This town is only 15 or so miles away, i was hoping to get better upload speed for my connection but I dont think it will extend this far. "The announcement that Provo will be the third city to get Google Fiber was made at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, after being hyped up on social media with the hashtag #ProvoEpicAnnouncement." "The service is expected to roll out by the end of 2013, and will build on the fiber-optic network iProvo." http://www.ksl.com/?sid=24830289&nid=148&title=provo-announces-google-fiber-partnership&fm=home_page&s_cid=featured-1

http://imgur.com/gallery/U8keS Found this on Imgur while trying to upload a picture to share with ya'll. From the ones that loaded for me, they looked pretty sweet. I think there is a thread on reddit about it, that is what the source linked to. [This may need to be moved to photos.]

Three women who went missing separately about a decade ago, when they were in their teens or early 20s, had been tied up but were found alive Monday in a residential area just south of downtown, and three brothers were arrested, police said. One of the women told a 911 dispatcher the person who had taken her was gone, and she pleaded for police officers to come and get her, saying, "I'm free now." Cheering crowds gathered Monday night on the street near the home where police said Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight had been held since they went missing and were found earlier in the day. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/06/amanda-berry-gina-dejesus_n_32…

Gun crime has plunged in the United States since its peak in the middle of the 1990s, including gun killings, assaults, robberies and other crimes, two new studies of government data show. Yet few Americans are aware of the dramatic drop, and more than half believe gun crime has risen, according to a newly released survey by the Pew Research Center. In less than two decades, the gun murder rate has been nearly cut in half. Other gun crimes fell even more sharply, paralleling a broader drop in violent crimes committed with or without guns. Violent crime dropped steeply during the 1990s and has fallen less dramatically since the turn of the millennium. The number of gun…

Russian scientists discovered a fully-grown female mammoth with blood and well-preserved muscle tissue trapped in ice in Siberia. The findings come amid debates on whether the extinct species should be resurrected using DNA. Scientists say they have managed to find mammoth blood during the excavation of a grown female animal on the Lyakhovsky Islands, the southernmost group of the New Siberian Islands in the Arctic seas of northeastern Russia. The dark blood was found in ice cavities below the belly of the animal. When researchers broke the cavities with a poll pick, the blood came flowing out. The fact surprised them because the temperature was 10C below zero. "It ca…

Ryan Davis passed away on July 3rd. He was 34. Obviously we’re all stunned over here. Ryan was a good friend to all of us. It’s odd to remember that, for someone who could be so acerbic at times, and despite knowing him for almost a decade, I honestly don’t recall ever actually being mad at him. He had an unconventional type of kindness that expressed itself more strongly the longer one knew him, and despite his teasing nature, he always managed to make his close friends feel loved when his attention turned towards you. Many of you know that Ryan was recently married. In the face of this awfulness, many of us will at least always remember him as we last saw him: outra…

http://youtu.be/rZBhTU5xvTM http://elitedaily.com/news/world/awful-man-gets-child-taken-away-because-he-smoked-weed-foster-parents-kill-child/ This should have never happened. She should have never been taken away because of marijuana. Had the parents been sharing a big bottle of whiskey, it would have been perfectly fine.

This is so fucking sad. Not only did he post about it, but he seriously put a picture up on his wall of her dead body. He claims that she had been punching him and that he wasn't going to take the abuse anymore. A 10 year old child was also in the home (safe) when police arrived. Link to story His Facebook page has been deleted, but some sick bastards have been re-uploaded her dead body picture to imgur. Stuff like this makes me sad for humanity. Not only that, but of course this is in Florida. Why does all the bad stuff seem to happen there lately?

This is bullshit of the highest caliber. This judge needs to be removed from not only the bench, but any career within our law system. http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/28/justice/montana-teacher-rape-sentence/index.html My opinion may be crude and disgusting, but I think any man who rapes a child should have to

Wasn't sure where this topic might fit best so I apologize if this is in the wrong place. I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread to notify Gamercide crew of awesome gaming deals going on that they may not be aware of via Steam, Humble Bundle, GoG.com, etc etc. I got this idea today when I was looking through the Steam Sales and saw Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition on sale for $7.49 (originally $29.99). This pack includes: Dragon Age: Origins ($19.99)Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Expansion Pack ($19.99)All Nine Content Packs (Prices Vary) That's at least a $40 value for $7.49 and a very awesome game definitely worth a look. The only thing making me…

According to a confirmation by Microsoft late last night, a new zero day vulnerability has been found to affect every version of Internet Explorer. In other words—over a quarter of the entire browser market. Attacks taking advantage of the vulnerability are largely targeting IE versions 9, 10, and 11 in something called a "use after free" attack. Essentially, the attack corrupts data as soon as memory has been released, most likely after users have been lured to phony websites. Microsoft explains: The vulnerability exists in the way that Internet Explorer accesses an object in memory that has been deleted or has not been properly allocated. The vulnerability may corrupt…
