Just got this email. Dear Steam Users and Steam Forum Users, Our Steam forums were defaced on the evening of Sunday, November 6. We began investigating and found that the intrusion goes beyond the Steam forums. We learned that intruders obtained access to a Steam database in addition to the forums. This database contained information including user names, hashed and salted passwords, game purchases, email addresses, billing addresses and encrypted credit card information. We do not have evidence that encrypted credit card numbers or personally identifying information were taken by the intruders, or that the protection on credit card numbers or passwords was…

  7. Under the administration of President Barack Obama, more money has been spent and nearly as many Americans thrown in prison over medical marijuana than was done under onetime favorite liberal punching bag George W. Bush, according to a pair of studies conducted by Americans for Safe Access and California NORML, both released today. In that span, federal prosecutors have amassed a remarkable record: 90 percent of medical marijuana cases have resulted in convictions, an effective use of the $300 million spent on enforcing federal drug laws in medical marijuana states. While current Attorney General Eric Holder's October surprise is credited with helping to derail Californ…

  9. As you may or may not know, Dejobaan Games has been making quality games for over 75 years. They have released several PC games full of oddball humor and wackiness, held together by smooth gameplay. These include The Wonderful End of the World, AaAaAA!!! – A Reckless Disregard for Gravity, and their very recently released game, 1… 2… 3… Kick It! (Drop That Beat Like an Ugly Baby). The latter two compete for alphabetical superiority in my Steam library. 1… 2… 3… Kick It! was technically released as an alpha, which can be bought and will be supported and updated over time with the aid of user feedback, much like Minecraft. It’s a music based game along the lines of Audi…

  12. Gareth Gath who suffers from cerebral palsy made a request to Visceral Games to add customizable controls to the PC version of Dead Space 2. Gath who has to play Dead Space 2 using a mouse with his chin is upset that he cannot assign the “walk forward” command to a mouse button. After his story made it through the internet, Dead Space 2 players started a petition to get his request heard and Visceral Games has indeed heard the request and are actively working on a patch to add customizable controls to the game. According to Joystiq, Executive Producer Steve Papoutsis said that the team is “passionate about getting this fixed and are hard at work on it.” “Dead Space 2 PC…

What Christmas traditions do you do? If you are from a large family like I am you might enjoy this, it was tradition to line up the kids Christmas morning from youngest to oldest, this is a poem my brother wrote about it. We also read several books on Christmas eve, The Three Trees, Little Match Girl, Christmas Star. We would also pick out the spot that we wanted Snata to put our stuff. Now that i have my own family we dos some of those and alos making new ones. So what do you do? You couldn't dream some of this stuff up. They should make a reality show and just follow around politicians. It'd be the best comedy ever aired in the history of television.

  19. By almost double the votes, EA Games has beat Bank of America in the Consumerist's annual Golden Poo Award for the worst company of 2012. Made me smile a little bit that this publisher who buys out wonderful game companies *cough* Bioware *cough* and turns them into crap with short deadlines and nickle and dime marketing is finally getting the press they deserve. Full article below: Whether it's on a console, a PC, a smartphone or tablet, hundreds of millions of people play video games every day. Yet most mainstream media covers the industry the same way it treats adult dodge ball leagues and cat fashion shows (both noble ventures, but neither of them multi-billion do…

  21. Last week, Sony detailed their “Welcome Back” package to PSN users who had their personal information stolen during the PSN attacks. While thus far this has included free PSN Plus and free downloads, they have upped the ante with a free year subscription to Debix, Inc’s AllClear ID Plus identity theft protection. Providing up to $1 million dollars in protection, this may help give some a piece of mind that even though their information was stolen, Sony is at least trying to ensure nefarious actions don’t take place with your information. The latest Sony blog gives these details of the program: Cyber monitoring and surveillance of the Internet to detect exposure of a…

So you know about the Ouya, correct? The tiny liitle android box that was a Kickstarter success? Ok, here we go. Ouya didn't rent a booth at E3. Not sure exactly why really (I didn't research), but they decided that they were going to have a booth in the parking lot across the street from the E3 convention. COMMENCE DOUCHBAGGERY! Ouya was doing their thing, having their booth and trying to show off their console. However the organizers of E3 (the ESA) apparently didn't like the fact that the Ouya team was attending E3 on "their own terms". With that in mind, the ESA immediately went out and "rented" a bunch of parking spots in the lot Ouya was in and proceed t…
