Newest firmware update from Sony, could be overheating some models

Featured Replies

"Primary reports seem to be that updating to firmware 3.61 will cause PlayStations to overheat," reads the "answer" to the issue. "There have been various reports of this on a few different games now, all reporting their PS3s turning off or 'Red Lighting' after having installed 3.61."

Apparently, Sony took offense to Rockstar and Rockstar removed that support page that detailed their synopsis of Sony's firmware update causing shutdowns etc.

Sony cited Rockstar's own support pages, to counter, saying that both consoles were having issues with L.A. Noire. Well, one platform would freeze. The other could beep several times, and shut itself down. I'm sure the lawyers got involved. What I don't like is, Sony saying there's no evidence to prove this. Rockstar detailed yesterday that they were able to recreate the PS3 shutdowns on their local machines that had been updated. That information was on the page that got removed.
