During GDC 2011, Gamasutra Editor in Chief, Brandon Sheffield and Game Developer Magazine held a discussion with some of the most successful Xbox Live Indie Game developers including James Silva, Robert Boyd, Nathan Fouts, and Ian Stoker. They all provided insight and a little bit of ranting about the games that they create for the indie lineup. According to James Silva who created the 2009 successful indie title, I MAED A GAM3 W1TH ZOMBIES 1N IT!!!1 which has sold 308,000 copies since it’s release in 2009, the developers are not allowed to create games involving killing things like Nazi’s and hunting people. “That’s like an inherent human right that’s been taken away…

Gearbox, in a “very special” announcement video, have pushed the release out on Duke Nukem Forever from the original May release to June. See the video below: Some may worry, but we here at Gamercide have full faith in Gearbox and know they need the extra time for making sure this game gets the polish it deserves. “Predator”, an Xbox Live hacker who claims he has had over 35 console bans and hacked his way into Trixie360′s account last year, has released a new video on Youtube showcasing his latest hacking victim, Xbox Live’s Policy Enforcement Lead, Stephen “Stepto” Toulouse and in his video states that Toulouse had it coming. “Predator” who spoke to Joystiq about hacking into Toulouse’s account claims that this proves that everybody’s account is open for hacking and that he only wants to help. “I’m simply letting them know I’m willing to help them secure accounts from future hackers. Toulouse who spoke to Joystiq regarding the incident is telling a far more disturbing story. “He got an old cell phone [number] of mine, and yeah, he called it occasionally”. Toulouse then played it for Joystiq who said that they could not print the expletive and derogatory filled message because it was not suitable. Toulouse later said, “I have a six minute one where he and his friend discuss all the different ways they’re go…

The information, which includes about a million usernames and passwords of customers in the U.S., the Netherlands and Belgium, is available for download and posted on the group’s site. The group also said that none of the information it took from Sony was encrypted. “Our goal here is not to come across as master hackers, hence what we're about to reveal: SonyPictures.com was owned by a very simple SQL injection, one of the most primitive and common vulnerabilities, as we should all know by now,” the group wrote, “From a single injection, we accessed EVERYTHING. Why do you put such faith in a company that allows itself to become open to these simple attacks?” Read the res…

Very interesting read, and I do believe we'll be hearing more about this very soon. In fact, it could hold Skype coming to the 360 and other places.

Astronomers have discovered the largest and oldest mass of water ever detected in the universe — a gigantic, 12-billion-year-old cloud harboring 140 trillion times more water than all of Earth's oceans combined. The cloud of water vapor surrounds a supermassive black hole called a quasar located 12 billion light-years from Earth. The discovery shows that water has been prevalent in the universe for nearly its entire existence, researchers said. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43859868/ns/technology_and_science-space/

This Is Topiary, LulzSec Mastermind Topiary's been unmasked. 18-year-old Jake Davis, the alleged hacker chief behind LulzSec's many prominent internet assaults had his first day before a judge. And if the court's claims are true, the kid's pretty screwed. Neo shades notwithstanding, the police have some pretty damaging evidence against the teen, TNW reports: a purported cache of 750,000 personal information files and a draft of the fake Murdoch obit on his laptop. That's a lot of smoking guns. Read the rest at, Gizmodo. When asked why the judge handed Topiary an extra 10 years on top of his original sentence, he wryly replied "Derp. For the lulz" I made that up, but it'd …

I suppose mine is kicking the bucket. It all started with that mess of a game Lgay noire. It constantly freezes on games, no rings or anything and everything else runs just fine. I even took out the hard drive to see if it was some sort of corrupt save. Anyways instead of being pissed for weeks I just need to get a new box. Any Suggestions? Something that comes with a good sized harddrive i have the min one that came out release which is like 20 or 16 or something small.

I've been reading some articles about fangames which have been shut down by game companies such as Nintendo, Square-Enix, Sega, etc. From what I've heard, Streets of Rage remake was shutdown by Sega, Super Mario Bros. X was shutdown by Nintendo, and more. They say it's because of copyright infringement, but they are just being mean I think. Fangames never hurt anyone. If I were the president of Sega or Nintendo or Capcom or Segtendcom or whatever, I wouldn't mind having people make fangames like those. I'd even urge them to go on, like maybe, Capcom, who was more than friendly and allowed Megaman 2.5D to be continuously worked on. In fact, when people create fangames, the…
