In my current college semester I am in an Introduction to Public Speaking class, and this was my first major speech. I think it went well enough for me to share. It is an informative speech about what video game live streaming/broadcasting is, its origins, and how it has influenced gamers and the gaming industry. Other than a couple verbal stumbles and note checks when I lost my place, I think it went quite well.

Joystiq, a gaming site that has existed for a whole bunch of years now, was purchased by AOL back in 2005. It's being reported now, rumor or no, that AOL has plans to close down the website after traffic has declined 18% in the past year. Both Kotaku and Joystiq are reporting the story, but at this time AOL and Joystiq have no comment on speculation (although Joystiq seems aware that it's pretty much bound to happen). Kind of sad, I always enjoyed checking out Joystiq every couple days and also looking out for reviews on their site as well (since I appreciate differing viewpoints)

PK & I started the playthrough at midnight launch and went until 5am. It was fun and a reminder of how fun the Dead Island games are with a co-op run. Of course I had to deal with PK's trolliness (exploding propane, molotov's in face, breaking rooftops, etc.) but that's part of the enjoyment. Weapons, crafting, fighting are all familiar if you've done a Dead Island game and the new parkour mechanics add to maneuverability around the map. At one point we were dangling 100 ft from a water main under an underpass just to get to the next waypoint! A lot of fun and broken limbs, lol. I streamed the run and will continue it tonight if you guys would like to stop by. Drop…

Go go go, Gamercide. Please go show some support and lend some encouraging words. A 24 hour stream is bad, but our BE just upped the bar. Do your duty and make sure she doesn't pass out on webcam. Watch live video from MrsBadExample on www.twitch.tv

Square Enix announced plans this past December that Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD would be making an appearance on their PS4 console. Since that time they've been pretty silent on what exactly was the purpose of yet another retail offering would bring, not now they're talking about a May 12th release date for the re-re-release of the re-remastered version. That's a lot of re-re's for the low-low price of $49.99. The company has revealed the newest version of the game will include: Ability to take advantadge of Remote Play with the PS Vita (which is actually pretty awesome)Cross-save compatibility between PS3/PS Vita/PS4 systemsDouble Enhanced textures, because you can't …

How is everyone doing? Long time no see, had to drop in and say high. Out of the Army now, married with a dog and soon to be living in Florida with my beautiful wife and starting college to be a producer and DJing on the side. Had to drop by and see everyone again thought. I missed you guys! I don't have access to my consoles right now, but I'm still very much active in gaming too. Living the dream now, college life and beach life for me.

Hey. Sorry for disappearing again guys. At the moment I'm working 27 hours a week and taking 13 college units. I'm not even really gaming at the moment. Other than all that, not much has changed for me, but I figured I should check in. In the Spring I plan on taking another 13 units and after that I should be graduating with three degrees, (English Transfer AA, Liberal Arts AA, and Liberal Studies AA). I'm excited, but I'll still be busy. I also just got a PS4 Pro, so I plan to get a few of the good exclusives that are coming out. I'm still mainly a PC gamer, I think I mentioned I upgraded to the GTX 1080 graphics card before I disappeared. I haven't even played …

So you know about the Ouya, correct? The tiny liitle android box that was a Kickstarter success? Ok, here we go. Ouya didn't rent a booth at E3. Not sure exactly why really (I didn't research), but they decided that they were going to have a booth in the parking lot across the street from the E3 convention. COMMENCE DOUCHBAGGERY! Ouya was doing their thing, having their booth and trying to show off their console. However the organizers of E3 (the ESA) apparently didn't like the fact that the Ouya team was attending E3 on "their own terms". With that in mind, the ESA immediately went out and "rented" a bunch of parking spots in the lot Ouya was in and proceed t…

So I got a kilt. I posted a couple dorky pics in another thread, but here they are again. This Sunday I went to the 148th Annual Scottish Highland Gathering and Games in Pleasanton, CA and I used that kilt to participate in The Kilted Mile. I got fourth with a time of about 6:11, while the winner finished in 5:03. Pretty good, I'd say. My brother recorded this video for me, but only the first and last parts really matter because the track is so big that you can't see anyone once they get to the other side: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=665601880136386&saved

What an awesome message we're being given. If you're law enforcement, act any way you want. If it's perceived as bad by the media and masses, we'll suspend you with pay. Later down the road, you can then sue the place that was paying you to do nothing saying you suffered depression and anxiety. Oh, you received death threats? That is indeed terrible, however, none of that would have happened if you didn't coat the faces of non-violent protestors. The other video I posted of the cop in the videos section, just wait a year from now. I bet anything he receives a similar outcome. Paid leave and eventually a settlement from the sports bar where it happened.

The company confirmed a New York Times report that it has acquired Boston Dynamics, the Massachusetts-based maker of such noted mechanical beasts as BigDog, Atlas, Petman, Cheetah, and Wildcat. The company’s robots are among the world’s most advanced two- and four-legged machines. Some are humanoid, while others resemble predatory animals. Most have been developed under contract with military agencies, including the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA. The U.S. National Security Agency has the ability to snoop on nearly every communication sent from an Apple iPhone, according to leaked documents shared by security researcher Jacob Appelbaum and German news magazine Der Spiegel. An NSA program called DROPOUTJEEP allows the agency to intercept SMS messages, access contact lists, locate a phone using cell tower data, and even activate the device’s microphone and camera. So on a night nearly 43 years ago, while Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier bludgeoned each other over 15 rounds in a televised title bout viewed by millions around the world, burglars took a lock pick and a crowbar and broke into a Federal Bureau of Investigation office in a suburb of Philadelphia, making off with nearly every document inside. They were never caught, and the stolen documents that they mailed anonymously to newspaper reporters were the first trickle of what would become a flood of revelations about extensive spying and dirty-tricks operations by the F.B.I. against dissident groups. The burglary in Media, Pa., on March 8, 1971, is a historical echo today, as…

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Watch Dogs, its much-hyped, sadly delayed open world action extravaganza. If you have doubts about the project, this should help immensely: it reveals a city that's seemingly as intricate and dynamic as that of Grand Theft Auto 5.
