders, and sonar. A microphone functions as their ears, and a speaker acts as a voice box, emitting the familiar beeps of a touch-tone phone. As for brains, Wiles outfitted each Lingodroid with an alphabe…

With the newest rhythm games edging closer and closer to released, Harmonix has released the full set list for the game. When the game comes out we will get the standard guitar, drum, and vocal parts but we will also have the new keyboard instrument as well. Not only that, but the 3 part vocals that were first introduced in Beatles Rock Band are also present. There are quite a few tweaks that Harmonix has made to the game as well, but most of that is window dressing for the set list. Head over to the main page and let us know what you think.
